I bought the 2021 model a month ago based on your recommendation and am really happy with it. It is really on another level to any of the other cheaper tablets that I have owned. The 2022 model luckily for me isn't much of an upgrade, else I would be kicking myself. Mine has the 870 which is probably a better processor out of the 2. Although I see Giztop have a 2022 version with it in, in the options.
Hi... Just get european model (P11 Pro Gen 2), 8/256Go...yes, it's more expensive (549-50€), but it stays great considering the features (especially the OLED screen you haven't even on far more expensive tabs). I must add, it's currently the only tab that supports AV1 hardware decoding in Europe. It's futureproof for legal streaming! iPad or 8 gen 1 based devices have to do software decoding (high CPU and power consumption). European model has only 20W charger...charge lasts more than 2 hours
Buy smart, don't just buy expensive. Most of the stuff those have you're never going to use, and many times, you're very well off with something 2-3 times cheaper. This tablet literally proves that you can do productivity and as well as entertainment with a great display...at an Amazing price....(looking at you Samsung 👀) props to lenovo!!!
Lenovo is far behind in terms of software support. An Android tablet should receive (security) updates for at least 5 years in my opinion. This is the reason why I bought a Lenovo Chromebook duet tablet a couple years ago. It has 7 years of software support, and updates are supplied by Google.
Finally! A new tablet that ticks (nearly) all the boxes (oled, GPS, good CPU, battery). Great work as always Chris. I've just checked the Lenovo UK store and this is listed as the tab P11 pro (2nd Gen) (£349) I had to buy it ;)
I just got the previous model from AliExpress couple of days ago, I was deliberating whether to get the 2021 or 2022, but the 2021 looked better for me because of metal build and slightly better SoC, absolutely fantastic machine replacing my ipad air 4th gen
Either way you can't go wrong. It's a shame we lost the metal frame but gained 120hz and a better sharper-looking screen. By the way the frame still feels fine.
I agree with metal build, it looks better and will definitely feel better. But you could have gotten the 8GB variant with same SOC. Either way you can't go wrong though

I got my Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 from China with SD870 SoC and 8+128G for US$360 which works really good. The screen is brilliant and it's very smooth. The speakers are great. When watching 4K viedeos on CZcams, the pictures are stunning. I am very happy with it.

Love your honest reviews. Its really a great help. I've been considering this tablet for quite some time. I just want to ask if what would be better, the default china firmware or have ir converted into global? Considering I live outside China. Thanks for noticing.
Here in my region (USA) the processor will be the Snapdragon 870, which basically runs neck in neck with the entry-level iPad's A13. Could be an interesting alternative for someone that wants an Android tablet with the option for a keyboard and stylus.
This tablet is good, ngl. But I'm still perfectly happy with my almost 1-yr old Mi Pad 5 256GB that I bought for $300. Though, Lenovo's software is arguably better than MIUI for Tablet.
@@Techtablets I asked at the time of your Mi Pad 5 review what Xiaomi's update policy was goig to be, because on the Mi Pad 4 it was very lacking. Again on the 5 then. Hopefully you'll double-check *and mention the issue* if a Pad 6 ever comes out. Lenovo update policy ain't great (Samsung's is better), but it's... OK I guess, 2yrs mostly. We know updates are an issue. Reviewers should check and publicize.
Chris, sorry to bother you again.. If you was buying a tablet now, would you buy this or the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro? I'm leaning towards this because of the amoled screen. Thanks..
Close to perfection The day Android becomes ideal is when dimensity 8100 comes to tablet Seriously even for 5years,no soc can literally beat that in value/performance/efficiency for 1080p screens🏆
If it had a 3.5mm HPJ it would have been perfect! It's really the only thing. Currently Netflix is SD, but Amazon Prime FHD, Disney and others. Netflix just needs to white list it for FHD. It will happen soon. Dimensity 8100 tablet would be great.

