Maxxeon Cyclops Work Light - it's available in three colours, but there's different links for each.
I bought Thor a year or so ago, It'll knock the crap out of things that don't want to move.......... I love it ( Mechanic in Wisconsin)
Wes, I just love your channel, can't wait each release!. Have a Merry Merry Christmas, you and all your family !!
(hope i can reach you,.. YT have some problem with me,.. ;-))
The Maxxeon work light, if bought from Amazon US $38 and $10.38 shipping to the UK about 1 Month. Bought from Amazon UK, £63! Bloomin cheek!
Found my match safe while cleaning out a firepit in Boy Scout camp,1977.
You 2 are adorable together! There is no way my wife and I could have pulled off a video like this… props to you guys for setting the standard. Dang good gift ideas as well 👍
The high standard is set at OnlyFans.
That is class.
Wes this needs to become a holiday tradition.😂😂😂. You two are the best. And the gear wrench ratchets are legit as I have them all.
Yes even at the risk of WWW becoming a couples lifestyle channel . 😅
I wasn't sure about this when I started watching, but I did end up enjoying it and agree that it would be a nice tradition. I normally need more help with Valentines Day - so if they could present some suggestions about that it would be great. 😃
14:42 What the hell guys?! I'm not supposed to get warm fuzzies from this channel but here I am grinning like an idiot over how cute that was. 😂
Agreed that was the absolute gold right there in this video!!! 🥰🥰
Came looking for this comment so that I didn't have to try to write it. Would have been difficult, keyboard was getting wet.
Little bit of red face for Wes there. Like none of us could tell you two adore each other. Happy Holidays to the whole family. You folks are a treasure.
Nerds who fix things or find ways to get things done make the world go 'round. As thankless as it may be.
the men who blow things up get the attention, but it is the men who fix problems that are valuable.
Everyone should have a Mrs. Wes in their life..Merry Christmas you guys!
"You don't talk to me enough to make this 'organic.'" I'm died. Dead.
She's right. We do love the willingness to be vulnerable. It's more real.
Mrs. Wes: "I love you."
[Insert awkward silence here.]
Wes: Looks uncomfortable. Searches for secret trapdoor or other means of quick escape.
The videos of you two together are so funny. For those of you who haven't seen it, The Dishwasher Episode is the funniest video ever.
Yeah, we guys are a strange race.
Great to see Wes and the owner, proprietor, and sole employee of White Knuckle Towing Services working together to provide us this great holiday related content!
You and the family have a Merry Christmas, Wes! I hope you get some time to relax.
Wes relax? Only while under a vehicle with rusty brake lines and a comfy creeper. Lol😊
You two are impossibly adorable, thanks for sharing this side of your family!
14:37 She's right and just slays with that. I'm a jaded ol man, but I'm tearing up in here.
I loved seeing you two together, like she said, when my wife was alive, we used to get our gifts through out the year instead at one season.
Mine gets summer clothes at the end of year sales ditto winter clothes. Best I remember was getting me $600+ worth of clothes (tag prices) for a measly $105. I was in clothes paradise for several years with what she purchased. 👍
I wasn't sure I would enjoy this video but the chemistry between you and Mrs Wes is just so wholesome I loved every minute of it 👍
Until I saw this video, I always thought Mrs Wes was touch aloof and distant. oday she comes across as warm and fuzzy. well done, hope we see more of you as warm and fuzzy.
Mick
Wes how you kept a straight face it don't drip out the end,😂 Mrs Wes is part of you're team hope she's on the payroll, we would be lost without WWW regards from Scotland 🇬🇧🏴🚜🛻🚙🚗
Love you guys!
Such a sweet wife, Wes...
Thank you guys for the ideas and the thoughtful entertainment!
Wes is spot on about the Redwing 🥾 I have worn them for over 40 years. I bought two pair twelve years ago and wore one pair out and the other pair is still looking brand new. I retired and don’t wear them for work anymore.
I wish I could get into the Redwings, I have really short and wide feet. Even their EEE size didn't fit quite right in the toes. Just something for others to be mindful of.
Yes, those boots and shoes may seem expensive but durability and quality are worth it.
If you spend your working day in boots then $300 is not a great amount to spend on something that protects your feet. You don't want to have sore feet after just 30 minutes. I remember paying $140 for a pair (can't remember the brand) 40+ years ago and at the end of a 12 hour shift my feet felt like they were still walking on air.
