That intro is one of the most powerful and skilled acting performances I have ever witnessed.
Oscar worthy 🙌
😂😂😂😂…Thank you Gary!
they missed out not having it on 4K
Facts
Hopefully, when Lionsgate decides to end the franchise forever they put all the movies on 4K
I'm sure a lot will be happy to spend 500$ on one 4k box set
The Oscar goes to Ken for best unboxing video intro 🎉
I’d like to thank my bluray collection and god for getting me to this point.
To put a performance like that out this far ahead of the Oscars... looking forward to the bright future of the KenCU
😂😂😂
could you imagine all the saws remastered in 4k ? im still salty Elm street has none in 4k
We all are. We all are.
We have only 4 movies out od 10 on 4k now
Dude I totally love the intro😂🤣🤣🤣 love the saw theme. Awesome!!!
They could have did 2 separate cases dividing the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the films like with the Paramount Best Picture Essentials Collection Blu-ray.
As a collector of physical media that deals with a bit of the ol' OCD, I literally gasped in horror when you opened that case. They put them in an old school TV show stacking case from the early days of the DVD format. The sons-of-******* stacked the discs. This way of doing things, of producing home media should be a thing of the distant past by now in the physical media game. They didn't even have the good sense to update the artwork on the discs. These are old discs. It looks like they just had some of the older stuff laying around and decided to re-purpose and re-sell it. Disgraceful. I got the just-blu ray version that came out before this one (when it was new) to hold me over for the time being. The first film was recently released on 4K, so I will hold out for a set in that format before dropping that kind of money. Just as well, this is a set that desperately needs a boutique release, like, bad as hell. Thank you for taking the hit and deep diving this for us, dude. You're awesome!
After seeing this unboxing Im most definitely passing on this set!
Is the name of the series “Saw” or “Saul”? 😂
The fact we still don’t have Saw-7 on 4K is a crime. All films in 4K and HDR would be an instant buy for many.
Same type of case that was used for Star Trek ToS seasons 1 and 2 when they came out on HD-DVD......and yes I still have them, and watch them!!
And yes, these style cases are complete JUNK!!
Thank you for doing this review. While I wouldn't have bought it as it's only bluray, I will not consider it for anyone else I know. Keep at it man, love your channel!!
So 10 films 4 of which are available on 4k but all of them are only blurays and it won’t fit on the shelf. That plastic flipper case looks awful, no effort spent there. Why didn’t they put the uncut versions and features all on one 100gb disc?
Exactly that! I’m just going to keep on picking up the individual 4K releases as and when they become available
The intro rocks, dude! LMAO!🤣🤘
Haha! Thanks man!
Does it come with a Saw to get the discs out?
I still have the old Blu-Ray collection that I bought at Wal-Mart a few years ago. I have a couple of factory damaged discs in there that I'd need to replace, so this may be an option if I can't find standalone releases of the movies I need replaced. They had literal dings cut into them that caused the movie to skip entire chapters in some cases. Really crazy.
The old 8 film set actually has multiple films to a disc and absolutely no special features, so it is an upgrade from that for the US. Can't believe that we continue to see Lionsgate refusing to release both Theatrical and Unrated versions...in this day and age and Saw fans like to have both cuts. Just really wish that they would licence Saw to Arrow for physical releases. These are the exact same old discs and transfers btw. I am guessing they're doing this set as a way to get rid of their already pressed discs in preparation for a future 4k set. But that future 4k set will be hella underwhelming if it doesn't have both cuts of each film (three cuts for Saw 3). Some of the cuts are terrible when compared to the other, for instance I find the Saw II Unrated cut to be awful in comparison to the theatrical cut (the theatrical cut btw which has only been released on blu-ray in Japan so I had to import that to the UK ugh.) I hate Lionsgate....sitting on a goldmine....the biggest modern horror franchise and they literally dont care.
The reason behind that is theatrical cuts are pointless they were never meant to even exist saw movies all had to be cut to receive a r rating the unrated ones are the originally intended NC-17 Cuts directors prefer the only one with difference in stuff other than age rating is saw 4
But all the unrated versions are way superior to the point there is no need for theatrical cuts
@@bman6285 no that’s not true. there are many other differences and changes between the unrated and theatricals. Saw II for instance, the unrated cut on that is actually just all of the deleted scenes for the film put back in and then just slapped with “unrated” and all of those scenes were cut for good reason or for pacing and that version is far inferior. Likewise the theatrical version of the ending of Saw 3,4 and 6 are edited differently and are far superior. Dialogue and stuff cut from Saw 3 in its unrated version.
So no it’s not just that they added gore back that was cut out.