Amazon prime it does and Dolby Vision I’ve seen come up. But Netflix it’s not acknowledging the widevine lv1 cert it has for some reason it might take a while.
Missing full HD for Netflix is a deal breaker for me, shame. But gotta admit oled 120hz display at this price it's an awesome deal, will keep an about updates about Netflix working in full capacity
I bought the US version because I thought the Chinese version didn't have Google Play. I later found out in some forums that you can download it from Lenovo's app store. Kicking myself. I could have bought the Chinese one for $100 less... and the US one I got came with 4GB or memory rather than 6GB.
Purchased this, however, there doesn't seem to be a global rom or clear guide to root. XDA forum is lacking clear data on this device. Hope more information is released soon.
They dropped the 400mAh battery, Ultrawide rear cam, 3D ToF front cam for GPS, 30Hz higher refresh rate, magnetic pen. Only minor upgrades. They can call this the Pad Plus and I would believe it more.

Hi Chris. Is the HDR working on CZcams? Also do you have the HDR logo when you check the video on Amazon? Same for Netflix? I remember on your video for the 2020 model it was available. Thank you !!!
I have got it on my Lenovo P11 Plus though. CZcams in HDR. Lenovo does not fall under the devices that support HDR Netflix, only WideVine L1. You can see the supported devices on their support-list. I havent checked the HDR licenses for streaming apps suchs as Prime or Disney+ but i believe HBO Max app supports HDR10.

I honestly find MX Player Pro to be a better video player app for Android than VLC.. primarily because it uses less storage. By that what I mean is that for no reason at all VLC always seems to generate new thumbnails for videos each and every time I opened the bloody app... causing my device memory to always go full. I kid you not at.. one point the themnail folder took up about 4GBs of my 128GB phone for only 40+ full length movie files. That's like more than 20 thumbnail images per video and a few songs. MX Player Pro on the other hand is much smarter. Once a thumbnail is generated then that's the only one MX Player Pro will use everytime. Unless you cleaned the old ones out and then it'll generate new ones. And if we're talking about UI and Codecs.. it's not even close. MX Player Pro wins.. hands down.

