Dr. Buzzard’s Savanna Band is my absolute fave LP....every song, especially ‘Sour & Sweet’ + ‘Sunshower’ ‘Hard Times’......
I can listen to the whole LP 6 hrs straight. REAL instruments, great delivery by great musicians.
When I was a kid, Saturdays was our day for chores. My little brother and I would debate over who would clean the bathroom and who would clean the kitchen. Mom would put on music and we would all proceed to tidy up our little NYC, five story walk up, apartment. This song was one of my absolute favorites. Actually the entire album. I would slightly shake my hips (not too much, didn't want mom accusing me of being too grown) while drying the dishes and imagine what Tommy Mottola looked like walking down a dirt road looking for the lady he lost 2 months ago. Great memories. Great music. All hail the queen, Miss Cory Daye!!!

Made me cry when Cory took to the mic. I'd have melted into a puddle had I been there to see her live.
She's still got 'IT' and is just as amazing as ever - Cory Daye shaped a lot of memories for me, and her presence is just incredible. I would love for them to do a full tour - so I could have the privilege of hearing her & the rest of the Coconuts/Dr. Buzzard's together again.
When the world reopens and shows return, this is what I will travel miles to see. Cory Daye and August "Kid Creole" Darnell of Dr. Buzzard's Original Savanah Band together, yes!

They were outside the box in style , musical approach and dress and they were well received .

Tbh I think she's struggling to be heard above the band, and thats causing her vocal problems. Everyone knows Cory is better than this and if she can't hear herself then that's not her fault. I don't think what the band is playing is even recognisable until she starts to sing.
This is truly history in the making. Glad to see it.
I'm actually sad to see this...they should have never broken up. I ran into Corey Day on 8th Street just before she was releasing her Solo album that didn't click....Savannah Band was a snapshot in time that will never happen again. My fondest memory is dancing with them at This And That Gallery Inc. (The Gallery) private club in Soho....

Sounds fine to me! I smiled all the way through. Actually teared up a little when Cory Daye came out. I am a LIFELONG Dr. Buzzard OSB enthusiast. Their sound will NEVER be duplicated.

Corey is a shadow of her old self, I heard she went through some serious illness and it took her voice and range. Just nice to see shes still around :)
Her presence is still as commanding. It is expected for range to change with age, but she sounds fine to me!

I haven't seen them since 1977 when I went to Burbank for their second album. My first wife use to baby sit for Andy's girl friend back then on N Hobart in Los Angeles

I don't think Cory can hear herself...a bit pitchy...possibly because the venue needs better monitors for the lead. It still was wonderful to see and hear her!
The band was tight but she sang in another key for both songs. Was difficult to listen too

This was NOT that bad.
I love this song, I love Cory, I love the Kid and all the great musicians and songs, but I'm sorry, Cory is flat-out wasted. You can see Kid creole is trying to help her out with the cues. If you've seen the other clip, when Stephanie Fuller turns up, the energy level goes through the roof. And shes not even a singer.
