We (Nicole & Stijn) are back in our Malaga Beach House. Time to look back at this amazing trip. For 5 months we rented out our holiday home in Malaga. So we decided to travel through Portugal. To explore the coastline. From South to North. And follow the wind!
A dream come true. But... this dream had a little story behind it. Because in 2016 we had to postpone our dream… We will tell you in this first episode of our Follow The Wind video series - Portugal.
We will also share our 3 favorite kite spots of this travel!

Well yeah Tim! For sure we remember you both! Last year we had a great time in Portugal together. This summer our plan is to go to Tarifa.

Wat leuk te horen, en tof dat je deze "oudere" video hebt gevonden! Ben je ook een kitesurfer? Momenteel zijn we de wind aan het volgen in Zuid-Afrika, en eind vorig jaar 3 maanden in Brazilie geweest. Zie de video die vanavond online is gekomen ;-) ^Nicole

Wat gave trip, zitten jullie ook op polarsteps? Zodat ik wat meer info kan vinden over de trip en de verschillende spots
Wil met het gezin 4 weken weg. (3tjes) Viana ziet er cool uit, maar ik twijfel over de wind, in juli of deze genoeg thermisch is - wat zou jullie advies zijn en wat zou je aanraden? 4 weken is wat minder dan 5 maanden. Voorkeur beginnen in het zuiden? Of toch het Noorden? hoor graag van jullie je advies.
Wij hebben de meeste wind in Alvor gehad, thermisch, 2 uit de 3 weken. Mooie lagoon, wel stukje lopen naar de lagoon en het met getijden te maken. Viana was de wind 50/50 bij ons, 1 week heel goed en 1 week niet. En een week beetje half. Wij zijn van zuid naar noord gegaan en van noord naar zuid. Durf niet te zeggen wat het slimste is. Toch ook een beetje geluk hebben. Fontha de Telha onder Lissabon, bij kiteclub windspirit hebben wij ook vaak en heerlijk gekite. Prachtige Sunset, mooi strand
Great video guys!! I lived in tarifa and kited there for a few months in 2018. Now looking to move to Portugal to work remotely, deciding between a base at Lagos, or up nearer Lisbon around Caparica area. If you had only these two choices what would you choose!? And hello from the Netherlands (I live at the moment in the Hague, also super kiting here))
Hi Neil, so sorry, I just see your message! Did you already moved to Portugal? ;-) Well, good question. For the wind, we would go to Caparica. At the place Fonta da Telha we had really nice kite sessions, and we think the wind is better there. But for better weather ;-), We would choose Lagos, and there you've the lagoon for kiting. Which was also nice, but the wind was less clean and gusty. Do/ did you enjoy the Netherlands? I think you're a more expericed rider in NL than we are. We learned kitesurfing in Spain, Tarifa, and are not that often in NL ;-)
You mean Viana do Castelo? I was there in summer 2019. Did like it, but not much wind and freezing cold water.
Yep, Viana do Castelo. That´s true. The water is cold, but you get used to it. A good wetsuit means everyhting. :-)

@@NicoleStijn Thanks. I am a Kiter as well and I got all October & November & until mid December. Still not sure if Algarve, Sardinia or even Greece. I am in my T6 Bus :)