In at least half of the films the theatricals are much better. And on balance if I had to take all 7 films in one version or the other and I could only pick either the theatricals for all 7 or the unrated for all 7, easily would pick the theatricals. Not saying that there isn’t stuff in some of the Unrated that I don’t prefer because there is, like the structure of Saw V has been completely re edited and changed and has a much better pace in the unrated. But overall as a whole the theatricals are better films for the most part, but often it is 6 one and half dozen the other and you have to pick the lesser of two evils for each film which is why it is important to have both cuts as everyone has a different preference and it is important to have it as just a point of interest even.
Really wish this would've been a 4K boxed set but Blu-ray is still cool.
It will be eventually we just need to have a little bit of patience and wait this is the way the studios are they want to make as much money as they can so they're going to release a set that's in Blu-ray first and then they'll re-release a set in 4k so that they can take all the money they can get
@@scottramjoue5113 that is not the case digital remasters take a year non digital film takes 2-3 year's saw 1-6 are non digital saw 3d is 2k digital
@@bman6285 exactly what is not the case what are you talking about sir I am unclear about what you are saying to me I don't believe in any of my comments did I say anything about duration of remastering anything
@@scottramjoue5113 movies shot 2k are digital and films typically shot 4k are done with film
Which are 35mm negatives saw 1-6 all are film and saw 3d is 2k digtal
What a mess. Nothing like removing 5 discs to get to the one you want. Then you have to put everything back.
Nothing like it!
First of all, great intro. You need to do more of that. Now for this set, YES those brick cases should not be used for something like this. Especially at $75. I would much rather have a slimmer case with just the blu-rays only. Or Jigsaw could have built a booby trap box set so every time you try to grab a movie your hand would get chewed to pieces.
Ken's fingers were getting a little mangled trying to remove the discs, especially when the center ring wasn't budging.
Seeing what you're getting with this pkg and still buying it, is on them.
I think they should have had 1 case with the movies on bluray, kept in order, another case with DVD editions, and a 3rd with the special features.
When he was removing the discs, I was highly confused and I wouldn't have wanted to put them back, even though I like puzzles. lol
Ima try. Lol
The best part of the saw franchise is the rollercoaster at Thorpe park
Love intro 😂
That intro was literally than better than the opening of Scream 6...
Not exactly high praise, but I’ll TAKE IT!
That's a really cool set. I have like 2 complete collections all ready so I'm going to wait until they think they are done again to get another complete collection.
What a clusterfuck of a set 😂
Yes it is. 😂
This reminds me of the Better Call Saul complete series boxed set. Not sure why they're making these terrible sets for.
The Wife & I are both huge Saw fans and even though we own them all on Blu-ray, we were excited when this box set was announced as to have them all together in one box. But after viewing this unboxing, we're glad we didn't preorder. We were both shocked at the way the discs are packaged. We hope they do a better job if they release a 4K boxset, which, I personally would prefer. Still, for that many discs, & the price, Lionsgate could do a lot better, even have a space for Saw 11 when that arrives.
My complete set of TAXI came in a similar box and also arrived broken. I had to get a replacement from amazon.
Follow up I just got this surprisingly despite being crammed and stacked all the disc were clean no scratches or anything However it was missing the Blue Ray for Saw 4 sent Lionsgate a message Hoping they will send me a copy of the Missing Disc
I ordered a set kind of like this, but it's just blu rays, and they are all uncut, so there is no need for 27 or so disks.
Loved the intro. Great stuff 😊. As I saw fan I enjoyed it. But that disc stacking is horrible. I don't like that. But those cards are awesome
Thank you!
That intro was gold, Ken 😅 👍
Thank you!
I was kinda pumped for this release but your video saved me from buying this monstrosity 🤣 thx man
Saw will always be the best in the series, saw 2 isn't bad but after that for me the series just drops hard. Always thought it needed a bigger budget behind it and some names to other than Tobin. The timeline is convoluted at times only to keep it going and I wish that it can do more than just being gory. That stuff is good but I wish it was actually scary rather than something you only watch once just to see what crazy traps they come up with and that's it. The first one had something to it rather than just relying on gore imo that the rest especially after part 2 forgot about
Obviously, the Cronenberg Fly is the best. But the original is solid. The molecular transportation concept was advanced for it’s time. It also has that iconic “heeeelp me!” scene. The Fly II was much better then I expected.
Packaging is horrible; height of box is not going to fit in most video cabinet shelves and the disk holders are clumsy. The positives, you get 10 films on two formats, most with unrated or director cuts and special features for what amounts to 7 bucks a movie and you get digital code for all of the films (boutique labels always leave these out so good on LG for including them as that is a BIG selling point for me). I would say price isn’t going to deter folks. It really comes down to the box height and clumsy disk holders that will keep folks from buying it, IMO.
