My AP test is May 5th, I've read every part of the textbook so far and I take notes from both class and the textbook, also managed to pick up a practice booklet from a someone who took this class before... hoping this goes well.

I never payed attention in history and I’m a freshman so it feels like AP Human geo is my first history class I’m taking which is why it feels so hard for me but thank you very much. I always come back to this video to get motivated lol

Aquarius rose25 Dw we all take a little adjusting to the curriculum - don’t let an initial bad grade set you back! I got a D- my first AP world test and ended up doing fine on the actual exam. You got this, and I’m glad this helped!

Freshman here! My exam is in 12 days and i’m currently starting to study for it😭😭 I think I have a good idea of the whole course so far and I hope I can at least get a 3 on the exam, overall the whole course was very interesting to learn about now im just stressing over the exam but ill make sure to try my best🙏🏽

this is my first year in high school and i’m taking HGAP for the first AP class i’ve ever done, do you have any tips for beginners on note taking and reading the textbook?
sorry for my late response!! honestly, i would just define a bunch of the terms and skip the filler info. usually, the important stuff is bolded or at the end of the chapter. never sit down and read the whole thing - skimming is better or else you'll be there for hours (take it from me, i spend 8 hours on ap notes at first) also depending on the textbook you have, there are outlines for each chapter online and those are much better/easier to read through

if you’re into politics/current news, go for aphug! if youre not sure/just want to understand a lot of why we do what we do (trust me i analyzed all my relationships after taking the exam), go for ap psych :)

i took a prac multiple choice from the one in 2006 and got a 65%. my bro got a 5 and said ppl usually get a 50% on multiple choice. im nervous abt the frqs tho

I’m really scared to take the exam in a few months because while I have been rereading chapters and studying and paying attention, you never know when you get to the exam. My class is also using the National Geographic textbook this year, which hasn’t been done before at my school. I’m so nervous and the workload is so much.

I self-studied using the Princeton Review book. For some reason ~35% of the content wasn't even mentioned in the multiple choice and it asked some stuff I didn't see in the review book. Did this happen when you took it or is this year's exam just weird?
you'll definitely find that not everything can be covered (due to the length of the exam) and a few things might show up that you never learned (it just happens sometimes), but i have heard that exams are harder than usual this year. i've guessed on some things on every exam ive taken, i wouldnt sweat it
my school doesn't allow ap human geo until jr year and its an online class so I'm going to just get it over with this year lol wish me luck!

hii!! i'm taking the exam in about 3 weeks and i've done the course for the whole year! for the first 1-5 units though, it was hard for me to focus since i was virtual. what tips do you think would be effective for relearning/reviewing that content?
hi, i know you didnt ask me but i personally recommend watching mr. sinn and mr. baier on youtube and taking physical notes. unit 2 and 4 were the longest and had the most important material but if you understand them they're actually so fun and interesting (unit 4 is my fav unit). but yeah understanding the dtm in unit 2 was at first hard but i found mr. sinn's channel and its really helpful, same with unit 4. my teacher at school has a youtube channel called 'Baier's Guide To A Five' and he has a lot of videos and reviews for units 1-5 i think so you should really check him out.

@@naylasjimenez yeah, since it's just reviewing and relearning that seems fine. i also dont like reading textbooks because they feel like im cramming in so much info and its not very efficient. i just watched those videos and took notes, and understood the core concepts because the main big concepts are likely going to be the ones asked on the test.

lol idk if you’ll respond to this but how would you recommend studying, i bought the 2021 version of the princeton review but idk where to start studying lol. i haven’t finished the course yet (i only need unit 7) so i’m a little stuck on where to start. the only thing we do in class is take notes on the videos collegeboard provides and that’s mostly it lol.

Watch the videos and memorize as much vocab and relevant information as possible. If anything remember the vocab, and then any countries that are significant to do with that topic. Take a practice test. Reevaluate your strengths and your weaknesses. Do as much research that you can on your weaknesses. Take another practice test and then keep doing that.
I’m a freshmen in high school and I got a 84 on my first exam, then a 94 and then a 100 for the mid term. But now my grades are going down I’m getting 88, 81, 74. So idk if it’s because I’m getting worn out or because I’m not understanding the content as much.