I've been wearing Red Wings for over 60 years. Occasionally have tried different brands but they just don't hold up or are as comfortable as the Red Wings.
I also have one of those original match holders, been using that also for over 60 years for hunting trips. Can't beat it.
I'm a worker with hands and also autistic and I can confirm what you said. Always impressed by your skills and passions in almost everything.
Freaking adorable life without a wonderful wife is like living in black and white I always say my wife adds the color to my life. Merry Christmas.
Ahh yes.., all excellent gift ideas. Special thanks to the lovely assistant, “Vanna” Hufflepuff gift idea display/demonstrator.
Thank you sir.
Wes, FYI, your wife mentioned ‘they look like a Raptor’. Knipex sell Raptor pliers to remove ‘rounded’ bolts, they are awesome. Great video. Kindest regards from Bonnie Scotland. Joe.😊
In Finland we call those "Papukaija" Parrot in english
Great tool recommendations. Wife wore red wing boots when she delivered for airborne and DHL. I wore them for years while working as a tech. Bought them direct at the Red Wing store in Red Wing Minnesota. Best boots I ever owned. Still have my match holder from like 50 years ago, been many miles and miles on trips. My dad had a Swiss Army knife all my life. It’s in my china cabinet to him. It was always in his pocket. It is the deluxe tinker model. Mom hated it because it wore a hole in the back right pocket where he kept it and she had to continually fix the pocket. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
I grew up in Red Wing MN. Thanks for the shout out to my hometown locally made industry. Support USA made products.
Say it back to her Wes. She is such a nice lady.
Merry Christmas 🎄
Smart man Wes, running away when MrsWes assembles IKEA furniture. I do the same thing. Boy, how to get big things done. I worked in a naval shipyard for over 30 years and was trained in just about every snake oil process for improving production. Late in my career, common sense started to take hold in the navy and we started to get things done on time and within budget. I need to read that book.
It's good to have a sit-down episode with your wife. she should talk about the life of being a supportive wife. LOL
Therapy with Wes and Mrs Wes. Excellent....
So very nice to see Mrs Wes in a video again! It’s been a while! Happy Holidays to the 4 of you!!!
The Prusa printers are a real workhorse machine. We have about two dozen at the tech tips factory. One note about your MK3, it can be upgraded to a MK4 with an add-in kit, the kit is also not cheap. I like using them when I don't care about speed, I just need it to print accurately. If I want to print stuff fast, we have the Bambu units for small things and the Pantheon for big things. The Pantheon's head moves so fast that it pulls 3 Gs. It's nuts.
I'm eyeing a resin printer next. The learning curve looks even steeper but they can do some cool stuff.
Check out a voron if you want a project for at night. I'm about to build a switchwire conversion.
@@WatchWesWork Wes, if you have a sec, take a look at the things they're doing with metal 3D printers. The folks on the engineering side have a Rapidia machine. It prints out powdered metal which is then cured, as is my understanding of it. They did a full prototype of the LTT screwdriver handle in the machine, I was impressed at how solid it felt. Wild stuff.
Thank you for the show. You are a great pair!!
I’ll expect another around Valentine’s Day.
Merry christmas ! I used my swiss army knife with a small pair of vice grips to get a passenger locomotive going. After a 1.4 mill rebuild, a 15 cent knob cracked. Knife took out the set screw, vice grip grabbed shaft, left to prime, right to start. My self a track inspector and the signalman I was working with got out of that 149 degree engine room to the applause of the 600 passengers that had gotten off because of no AC. I loved my job !
Lego instructions are also an example of visual thinking. There are no words because they're made for multiple languages
This was a great sidebar to your normal content! Merry Christmas to you and your family 😊
What a great video, Wes and Mrs Wes. I appreciate the gift ideas, but the relationship between you and your wife had me smiling and laughing the most. I am fortunate to have a great wife as well. You and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for the videos, always a treat.
You two are so cute. It's obvious you love each other.
I've been programming computers for over 20 years. I'm getting into automotive more and more lately. Like the flip side of your coin.
Programming requires a lot of abstract thinking. That's why I like mechanical stuff because I can put my hands on it.
Thanks for this brief window into the life of the internet's cutest couple.