Initially I wasn't so interested in this set since there's no 4K releases in it, but I didn't realise it had both Blu-ray and DVD versions of the films. Do the DVDs have any extra content that's not on the Blu-rays? I know there are bonus feature DVDs included, but are these also on the Blu-rays? Do the DVDs have different cuts of the films? If the DVDs have unique content, then I might pick this set up, although there's always the chance that someone will eventually make a 4K box set with all these features included. Still wouldn't mind having this set while I wait for them to release a 4K set/range in some years from now. I also haven't watched Spiral or Saw X, so this would be a good excuse to watch them.
6 is pretty great.
Still waiting for a 4k boxset
I love them in their individual discs. In various Saw collections. They stick 2 movies in one disc and not include the special features.
i wish the dvd and bluray versions are sold as separate sets, would be cheaper upfront and the packaging would be less of a mess. Also wish saw 2-7 got 4k releases
They just lowered this to 49.95 so I will get especially since it includes saw 7 3d version
In short what's on the outside it's beautiful. What's on the inside is horrible and scary.
I have the Saw 1-8 collection and Spiral and Saw X individually. I'm happy with that.
Well, it is curious that mine came with all the discs correctly in order.
@@JohnKramerRules I'm not a fan of the big case, but I saw that there is a German edition of the boxset and it has a better design. The packagin is like a Digipack, The discs have different art, The pictures from the postals are printed on the slips, etc. But that edition includes only the cut versions instead of the unrated versions of the films and it's only Blu Ray discs, there are no DVD versions.
In this case I prefered the USA edition because of the bonus features DVDs and the Saw III Director's Cut DVD, but I really like the design of the other version.
This should be your intro every time moving forward
I thought that Michelle was Jigsaw and you had to play a game Ken LOL . So Ken when Saw 11 comes out will you be buying the 4k steel book box set with all 11 Saw films maybe next year? If something like that comes out?
That was her actually. Help!!!
That intro was well played!!!!
Thanks Rob!
Sucks not all the uncut version is not Blu-ray or 4K
Jigsaw is chell ... Cant tell me different 😂
Maaaaaaybe? Lol
Yeah I'm in total agreement, this packaging is bad. Ill stick with my Walmart steelbook set
Good review, much appreciated - found the pronunciation of Saw as "Saul" pretty unique, is that a regional thing?
You got skill Ken. That was some performance. 🏆
Thank you thank you. I have an Oscar for a reason ya know. 😎
I've got a box set from Via Vision that goes up to spiral, I think its far better than this. Saw, Jigsaw and Spiral are in 4k with the others in blu-ray. Also comes with a mini reverse bear trap.
I have the prison break tv show in a set like this its very to get the discs out of the packaging so I feel your frustration with the packaging I want to buy prison break again just on there own because I don't want the disc to get scratched but I will manage i cant wait for saw 11 i cant wait to get the full set whenever the movies are done filming. Ken great video man keep it up
There are some of those movies still on DVD, not even a Bluray?!
$7.20 per film is not bad, I have most on DVD so I am probably going to wait, but SAW is one of those franchises like Friday 13 that might never be completed.
Dam, this is crazy. Is there a set with just uncut blu rays ? Im not a fan of dvds
I don’t know why studio put Blu rays is a dvd case. Hate the stacking of the disc. They did the same with the Twilight series.
I'll be getting this soon
It's arriving on the 10th of July.
Too many discs for a case set-up like that lol what a nightmare.
I also got this set early, and it was a complete mess, exactly like how you show it in the video,
I organized them all in chronological order and what I found is that once all set in order there will be an extra slot I assume for saw 11 when that releases, some of the holders can hold 3 disc's.
I just want a 10 disk Blu ray only edition
The DVD’s have special features that the blu rays don’t though. It’s a good boxset but to each to own. I been swapping out my art cards at the beginning of each month as display and think it’s a great piece of SAW memorabilia. I have my boxset next to my old VHS tape of SAW and the Billy popcorn head and drink container. I love how everything I could ever need or want is housed in this boxset. And hey you might be the first one to say blu ray instead of 4K. SAW on 4K isn’t right for this series. Jigsaw, Spiral, and SAW X do since they have a newer look. Blu Ray is the way to go for these. Hope you enjoy this boxset cuz it’s everything you could ever want plus some! The art cards are so fun to swap out each month. I’m looking forward to July’s art card!
Give me a 4k set or don't bother me.
The blu-ray boxed set of the complete Babylon 5 series came in horrific case like that, minus the disc stacking (21 discs in all). I immediately purchased a set of five 4 disc cases to hold the individual seasons. I have the 8 film version of this plus all the ones that are out in 4k, so I will not be tossing away more $$ on this.
