Some very good information, thank you. I had to do just that on my F9F Panther to make it more manageable and not so touchy to fly. Since I didn't have a computer radio the manual adjustments worked just fine. Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you that was very informative. I didn't realize each particular plane will have different handling characteristics with the amount of throw you have. Like the song says, life's a dance you learn as you go.
Excellent guide - Thanks Pete, I am setting up my new Extra 330s and this helped a lot :)
Initial control surface alignment with servos centred for ailrons, flaps , elevator and rudder. Then how to set things up on the F8 Crusader with elevons or flaperons.
Thanks Pete
All the best
Bob
impressive young man, great tips even for this ole warbird modler.
I found this useful, but, diappointingly, not a word about the mechanical setup before the electrical! Thank you for the vid.
Cheers Pete
You've just answered a question on elevator thows... In safe mode a kite I made wouldn't take off due to the lack of throw on the ele.... Now I know how to squeeze more angle out of the system
Thanks

Hi Pete, is there an index somewhere that we can lookup the default throws for example an EDF A10 Thunderbolt I am building 1/7 scale? Ailerons, flaps, vertical and horizontal stabs?
Hey, Hi!, Iwanna kknow whats the cristal thing with blue led light behind you. Whats that?
Hey Pete - great video!! Pleasese advise the factory control throws for a FMS P-51 mustang 1400mm wingspan?
Fantastic! Can't thank you enough. Now, I have a question. You obviously fly 3D aerobatics (nice plane by the way!). I have a foam 3D trainer called a Wargo Yak54. I'm just getting back into the hobby after a 20 year layoff and want to fly this plane but the recommended control throws are totally outside of my capabilities right now, even though I was flying an a .60 size Extra 300 glow model with total confidence when I quit.I am flying a UMX Timer perfectly fine right now. My question is, can you recommend how much I should reduce the recommended throws on the Yak so I can fly it like a sport plane until my nerves settle down. I know this is a tough question. I've reduced them by 60% and they are still pretty radical. Thanks!
cleanly explained ,thanks pete
How about a J3 Cub for throws? 16 degrees rudder, and 12 degrees aileron and elevator sufficient? Thanks!
landing gear servos....some plans show one servo for both sides.is that enough servo?
Way to go Pete!!!
How thick should Pushrods be (.032 or .047)? And do they need pushrod tubing for a ...say, 45" wingspan scratch foam board 3d plane like an Edge 540?
hi pete , i have a 64mm edf jet 3 channel can you please give me the best throws for this type of plane thanks , andyuk
what are the dials on the transmitter?
What the throws in a freewing F-22 90mm and tips on duel rate's
Thanks Pete. What about control surface throws on a trainer. I fly trainers only. I have only used hand me down D/R and Expo settings and the throws are what they are. For low the D/R and expo are 65 and 50 for mid it is 75 and 50 and high is 100 and 50. This is not scientific. I have a Great planes manual throw gauge and do the measurements but for me I don't use them in the setup. Sometimes I compare them to published values in the manual. If I have an uncontrolled flight and manage to land it then I reconfigure.
I very much enjoyed this video and your clear explanation. I would really like more info and throw info on different categories of planes. The material you present here is excellent.
Hi Pete, can you show how to set throws for 3D plane such as yours there and using futaba T6EXHP transmitter. Thanks Pete.
Flight simulators that you can practice on the computer.
A few options with a working radio that you can actually bind to a RC plane or helo and fly?
How about the programs that are the most realistic and scale to actually flying in the local park such as wind, obstacles/trees, and runway/grass landings?
Since this was about throws, can you adjust them on a sim too?
Thanks pete
Is there an ultimate choice in one or 2 set ups?
Good stuff!!
pete i purchased a 9116 double horse.i have rev my ail and rudder. i can not get them back to normal please help.cant fly.
can you show how to set up a new esc
good job!
can you make a video of how to do 3d with that plane?
The best thing to do to any new plane at maiden; dial down the throws and check the CG.
Couldn't you just set up the control surfaces to max deflection as per the manufacturer, then set your radio up for maybe 40% expo on all controls to smooth things out?
Me interesa el f18 mig 29
Just do a brief review on esc's and servos
Please Discuss Props! Diameter VS Pitch etc...
Just do a brief tips on EEC and servos
motor and esc for 3d plane like yours
u cant. he said it was his personal plane. look up 3dhs.
also, if u look at his site, u should be able to notice that a good percentage on the site is warbirds but, they also sell some aerobatic planes, helis and cars and he is also proud of the "pete's signature series" genesis power lipos
Red Bull fail on cap size...
Whatever happened to your Air Earl video? "Air Earl.... In the skyyyyyy"
Great Tips. I am gonna send you a baseball cap that isnt 5 sizes too large tho.
It's his and/or his father's company...
But it's really complicated...
First!
ok...lets have pete make vids of the easiest, least complicated subjects that everybody but the absolute noob already knows about. geez
it would take somebody really dense to not be able to get something out of a 10min vid about props diameter and pitch
That's a bit complicated...
i stopped watching after the usage of the digital throw meter wich he uses behind the plane.. nice static camera setup there. hmm this is from 2012.. lol
Witches don't use airplanes! they use brooms!
