It's funny how back when this show began on television, and I was young, I thought this show was about bad kids. Watching this as an adult, I now realize that it was totally about bad parenting.

The children behave this way because Mom allowed it to work to get then what they want. Mom needs to realize it's her kids choice to lose privledges. It's not her punishing them it their choices that lose their privledges. I'm sorry but these kids behavior was because mom allowed it and even rewarded it. The dad was right and the nanny even agreed with him. Mom is struggling because she wants to be their friend not their parent.

That poor mom…When she said “Am I going to eat by myself again?” I actually teared up because my mother would never eat with me when I was little. I wanted to jump through the screen and sit down with her and let her just rant and vent to me about her day.

Give me one day with those brats and they’d be perfect angels. All parenting takes is unconditional love, discipline and boundaries.

I never had this problem when raising my daughter. No smart mouth, no back talking, no telling me no, no ordering me around...nothing! Why? Because I didn’t tolerate ANY of it! My daughter knew better than to ever even consider disrespecting me or her father. We put up with zero crap! I never spanked or hit my kid either!
These weak parents are to blame for how their kids treat them. Discipline is key! Follow through on everything you say!

I will never hit or spank my kids whenever I do have them. They will have clear boundaries and consequences such as toys being taken away and sitting in time-out, which does work. People who say it doesn't work don't understand how to do it correctly and how to communicate with their children.

Watching this really made me appreciate my husband all the more. He always credits me with how great our kids are turning out since I am here with them all the time, but I always thank HIM for being an excellent Father. I KNOW our kids wouldn't behave half as well if they saw him disrespecting me in the background or undermining me. I am SO thankful for him.

When my grand kids asked me to carry their bags (7-8 years old) after school , I looked at their eyes and dropped bags on the street.. then I kept walking. Kids started picking up bags and run towards me. They have never tried again. Kids are naturally manipulators. They always look for opportunities for parents and grandparents weak spots.