Regarding the book "How Big things get done", once big projects get going you kind of have no choice but to finish it. Most people optimistically give low initial bids and optimistic time to completion estimates knowing full well that it's going to cost more and take longer but once it's past the halfway mark you have no choice but to continue the project regardless of cost or time estimates. That's true with my own personal projects too, I always go into the project optimistically but once I'm past that halfway mark I kind of have no choice but to just finish it and it cost what it costs and it takes as much time as it takes. I think that's just human nature.
Yeah, we all do it. He even says that. A lot also has to do with politics. If politicians told people the truth, no one would vote for any large projects.
Also, don’t start a kitchen remodel without an expectation of 200-300% over budget.
@@for2utube Yes because the other part of going over budget is making mid-project design changes, also adding things to make the project better, all the "while you're in there" stuff that you realize after the project is half done.......
see also: The Mythical Man Month. its really old now, and is about software projects, which is my expertise, so I grok a lot of that stuff. 30 year professional coder.
I got a pair of those Knipex Cobra pliers a while ago and I carry them every day. Coupled with a Gerber Armbar Drive and it’s a solid combination.
Funny enough, I remember my grandfather (heavy equipment operator) carrying an almost identical pair of pliers every day and he used the hell out of them. What goes around and all that…
And I must get that book on project estimations. That has been my experience on every single project I’ve worked on. Every single one.
One employer, the Program Manager and management estimated 12 months for a ground up, clean sheet design program. When the company went bankrupt/out of business 6 years later, the project was still in development and was never released.
Aw great change with your amazing white knuckle towing driver . Merry Xmas family there 👍💪
They made a movie about Temple Grandin and how she was detrimental to the handling of cows.
It’s an awesome movie for the whole family. I think you guys would really enjoy it.
She is the cow whisperer.
Wes, My family and I want to wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas. You and your wife bring real family charm and share your love with all your fans. Thank you, God bless and look forward to more entertainment for you next year.
Awesome when a mechanic recommends tools. Got the Maxxeon on order now!
Thanks Wes
Me too!
You are out matched Wes. She has you around her little finger. It happens to the best of us.
Hey Wes, About the Red Wing boots, I have been wearing them for about 40 years. I rotate 2 pair because after a 12 hour day they need to be aired out. The newest pair I have is 15 years old. I'm in a factory and not on gravel, so they wear very well. I'm also not crawling around so the toes don't wear out.
The ritual I stand by to skirt the 2 weeks of agony is this:
Soak them over night just past the ankle preferably in warm water.
with 2 pair of sox, wear them until they are dry. (best to do this in the summer)
Your feet might smell worse that night, but they will be the best fitting boots you have.
The leather will shrink in the loose spots and stretch in the tight ones. A perfect mold of your foot.
I know you are thinking that's weird, but once you try it you will be a believer.
Mike
My strategy for last minute shopping is to wait until Dec. 23 or 24. Go to the store, take whatever is left on the shelves. Merry Christmas!
This comment made in China. 😁
OMG. Mrs Watch Wes Work. This is gonna be the best xmas ever!!!! I hope you have a fantastic Christmas, and you too Wes.
I can't thank you enough for recommending the book, "Visual Thinking". I started reading it and was almost in tears before the end of the foreword. I have always felt like a failure because I didn't complete my degree in engineering. I always got flummoxed by calculus and could not go on to the engineering classes. I am not on the spectrum but so much of what the author describes applies to me. What a revelation! Thank you so much!
She is an absolute treasure!
This is HILARIOUS (comic relief scene partner) and so very useful. I could watch you lifestyle vlog all day. Your outside the compound excursions. Your evening in the office talks. Your dry humor, sometimes at my expense (but hey I can dish it back). What a gift in it of itself. Thank you for this bonus gift. Merry Christmas to you. And the missus. And the kiddo. And the pup. And the crickets.
Arrgh! Your profile picture had me reaching to remove the hair on my screen!!!!
@@dolvaran haha! Thanks 🤣 you're great
The bookmarks Wes!! 😂 *Those are sweet!* I carry the same mini Knipex cobras every day. Like you mentioned, more handy than you would ever imagine 🔧
That was so sweet!!!
And I'm a crusty seventy year old, not very needy, retired fella ♥!!!
Regarding "How to Get Big Things Done" , I would ALWAYS err on the side of longer completion times and budgets (IC design and manufacturing company, the Advanced R&D division) and even my own boss would hard time me on that, but I was always in the end more accurate as the final costs and completions were longer than even MY estimates. Later we both saw eye to eye on some big projects we were both part of but didn't dream up, and finally got the ear of the VP to kill off some that would truly drain the coffers and offer nothing. NASA could take a few lessons from that book, Wes!