Imo this box set seems kinda sloppy and not executed well. I’m going to pass on this
This Box Set would have been immaculate if the disc tray design was better designed. And if the disc art was more newer and more detailed.
Also, Ken. Any chance we see a video from you talking about that new experimental 125TB optical disc format being developed?
Love saw but the Boxset complete garbage!!
After seeing this going to cancel my order!!
I hope Lionsgate does a 4K set soon.
A 4K Steelbook set would be money
Are they in spanish subtitles?
This set is freaking mess lmao but I'm tempted to get it. I already have the dvds but some were affected by disc rot already. Sad.
I mean if you don't have them, it's not a terrible option.
I am not a fan of those boxes. To get to a film on the bottom stack you have to remove all the ones above it, the trays always break, and it’s so tall. Clearly meant for DVD.
It’s not great that’s for sure.
The outside packaging, art cards, and disc art for each movie is awesome, but this release did not need both dvd and blu ray. 23 discs is WAY too many! 😵💫 They should have just released a dvd version of the set and a blu ray version like they usually do with sets like this.
You are right about that. It’s too much for this case
Same type of case that was used for Babylon 5 Blu-ray, a nightmare.
The Seinfeld complete series I have on DVD is in a similar box and it’s a nightmare to try and find the disc you’re looking for, I hate it
Epic intro 😂😂😂
You know what? The packaging might be ass. But I'll take this collection over the 9 film blu ray set I have. This one has the films on their own discs and contains all the special features. That 9 film collection that I have, I paid $20 for and has no special features. And the movies are stacked 2 to a disc.
Great point!
@midlevelmedia With that being said this is gonna be a wait for a sale or wait for a 4K set ordeal for me. But it's definitely tempting!
They should have released a box set in 4K
Love the cover art & art cards but this packaging is a hard pass for me. Why are they even bothering with DVDs?
I hate that kind of packaging. Saw 3 has 3 versions. The theatrical 108 minutes, Unrated 113 minutes and the Director's Cut 120 minutes. The DC was only released on DVD and hasn't had a blu-ray release. So that one is worth having in the set.
There wasn't a guy, passed out on the ground, with a walkman in his hand when you did that intro....................................was there??
Yeah, but he’s always been there. 😳
If they do something like this, why can't they release this in 4K?
Hello friend, I'm just curious why do you still buy Blu-rays of that caliber when they are probably just going to release a 4K set I just wait for the 4k's and they come out eventually I feel like it's a waste of money to buy a Blu-ray set especially if they're probably going to release it on 4K I'll just wait
This Saw set was sent to Ken for him to preview it.
He stated there were things with the packaging that would have pissed him off, if he spent his hard earned money on it.
@@frommatorav1 he buys Blu-rays all the time and then they come out in 4k it just seems sad to me that he does that
I assume you have all of the Brandon Cronenberg films also. His films are very much in the spirit of his father’s work.
Love his style!
lol I know Blu discs aren’t as fragile as 4K discs but I still cringed when Ken was putting the discs face down on the table lol….look can we just get the remaining Saw II to Final Chapter in 4K already?
Sorry bra
You have an interesting way of saying "Saw".
You should hear the way I say Jaws. lol
Lol, don't stop, Your videos are always entertaining.
Now then Ken, I want to play a game.
😮😮😮😮
Phase IV … directed by the man who created the logo for Kleenex. How crazy is that?
I’m excited to watch it soon!
Mfer
stacked discs
4 cards but there's 10 movies in set wtf
But one good thing they have disc art on all them
Better than any acting in the Saw films.
😂😂
@@midlevelmedia
I do like the Saw franchise. Just sayin'.😅
huge saw fan but ill be skipping this. seems like a slapped-together product that isnt really worthy of the 20th anniversary moniker. Hopefully we get a full 4k set with nice packaging for the 25th anniversary.
This is horribly packaged and no 4K. They are insane for this
It’s at Walmart now. To much for my blood. Lol
Gold star! 😂
It would have been better to avoid the DVDs and just go with the Blu Rays....or offer different box sets for each.
Watching how slapdash they've organized this collection makes me feel my ocd in my chest.
Jigsaws new torture device 23 Disc's that are from hell. What a Mess😮 Disc 24 will include this Video 😅
😂😂😂...That would be pretty cool. 😎
I just hope Tobin Bell can live long enough to make a few more saw movies. Isn’t he in his 80s. He certainly looks like he’s cracking on a bit bless him. I love Tobin Bell, very underrated actor. With regards to the boxset, what a god awful design.Truly terrible which is a shame, dodge this set like a bullet.
God. I’d buy just the box if I could. I own them all on iTunes, this DVD case is just disgusting
Open it up and find out how many disc there are! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