A comparison to other pads at the Benchmark part would be great.
Ordered it two days ago. I hope there is a posssibilty to flash the P11 pro Rom soon.
Great review as always Chris! I saw that it comes with snapdragon 870 and 8gb of ram! Which version do you think is the best? I suspect the one with the snapdragon but I worry about throttling! What do you think about it?
No the 870 is good and it has 2GB more RAM and faster charge. Depends if you need that but it's $100 more I don't think it's worth it but up to you.
What is charging speed difference?
@@MrDeikas 68w vs 30w
Love your honest reviews. Its really a great help.
I've been considering this tablet for quite some time. I just want to ask if what would be better, the default china firmware or have ir converted into global? Considering I live outside China.
Thanks for noticing.
I second this.
Can you please review the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7? I'm thinking of buying it but I can't find a review in English online
Maybe not sure if I buy one.
Here in my region (USA) the processor will be the Snapdragon 870, which basically runs neck in neck with the entry-level iPad's A13. Could be an interesting alternative for someone that wants an Android tablet with the option for a keyboard and stylus.
It's possible to buy it in the EU too, but the Snapdragon version costs $100 more. At least you get 68W fast charging, instead of 30W, for those $100.
And 2GB more RAM. I don't think its worth it unless you multitask like crazy.
The only reason to get it over this one
Is Emulation
@@Techtablets In 3 or 4 years of app updates you're gonna wish you went with the extra ram I think. 😉
@@lmartins2797 mediatek has av1 decode. so it is more futureproof for high quality video.
Hi. Is this tablet Netflix certified? "Widevine L1"
It supports Widevine L1!
Hi! Does this have productivity mode and the capacity to act as a wireless second screen ? Thanks! Love your work!
Not that I know of
Hi Chris,
Both chinese versions (Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 / MTK Kompanio 1300T) have Widevine L1 certified?
They should yes.
@@Techtablets Thanks for your quick reply Chris! 👍🏼
Hello Chris, do you recomand this one over the mi pad5?
Ah looks so good, Lenovo Italy is asking 499€ for the Kompanio model, quite steep
This tablet is good, ngl. But I'm still perfectly happy with my almost 1-yr old Mi Pad 5 256GB that I bought for $300. Though, Lenovo's software is arguably better than MIUI for Tablet.
Yes the software is the big difference. Yeah just recently sold my Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G as I got free up with MIUI and the lack of updates
I am fascinated by crazy low prices you find. Year latter and cheapest ones i see are 460$
Chris, sorry to bother you again.. If you was buying a tablet now, would you buy this or the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro? I'm leaning towards this because of the amoled screen. Thanks..
Was it still worth buying now?
Yes, 120hz OLED and a decent CPU that stays cool
The sd 870 version
Yes
@Yosef-ok7gu Why do the sellers say it's LCD screen?
Hello Chris! Can you review also the official pen(precision pen 3) for this tablet(lenovo pad pro 2022)
Close to perfection
The day Android becomes ideal is when dimensity 8100 comes to tablet
Seriously even for 5years,no soc can literally beat that in value/performance/efficiency for 1080p screens🏆
If it had a 3.5mm HPJ it would have been perfect! It's really the only thing. Currently Netflix is SD, but Amazon Prime FHD, Disney and others. Netflix just needs to white list it for FHD. It will happen soon. Dimensity 8100 tablet would be great.
@@Techtablets yeah fingers cross
Almost a decade ago,Lenovo was bottom on my list because of the issue i had with their K3 note but i love the gigantic A880..gud move by them to focus on Tablets, they make quality ones now👍👍
Kudos to them and ofcourse to ur review😄
@@Techtablets is this tablet support Ldac ?
It doesn't seem to, in my experience only Qualcomm high end chipsets do. Never seen it with MediaTek.
@@mantapdjiwa9768 I haven't any LDAC headphone to test, but I see the following codecs in "developpers options" : SBC, AAC, Aptx, Aptx HD, LDAC. European model...
i cant find this in aliexpress. did someone has a link? the branding model name in this company is a mess
Compared to the Xioaxin Pad Pro 2021, would this one have the best display? But, on the other hand, the old model has the best Soc with SD870.
So would the best choice be the cheapest model we can find?
you can get this one with sd870 too. but it costs extra 90$, but you also get +2gb ram
@@ligametis thank you
Been waiting for this
Does it support HDR while viewing streamed content through Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, or HBO Max? 🤔
Ah that's a shame oh well for the next release!
Purchased this, however, there doesn't seem to be a global rom or clear guide to root. XDA forum is lacking clear data on this device. Hope more information is released soon.
I don't think it can be yet, locked boot loader?
@@Techtablets, BL unlocked mate. Accessible from settings, which is great.
Great review. Does it have screen mirroring to tv?
They dropped the 400mAh battery, Ultrawide rear cam, 3D ToF front cam for GPS, 30Hz higher refresh rate, magnetic pen. Only minor upgrades. They can call this the Pad Plus and I would believe it more.