I worked in R&D and I remember the BS "projections" of time and cost that the big wigs would throw around. It was ridiculous.
Dang it Wes, Going all Hallmark Christmas on us. The Mrs. was right, it was wonderful, and I can't talk for everyone, but I loved it. Some good Ideas, and some solid quality options. I agree with others, this could be a holiday tradition. I'm almost a 40 year veteran as a tech, and I'm always interested in seeing what other techs use to do their jobs. A solid tool is a good investment no matter the brand. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Great vid Wes. I like the ideas with varying price ranges for all types of folks. Glad you both did that and Mrs. Wes with the "I love you" which really "surprised" you with "How I am going to respond to that" LOL !
Reading "How big things get done" as well. Current read. Great stuff. Bricklink is ace, wait until you get into Lego CAD Wes.... (You think I'm kidding too right?)
Pocket knife is always a great idea. You never know when you're gonna need it. I've owed life seven knives in the last 40 years and currently have two of the wee pen knives and two of the larger ones.
This was a really good video of course I enjoy all of the fix it videos but this one is great for the quick gifts thanks
When I started watching this video, I have to say I was never expecting book reviews.
As a secondhand bookshop owner this delights me. 🙂
You guys just keep delivering the goods, long may it continue.
Replacement swiss army knife. $25.
Custormer returning a swiss army knife that spent a year in a duct. Priceless.
It is was a goofy video but it was real. People crave the real in a world of fake. Don’t hide who you are, we are here for it!
Hello and thanks for great content. I watch it all..😂 its really fun to watch when youre better half is in the eye of the camera. You two really have good humor. Happy holidays and stay safe. Greetings from Norway
You two are some cute together. This video is a great Christmas gift to us.
Thanks for the fun time. Lots of neat stuff. Personally I do audio books. I can walk, work and whatever. Easy to get a few hundred books in a year.
Few hundred? Jeepers.
man i love the relationship you and your wife have and it is so obvious just from your smiley warm facial expressions when you are together on camera. love it.
i
You and Mrs Wes crack me up. 🤣
Not a bad list Wes. I've never seen Astro-pneumatic tools being sold here in England. I'd love my own "Thor". I'm strongly considering getting a 3D printer and learning. Been meaning to for years but just never got around to it.
You two are a trip, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you. Love you channel Wes.
For the 3D printer if you're looking for something that just works out of the box and want to use it more as a tool than a hobby like myself, I'd recommend the Bambu Labs P1S or P1P for a cheaper price. Yes, they're made in China, but my P1P has been the best desktop 3D printer I've ever used. It prints almost 3x as fast as a Prusa, the quality is amazing, and the printer just works. I have done absolutely no tinkering with the machine as its just worked! Thanks for the other ideas Wes and Happy Holidays!
Thanks guy for welcoming us viewer into your home and workshop Merry Christmas and Happy New Year looking forward to next years under the hood antics
I look forward to all of your videos. That being said, this has to be one of your best. You and your wife are just real down to earth good people. The world needs more like you two. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! 😊👍
Dear Santa Wes, all I want for Christmas is another nerd, nerd, nerds list. I will be stopping over tomorrow to set on your lap and tell you all about it. Side notes your helper, makes the show good job thank you Merry Christmas and ALL that stuff stay safe
you two are so cute together! Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas!!
I loved this. Really brought a smile to my face. Merry Christmas!
Nice looking tools for Christmas thank you for your posting this video on them Wes and your wife 😊
Merry Christmas to you all! Always a pleasure to check in on WesandWonderfulWife.
I'm definitely a visual thinker. Thanks for sharing this. Fan forever.
This made me happy. Keep it up Wes! Us fellow nerds appreciate it lol Merry Christmas
Visual Thinking is an amazing book by an amazing author (Also highly, HIGHLY recommend Thinking in Pictures by the same author). I cannot say enough how great it is and it is awesome to see it recommended here. Even if you are not a visual thinking type person, it is a must read to help understand those that are. As someone who had a child diagnosed with ADHD early on in his life, it took years to realize that I was just like my son my ignored the signs. The book is not really about ADHD at all, but a lot of the thought processes are similar and it was a great read for my wife and I, and now my son finished it recently. Merry Christmas to you and the family, keep up the great work
I read Thinking in Pictures as well.
