- It is the final video in the series - the Balkans ends, as we head to the South of Croatia to shoot on an old Farm Estate - looking for cool compositions in a chapel and externally. I look at why it is important to be selective in architecture photography.
Next week I will run a Croatia Overview Video - as I look ahead to returning to the region for more scouting trips in 2025.

You touched on a subject that is probably still my achilles heel James and that is taking too many images. Tends to happen more when using zoom lenses as I will change the focal length when capturing an image and as a result end up with more images than needed. The tilt-shifts have made me more selective and slows me down more and one of the reasons I use them as much as I can these days. In terms of your image choices this week, I quite liked the first horizontal image as I think it allowed the recessed area to have more prominence as the walls coming in from the left and right in the main floor area create a feeling of space then the recess emphasised the depth. Hope the temperatures have came down a bit for you. Was in London last week shooting architecture and it was in the high 20s and humid so can only imagine how it must have been for you with the temperatures you highlighted
Crazy heat wave it has been across the entire region for weeks and weeks now. I knew it was going to be a hot summer, when I ran my Romania trip in April - we were all expecting Spring weather and it was in the late 20s the full 8 days, a sign of intent for sure!
I've told my Rijeka photo friends about your Rijeka videos, and you wouldn't believe the first question they came up with. They wanted to know whether you had a permit to fly the drone. 😆😂🤣
@FerdoFulgosi it's a good question. In those two videos, I believe there is only 1 clip or 2. In the others more - I actually used stock video clips for some of the seascape and city ones from Artlist (I have a subscription) and the rural ones were from my own drone (where nobody cared as I was in the middle of nowhere). 😊
I preferred the landscape one myself.. great video again..

The 24mm for me, too much clutter sometimes less works
Man you are soaking there. I think both of the images look good in their own right. I like that expansive opening from the landscape version raising from inside the sanctuary out into the wide. Definitely. I also like the horizontal one, I like the soaring (crack in the) ceiling going into an exceeding expanse. Both of the images work.
I was in Croatia down the coastline. What is your impression of Bosnia, or do you have any?

I only spent a matter of 48 hours or so total in Bosnia. But I must say the landscapes are pretty spectacular - we stayed in Mostar on the drive to Montenegro (which is touristy of course but nice) but further East, the main route from Kotor to Sarajevo is stunning. Some of this will be on the channel next April now too - check next weeks video for more images and feedback.

I think I prefer the 17mm shot to the 24. And, i would have liked to make more of the roundal light on the wall but, that's me.
On the farmhouse. Rather than crop the sensor, you could have used tge 1.4 extender. Just a thought.
I think I cut that bit from the video - I left it back in Istanbul for the "holiday" trying to save a little weight - typically I needed it. 100% it would be better to use an extender - no crop.
