  • Hey homeowners - did you know you are supposed to be cleaning your refrigerator condenser coils every 6 months? Yes, you heard that right, your fridge does have coils. Thankfully, HomeServe is here to teach you how to clean refrigerator condenser coils are home.
Your refrigerator’s condenser coils cool and condense the refrigerant, releasing heat so your fridge can keep its cool. When these coils get dirty over time, they can’t do their job as well and become less efficient, reducing your fridge’s effectiveness in preserving perishables while edging up energy costs.
Six months is the minimum - but you really should clean your coils as often as every three for best results. You can even purchase a refrigerator coil brush to get that clean and pristine look! Don’t sweat it if you haven’t been keeping a regular cleaning schedule … or even if you haven’t been keeping one at all. Once we show you how simple this household maintenance task is, you won’t recoil at the thought of cleaning your coils.
Watch the video and follow our six simple steps.

Thank you so much for this. Today is Father’s Day and we just wanted to wish you a happy Father’s Day because this was the most dad advice I’ve gotten in a really long time

    Matt,
Thank you for this! My 2006 GE side-by-side has the same exact 'drum shaped' condensor coil setup. I cleaned with a vacuum as you showed. Much better!

Thanks for the video! My Condenser looks a bit different and I can't get the vacuum or canned air back there in it. I was hoping for a drip pan video after that last comment!! But you left us hanging!!

Thanks! Our fridge's coils are shaped like several W's front to back. I can't get to the middle section. Any help? Also, drip pan is not removeable, need help with that too. Thanks!
