  • When I was researching to find out what to see in Zadar in 1 day, I did not expect that this city bathed by the Adriatic Sea would be the one I would like the most of my entire trip through Croatia,
After spending a few days in Zagreb and the Plitvice Lakes it was time to visit Zadar. We spent two nights there, giving us the opportunity to explore the city early in the morning. The first thing I asked myself before coming was what to do in Zadar and where to start and it was not a difficult choice, due to its main access the Terraferma Gate. This access took us to the Plaza de los 5 Wells, a place that, as its name indicates, has 5 wells from which drinking water was drawn until the 19th century. Next to this square there is a small appetizer of the influence that the Roman Empire had in Zadar with a column from the time. Right there you will find one of the main churches of the city, that of San Simeon, and a few meters away the Narodni Square or town square, where there are several monuments of interest. Following our route through Zadar in one day we arrived at its open-air market, it is curious because it is very common for markets to be open-air in Croatia. For me the Zadar Market was the most beautiful of all. It was time to visit the Roman Forum, with remains of columns from the 1st century. Next to the Forum are several of the most representative monuments such as the Church of San Donato, the Column of Shame, the Cathedral of Saint Anastasia and its tower, which We went up and from where we could enjoy impressive views. We continue visiting different parts of the city to finish our visit at the Zadar sea crossing and contemplate two of the most popular and original monuments of the city, the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun, which if you don't know what they are I invite you Watch this video and find out.
