The early 2000s were a strange time to be alive. I'd binge watch this show with my friends back in college and think nothing of it. Now I look back and think to myself how did this ever even get aired lol.
Same! I grew up watching this (hella explains A L O T M8) and rly didn’t think anything of it. Now I’m like what the actual fuck was I watching and why was this allowed anywhere. Some of them still send me laughing tho. Giant hand is a classic and even tho it’s so dangerous Electric Avenue sends me just bc once my brother tased himself and once he was awake he was still super out of it and he was like “Am I gonna be on jackass?”

My parents were split, so I remember being frustrated with not being allowed to watch anything above my age limit when I was with one. But literally falling asleep to films like Jackass, Snakes on a plane, and Piranha when I was with the other lol
(I did enjoy kids movies as well, I wasn't a total psycho)

As a person from a country where bullfighting still exists that particular scene wasn't as crazy as the others. He handled the bull well tbh, a little clunky though.

I forced my arthouse loving roommate to see the first Jackass movie, and, exactly like you, just as he started, he said "I´m gonna lose some brain cells watching this". Within a minute, he was literally doubled over with laughter, and remained that way the whole film.
It’s the only movie I’ve walked out of with a headache from laughing so much.

@manny To be honest I don't really like Jackass, it's not particularly funny to me.
tbh im not super happy with some of the treatment of animals in jackass. a lot of time they provoke wild animals who clearly only strike when threatened. other times animals are just straight up used as props and are in serious danger, like the snake pit prank. i was hoping that the animal related stuff would calm down since steve-o's a big animal rights activist now and is also a producer on jackass forever but it looks like it's just as bad if not worse :/

I had 3 guy friends in high school reenact a few of them for a physics project. Gotta say, funniest damn physics project I have ever witnessed. xD
Which was absolute horseshit. My friends and I were doing the same shit you see in their early episodes before during and after Jackass, and my aunts and uncles have the same stories. Kids and teens have all kinds of stupid, dangerous fun. If at 17 you'd given me a contract for a big chunk of change to stand in a ball pit with two anacondas, I'd be down. Shit, I'd probably still do it at 35

I love how Asian people react to Jackass. I live in China and showed jackass to a few of my friends. At first they are repulsed and asking questions akin to “why would they do this, it’s so stupid” but eventually…. They start to laugh and admit that it’s hilarious. Jackass is loved around the globe! Can’t wait for the new one!

This show used to be big in my household. Lol my brothers and I never missed an episode 😂😭 they’re crazy af. Not even half the crazy shit they’ve done.
this was great! Jackass is automatically dismissed by most people as just stupid, but it is truly underrated. these guys are fearless and know how to entertain and be genuinely funny while doing it. it's a great show.
and these ones aren't even the most extreme ones, i still remember when Bam, Ryan and Johnny stood in front of a non-lethal Anti-personnel mine blast or when steve-o chugged a beer down his rectum, me and my friends tried to recreate some of the stuff we would see in the show and got seriously injured a lot of the time but the laughs are still here with us

I own a few snakes as pets and I feel sorry for the snake… the snake is extremely stressed and you can see the snake accidentally bit itself.
I own a boa and sand boa and I couldn’t imagine putting them through that much stress. It made me more stressed looking at the snake then it did Johnny’s dumb ass

I love jackass, but majority of them were on drugs to even attempt stunts like they did. Atleast for the first few movies. I don't think with the new ones because they aren't as reckless.

Actually most of the guys were sober... They would drink as any other group of males in their early 20s but the only guys in the group that struggled with addiction are Steve-O and later Bam. The rest of the guys only drank but proved to be a big part in getting Steve-O sober now and it is known that they have done a lot to try to get Bam clean but told him with the recent film coming out that he couldn't be apart of it if he couldn't stay sober and he couldn't... Steve-O is completely sober now and STILL does this crazy $hit. The Jackass guys don't do all this stuff because they are "high"... they are adrenaline junkies and entertainers. They've lasted this long and continue to have fans/viewers so people are watching. You either find it hilarious and watch it or you don't. They are Jackasses after all

Other shows like sorry to disappoint you are fake are mostly on History Channel, the car crap, the selling crap (pawn stars)..... all proven fake. I wasn't allowed to watch this show when it was popular, so I was right there with them reacting for the first time. I guess I do appreciate that they only seem to prank and endanger themselves unlike the jackass pranksters on CZcams and TikTok.

These guys are insane and that's why I just love them and always will.
They were super popular when I was in middle school too it's because they would do the most extreme and grossest pranks now there is some nasty ones as well but they're pretty extreme. I like them .
They have more than 4 movies like this and many more before the Jackass series. Surprisingly no one has died all throughout the filming for 15+ years. Sadly one died because of a car accident (but not related to the movie). This year 2022 they will release a last film called Jackass Forever, to closeout one of the craziest movie series ever. And a tribute to their friend who died, Ryan Dunn. I'm happy to say this guys were a big part of my 2000s, and still is today. JACKASS FOREVER!

The amountnof excitement I got from seeing this, I wasn't expecting y'all to dig up this chaos of the 2000's
even though a lot of what they did was questionable at best, they had a very strong bond and helped each other through a lot of things, including addiction and death. a huge part of why it’s so engaging is because you can feel their brotherhood. wildboyz was also sooo funny and much more contentious!

They actually just did a part for shark week where they had a guy jump a thing of sharks but he fell short and actually got attacked by a shark.

I grew up in Knoxville and my father actually taught Johnny and his mother still goes to a local church.
He was at a screening for Jackass 2 in Knoxville that I went to with my friends in middle school.
There were a couple of boys at my high school that wanted to be on their show or movie and filmed themselves doing one of their shopping cart stunts where someone rides in the shopping cart down something dangerous like stairs or a steep hill. They decided to ride the shopping cart down the stairs by the football field without protective gear. One of them hit his head on the concrete and had to go to the hospital. We had daily reminders in the announcements not to follow Jackass stunts after that. They also started putting disclaimers about trying their stunts on their shows and movies because there were several cases of kids getting hurt trying their stunts and many people sending in videos to the show.
As a kid I enjoyed watching this, very entertaining. As an adult I feel uncomfortable watching some of these.

There was a guy not too long ago that jumped out of the plane without a parachute and landed in a huge ass net and walked away safely. The best jackass bit for me was Johnny trying to skateboard down a handrail. It was the pro skaters laughing after he tried that did it in for me.
