Medway as a whole is not good any more. Left Rainham and moved to the Midlands, mid 90's. Last visit to Chatham, some 10 yrs back not good. So many foreign languages, was not sure what country I was in!
I used to live in Halstead, Essex back in the 90’s and always enjoyed visiting Kent. I’ve been back in NZ for over 20 years and miss England.

I spent a year of my childhood in Joyce Green hospital which is in Stone, came down with a very rare meningitis and apart from one brief bout of consciousness I was in a coma for just under a year.
Used to live in Dartford - worse areas there than Stone - my bro lived right next to Stone Crossing Station - always seemed OK to me. Loads of worse places in Kent - how about Leysdown or Sheerness

There are several. There’s Stone in Oxney and Stone cum Ebony. Both near Tenterden. I grew up in Kent and I never heard of this one.
Stone worse than Sheerness? Nooooo
You can guarantee that most or all the sexual and violent assaults can be attributed to Bluewater as well as all the shoplifting. Stone is one of the sleepiest quietest places you could pass through. Fun fact, it once housed the largest water park in the uk and was demolished after only a few years due to the foundations sinking into marshland. Had some great days out there as a kid.
I used to live a 5 min walk away from Stone and go to the social club there often, it has a lot of problems but it's by no means the worst place in Kent but all your points are valid
I used to live in Charles Street and drink in the Lads of the Village. I must admit that I was a bit surprised by this video. I guess that like a lot of run down places, what it needs is investment. I have to agree that there are far worse places to live in Kent.

Went to Stone today. Incredibly safe. Bluewater is the crime driver- surprised by the violent crime stats.

The statistics take in all of the incidents at Bluewater shopping centre too.
The only connection i know of a celebrity to that area was the DJ Tommy vance who passed away in Darent Valley hospital in 2005 which is a Stone's throw away up the road, great loss to the world of Radio and TV, RIP tommy.
There's a plethora of programs like this on CZcams about the degradation of British society. One of these days we might get some insights into what's causing it. It's the lack of knowledge about what makes good societies that lies behind it. It seems a whol nation has lost the nerve to live properly. It's forgotten how to do it.
I'd have gone for Sheerness. Mind you there aren't many nice towns in Kent.

Kent is not nice or posh. I was born there, I know. Please stop peddling that myth. It's one of the most divided counties, but the fact that places like Stone have these issues when things are supposedly so "posh" proves that they're not. It underlines the huge disparity between the rich & poor. It also shows that it makes no difference to poor people's lives if there's a bunch of toffs living a few miles away.

The fact is it has the highest recorded crime therefore making statistically the most dangerous, you can argue places with higher violent crime result in more injuries or deaths. But statistically when combine all crime types this is the most dangerous.
