This week's vlog I find myself wandering around Blackpool looking for compositions. The biggest problem is, there is just too many to choose from! Let's shoot a seascape, but which Pier do I choose? The North Pier, the South, or what about the Central Pier? Decisions, decisions!
I shot the North Pier followed by a couple of shots of the Central Pier. I had a little spare time so I grabbed a HDR shot under the Central Pier too.
My preference was the earlier shots I grabbed when the tide was in. My favourite was the black and white picture of the North Pier. That's the one where the sea was all the way in and it covered the Pier's feet. It was actually the first shot I took, although I didn't edit the video that way.
Blackpool is just brilliant for Landscape Photography.

It always boggles my mind the thumbs down people. I guess it's so easy to click thumb down, makes me just wonder about how negative these folks are in theirs lives. They have no idea how much time, effort and forward thinking it takes to make something like this.
Once again it's a great vid, informative, well put together and it just keeps getting better and better. It's okay us lot will enjoy the videos Gary and other photographer vloggers make, hopefully the haters will take their negativity and move on.

Well said! I've seen really sad fundraising videos and there were hundreds of thumbs downs. Videos made just after natural disasters too. That's CZcams though I guess. There is 34 of them now btw. It really doesn't bother me BTW. It has 1,140 Thumbs up so I'm guessing it's the right percentage. Thanks for your continued support 👍

I have been studying and watching photography videos for about 2 1/2 years now and I've not heard of you. This is the second video I've watched in the last 30 minutes and now I have subscribed. That B&W shot of that second pier is superb. Very nice work. ISO 8000????? If I go above 1600 I'm done, horrible images. You sir are a master.

I love the idea of using a high ISO to capture one color of color-rotating lights in a city scene. I live in Las Vegas and run into this all this all the time. Next time out I am going to try a high ISO and timing the the colors. I was also impressed with the footage of the train. The colors are fantastic!

Gary, simply stunning shots... (Mr Heaton pun intended) Really inspiring and fantastic contrast and detail. I live in London so really try to get the detail and colour to emote my feeling on the shot when I take it. I do a lot of long exposure (10 stop) shots and vids like this really fire the imagination and express the art of the possible. Keep up the great work mate. Would love to to come up in jan but London is a fair trick and work prevents me. Vids like yours, Thomas H and Adam at First Man really, really make a difference to relatively new guys like me looking to make there way on this amazing journey!! Huge thanks. Jason