What would you recommend just to not be as stressed and what year of the Princeton review would u recommend this year? still the 2019 or a later edition?
also, how do u make sure u remember everything you practiced in the book or other places? i cant Quizlet the whole textbook lol and I'm sure that whatever I'm studying now I will end up forgetting by the test and what do u think abt the AMSCO textbook we have been using it in school
K im sorry for all the questions but last one: How do u know all of the geography questions for example which country is the most ____. These questions cause me so much struggle and I don't know how to study for them.
2019 princeton review should still work! and tbh you will have to quizlet the whole textbook (the vocab at least) and if that doesn't work for you maybe create study guides. quizlet has always been most convenient for me but def try out things that work out best for you. ive never tried the amsco textbook, but i've never liked using textbooks for ap prep anyway and focus mainly on the princeton review/barrons. as for the geography questions, id just take as many practice problems/tests available to you as possible for you to get used to them, you tend to find the same questions eventually.
I’m taking this class and we have to answer 50 questions in 50 minutes.. it’s so hard
Omg for our class we had 3 tests already for the same class and she also gives us like 1 min or less per question... I did bad on all 3 tests the highest I got was a C but lets just Rey our best!
Our first test we had to take 70 questions in 55 mins
I'm planning on self-studying for this year, because I will have more time because of Corona. I have only taken WHAP so far in high school, but I got a 5! Have you taken Apush or Ap Spanish? I'm taking those this year. If so, how did you prep for them?
I'm a German gal but I did take APUSH! Prep for APUSH is relatively similar to World, I just wrote a bunch of outlines for each unit and highlighted terms/events. You have to memorize a lot more in APUSH in comparison to World so I practiced with Quizlet and SAQs (writing down the content helps reinforce it into memory). I also watched review vids (Crash Course, Adam Norris, JoczProductions) religiously. Honestly if you got a 5 for World then you def have the skills already for APUSH :)

I'm taking this class in my freshman year, and even though I have appx a year before I have to take this exam, I think this was helpful overall (especially since we have to take a midterm for all of our classes and im shit at studying for them)

I would recommend buying the book. Depending on where you buy it from, you can get it for as little as 14 bucks.

Milena N. Not sure which section you’re referring to-but I don’t remember saying effort cues so I don’t think so. You just need to talk to your counselor to be able to be registered for the exam! Last year I just went and took it at my school even though I wasn’t enrolled in a class. If you’re homeschooled it might be different, sometimes they administer it at the school district building too

Hey! I'm a freshman right now taking this course and what I would say is to buy a prep book and start looking through it and studying vocab on the app "iscore5aphug". But honestly there's no need for you to study in advance because it might be to confusing since you haven't learned any of the material yet.
Honestly, I agree with the comment above mine. You don’t really need to prepare. Everyone starts on the same playing field. If you were really excited to learn about geography, then buy a Human Geography Textbook, but I honestly don’t think that you would understand much because you have not taken the class.

hey, I am in the mr sinn discord server and I’m currently in unit 4/7 and most of the students there are done with all units (this meaning our class is very far behind), I like my teacher, but I don’t think he will be enough to pass because we are rushing through units now. Do you think I should get the prince review book thingy or binge watch mr sinn vids what do you think I should do?

Hey, same with my teacher, we haven't gone over all content and he's rushing. I say you should binge Mr sinn, make sure you study and know all the vocab for each unit and know what everything means, also take some practice exams and frqs. This is honestly what I'm going to do. Best of luck

Hi!! I will be a sophomore next year and I was thinking of AP World, AP Seminar, and AP Psychology. I also do a sport and karate in which I would be busy from 3-5 then again from 6-7. Is this too much for me? I currently take an AP class now and I could definitely do two, but idk about three?
that might be a lot, are you doing alright now? i went from 1 to 7 (lol) 10th to 11th grade, but yeah youll need to manage your time, plus i remember after sports i could never study. ap world and seminar is a lot of work, but psych is less from my experience

You should really deep dive into the APHuG test structure. I would watch mr.Sinns FRQ video and do a ton of practice FRQ’s. It is not mostly vocabulary.
