I've been clean and sober for many years but I always miss the peace drugs gave me even though I knew full well it was just an illusion. Chemical, false peace is better than real hell. I've had complex PTSD since I was a child (didn't know it until my 30's) I've been through all kinds of therapy that helped me not NEED those things but I don't know if the desire will ever go away. You just get so damn tired of trying so fkn hard just be keep getting knocked down again and again.
