Skew rolling simulation - FORGE®

This video illustrates an innovative skew rolling process. The temperature distribution is shown on the rolled bar. The process allows the manufacturing of steel balls used as grinding media in ball mills. Extreme localized shearing appears which is causing rupture between each ball.
FORGE® software perfectly simulates the process thanks to the use of damage criterion combined with very stable remeshing technique.
