    Hi, this vid was so helpful. I'm a sophomore in high school and self-studying for AP biology and AP psychology and when I first started with two prep books I had no idea what to do. I looked up so many other videos on how to memorize things or study for AP but they all were based on classes and couldn't be turned into something I could do self studying but this video is helping me with that. Again thank you so much for this and it has made me feel so much less stressed

    Funny cause I use Barron’s bio as my go to but have the Princeton and Kaplan as reference guides.

    Hello, I was wondering what you would do if you are self-studying for an ap exam but your school doesn't offer the exam?

      You can reach outside of your school/District. Some schools open up exams to other students because they do make a cut off it. Look up your school district's ap exam offerings and if they don't even have it looks for ones near u.

    Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. Just a question, but would you say that it’s possible to get a 5 on an ap exam without the actual class? I’m planning on doing this as a freshman for apes and ap psych just because they aren’t offered as a freshman. Also, would having a 5 on an ap exam help on your application even if the college doesn’t offer credits for that particular subject? Thanks a lot, and sorry if I was too confusing 😅

      I'm glad you found this helpful! And yes, it's entirely possible. Your main challenge will be keeping yourself accountable to study for the exam on top of everything else I'm sure you have going on.
      And yes, a 5 on an ap exam is a great way to strengthen your application, regardless if schools accept it as credit.

    hello, this video was really helpful, but can you please provide us with some of the most trusted and best online courses or classes that we can find on CZcams as a reference or a guidance to study from? I would really appreciate it!

    Hello there, is it significant to take the AP courses without taking the exam because of a family financial status? Will that be a reason for universities?

    Hey ! I have a question. How late can you send transcripts of your results to colleges ? As it's not in my hand, will it affect my application ? Is there any chance not to get accepted?

      Hey there! I recommend checking the application requirements of the colleges you applied to.

      @@nishauprety9878 Great questions! I recommend getting started on the test prep books after winter break. I also recently posted a video on how to study for the essay sections of the AP exam. I share several strategies as well. Check it out! czcams.com/video/9zXVzYnXNy4/video.html

    I'm not sure if you still respond, but prep books are for studying after learning things right? or does it teach you from the beginning?

    • @CollegeLead
      @CollegeLead  Před 2 lety

      I still respond! I don't have time to make another video, since I'm focused on helping my students through the college application cycle.
      It really depends on the book. Some books (the thicker/longer ones) have more explanations, while others (typically shorter/condensed) expect a certain level of familiarity. Generally, I recommend starting earlier (~December) rather than later. Try to target getting through at least have of a prep book over winter break. If your teacher hasn't covered a topic yet, then search that topic in your textbook, watch online videos about it, and then reread that section in the prep book. Good luck!

    How do you sign up for these exams? As a self study

    • @CollegeLead
      @CollegeLead  Před 8 měsíci

      The process is probably different from when I did this process years ago. I contacted local public and private schools to see if they would allow me to register for the exam with their students who were taking the test already. I'd recommend researching online and contacting the College Board to explore what your options might be. Good luck!
