      That's probably a hard rock bucket on it. It can handle a 52 yard coal bucket.

      appearances can be deceiving, may seem smaller, but carry much more, they only leave it little bit lower, only much wider, to carry all the material, and fill completely..

      Geo Thomas If you did you didn’t see it with its standard largest sized bucket. If it was possible for the 994K to have a 72 yard bucket at all it would have been for pushing wood chip into a pile or working with coal. Even then I’d say it would be much too big a bucket for it to handle.

    Why do they have carpet underneath these heavy machinery? Don’t they wear out quickly? Is it there so that there is more friction when moving the machinery during wet weather? I’m mean this giant machine weighs 240 tons. Anything gets crushed.

    My family has 2 Of these and a couple smaller old 675 Michigan’s. My favorite equipment we have is the Case IH Quadtrac. I’ve put like 2000 miles on it just cruising in our upper pastures.

      It might be the biggest but the biggest bucket of s#$t. We have 2 @10,000hrs that have done 40 lift cylinders and 6 994H that haven't done any in the same time.

    That is one hell of a machine, but I have to say: A machine as big as a HOUSE maneuvering in tight confines with only ONE! banksman, and every body wearing low viz black! Nobody wearing HIGH VIZ at all! Guessing they all have life insurance, and want to make a claim LOL.

      The size of the bucket used depends on many things. It's not just one bucket fits all type of deal.

      Its a heavy rock bucket. It is used for granite, basalt, and other solid materials. You can see the hardened teeth and wear shims on the bottom of the bucket. The larger buckets are used for lighter softer materials such as coal, snow, gypsum.