@@WatchWesWork I didn't know that was a thing... But Now I know How I think! That's why when somebody is talking fast it takes me a while to process!!! Thank you!
I enjoy all off your videos, regardless of the topic. You have a soothing, intelligent presentation style that captures my attention. I hope you remain active on your channel!
Great video, is nice to see there's a human behind the robot that fixes everything ! 😛
Love the humor between you two. Merry Christmas!
Thank you. Your smiles are infectious. Have a wonderful Christmas and every day in between. Ps. I've always thought I had more of a photographic memory, and I really struggled in school. But I excelled in shop classes. And for what ever reason no watch or mechanical device was safe from my overwhelming desire to tear it apart to see what made it work. Eventually I learned how to put things back together.
RedWing boots are worth the money and when I bought mine I got lifetime free shoe laces and leather cleaning and conditioning included! I just take them back to the store where I bought them and after a 10 to 15 minute wait they are fully cleaned and conditioned. No other brand offers that to my knowledge.
I got my Swiss Army knife as a Boyscout back in Germany when I was 10 years old ... 47 years later I still have and use it all the time, it did not come with a toothpick though 😊
Cute couple. Mrs. Wes is awesome.
Hi, Wes, I want to wish you and everyone in your family & max a very MERRY Christmases. KEEP KEEP MAKING VIDEOS. This needs to be each & every year.
You both do a great job. I really appreciate your candor. Take care of each other and stay true.
.
Great video! You and Mrs Wes did a great job. This should be a regular occurrence
😁
Illinois women are the best. My wife has my back and I have hers. We do what needs to be dome to make life work. You're a lucky man.
I wait every week to watch your video, because I am subscribed to so many channels, your channel is the one I like the most. Over the past 2 years I have been down a very horrible personal life, I am very very happy for you because your wife said that she loves you. Please do not take it for granted, you truly do not know what you have until it’s not their anymore. Merry Christmas WWW!!!!!
I loved this. You are a wealth of knowledge and experience and I'm lucky to be subbed to your channel. I also loved that mentioned the Python books because there's not a lot of mechanics that branch out into the programming side of things. But your troubleshooting approach shows how you take the time to understand the systems before trying to solve the problems so you can understand how it all works together.
You seem like a solid dude and I really enjoy watching the dynamic between you and your wife. You're both very adorable together, but tell her you love her, you numskull!
On a side note, there was a biopic about Temple Grandin a few years ago that anyone here with interest should watch. They show her childhood and struggles growing up. And later they show her success with animal management as a result of her thinking style from having autism. She also blazed a trail as a woman in her field way back when it was only men.
I highly recommend that Temple Grandin film with Claire Danes.
Happy holidays!
Many blessings of Christmas cheer to you and yours, Wes & Wife .
The Milwaukee fastback with the screwdriver attachment should definitely be on this list.
The nerdiness, the outtakes, your companionship, all reasons you guys are so endearing! Keep it up!
Lots of great gift ideas Wes! Two items for sure have my attention. Thank you both for doing this holiday gift video, but what’s Max’s ideas? 👍
He like raw hide.
@@WatchWesWork And mice
@@WatchWesWork Rowdy Yates was my favourite. 😁
I believe this needs to be a yearly tradition
LEGO build instructions are also an excellent example of visual versus verbal direction.
Also, it's great you like Swiss Army knives and are learning about the Swiss Army knife of programming - Python.
Thanks Wes for giving me a good chuckle happy holidays and merry Christmas to you guys
You guys are so great together. Thanks for all the great content this year. Happy Christmas and all the very best to you and yours from this side of the pond. 🎄🎄🎄
Wishing you and your family a fantastic Christmas. Thank you so much for all the content in 2023, can’t wait for 2024 👍🏻
I am probably somewhat of a visual thinker, but I still like the written instructions as well, as long as they are coherent. I did indeed have trouble with school, and not just due to my extremely low motivation for desk work. I actually liked geometry, which I took as a senior, 😂 but I have about zero understanding of algebra - and have never run across any need for it, over a lifetime of building and fixing stuff. But I figured out on my own how to extrapolate the actual height of a tire from the advertised size specs. As a kid, I wanted to be a truck driver, or a carpenter, or a mechanic, so I saw school as something I didn't really need, a sort of necessary evil, which at least gave me a chance to see friends and socialize.