Screen is a massive upgrade
based on a few comments it looks like the pentile display is gone. that was the biggest drawback on the previous two iterations of the Pad Pro.
Great to se more quality tablets coming in. Xiaomi pad 5 pro 12.4 any soon on the test?
Hopefully.
Thank you for your great review. Gizmochina review they mentioned ( the 2022 model adds a screen plastic protective stand, making it look cheaper ) what do they mean ?
Not sure what they mean by that at all very odd. Sounds like a translation gone wrong 😑
Does this have the black crush issue the 2021 model has where greys look awful in low brightness conditions?
please, does anyone know this new 2022 version low light bleeding screen solved? previous version 2021 screen look very horrible when in dark mode and low light mode
I wanted to know that, he never mention about that 🤔
thank god i saw ur comment before i order it
How is Xiaoxin multitasking compared to Samsung Dex?
I really want this tablet. Only negative is that it doesn't have 5g data or lte at the least
I think there is a sim version but only in China and harder to get
@@Techtablets maybe i should wait a bit longer. your recommended alldocube iplay40 is still very capable after a year. i usually game on my tablet away from wifi.
looks better than 2021 version, could test desktop mode , Samsung dex needs competition
Man. looking forward to these tablets from Lenovo. What more can it offer on the next release?
Not a lot more maybe if they brought back the 3.5mm Jack ? That would be good
So, who are the Duet 3 & 5 marketed to? Also, I have a Xiaomi Mi8 Lite, no 3.5mm jack and the dongle supplied NEVER works! Have purchased replacement dongles which also don't work.
I am sold after watching this review. cancelled mi pad 5 and going for this
This has better software. I just sold my Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G as I’m feed up with MIUI and the lack of updates
Hey, great review!
I have a question. Is it possible that they downgraded the screen? Current Pad Pro 12.7 on Giztop says it has 12.7" 2.9K LCD screen, not and OLED or AMOLED
How would this tablet be like for Lightroom and basic video editing on the go ?
Hi! What about the non pro version? The xiaoxin pad 2022. Is it worth the buy? Thanks!
How does the performance compare to the Snapdragon 870 version?
Very similar there isn't much in it. Slightly better with the 870 version.
you need to get a TechTablets T-shirt Tbh (a TTT).
Got one and wear it in most videos. I forgot to put in on here
P.S maybe Vans paid me hundreds of thousands and a free Tesla S Plaid for wearing their T-shirt :D This is sadly how most people think...
Dude I can't access my War Robots account with the Robots I use to go into battle lobbies with Snapdragon 😟 so will have to uae a Mediatek tablet, but still they pretty powerful still.
I have seen someone use an Honor V7 Pro - 8GB RAM that should be enough for gameplay, I hope in future they will add RAM expansions for both Snap. and Mediatek.
Hey!
Giztop is an non eu seller, and therefore one should have to pay the custom fees if you import from them (in Europe) How much did you have to pay?
The precision pen 2 works with this model.
Really?
MX Player Pro wins.. hands down.
I'll have to try MX Player Pro thanks for the tip. 4GB in thumbs is a huge amount!
I bought one of those It was a huge mistake after some weeks the screen turns Black and that was It.
Seems like you got a bad batch
What would you choose, this or Xiaomi pad 5/ 5 pro?
Seems to me like Lenovo is filling the void that Huawei left, and Xiaomi is falling behind.
Doesn't seem to be readily available atm. Is available from your link for $340 or so including delivery to Europe. They don't calculate tax -- this would probably be another 70+ euros including processing charge.
Is this tablet still a bargain at around 400 euros ?
Also found it on Ali express but it's more expensive again (and doesn't include tax either)
The link Chris provided is Giztop shop. They claim if you select Express delivery there won't be additional charges (customs import fee and VAT). What you pay on the checkout is all of the cost.
that's a great tablet , can you confirm if runs PUBG at EXTREME (60fps) frame rate ?

Great review! I'm curious if it supports HD Netflix viewing? I have ordered (order is processing at this stage) this tablet because of this video...
if u notice, the video author didnt reply. i think its not possible and he didnt outrightly advertise it. if u notice he just show a 4k video instead of netflix. This is a failure to be honest haha. OLED display but cant even play netflix in full HD

Correct me if I'm wrong..
This is the first Mediatek powered device that supports video-out.
After all these years they finally made it.
Seems so but testing working 100% and in 4k
You've got soc for smartphones (Helio and Dimensity)...those don't support video output.
And soc for tablets and chromebooks (Kompanio T, Kompanio...old mt81xx or 87xx)...some (but not all) support video output.
I still have a Teclast T10 with mt8176 (mt81xx and mt87xx were for tablets before Kompanio naming) from 2017 or 2018, it has Mini HDMI output.
More recently, you got Acer SPIN 513-2H that supports up to 2 external screens with Kompanio 1380
