  • Hey Everyone,
This Video is about the 4PM and the 7PXR. giving my personal opinion on both. Pro's and Cons etc.. Ive had the chance to use the 4PM with my Play Cars such as Crawling and soon to play with my Drag car. I totally love the 4PM for the people just getting into the hobby, Great price point too if you're on a budget. On the other side of things, the Higher end Radio, 7PXR I've been using for the racing side of things and couldn't be more happier with the unbelievable Touch screen and easy to use format. Watch the video to see and hear about more of these great Remotes!

I'd like to see a video explaining the tuning options of remotes. Maybe explain the reason and benifits of adjusting EPA, dual rates, servo speed, expo. Could also add in some track footage or draw on a whiteboard.

I was an avid spectrum user for about 10 years. Last year I switched to the 7px and was blown away just by the feel of the radio alone. And then you get into how easy the radio is to use. By far the best radio on the market.

When I first got the 7PXR, it was a little much. After setting it up and dinking around for a few days, I gotten use to it pretty quick. Now I got a B74.2 I just built and did the telemetry thing, I'm happy I got this thing now. Plus it's a sweat radio, no doubt about that.

My son is getting to the point of being competitive in his racing. Our radios are old, entry level computerized radios. I am definitely on a budget as a single parent of 3, but am looking into getting him a better radio, not so much for additional features, but for a faster connection to his cars.
Do you think a new mid level radio would achieve this? He's 15 and our current radios are early 2.4 stuff that is nearly as old as he is. MX-V and DX3S.
Thanks for the video, any input would be most appreciated...

Are the switches able to cycle through a My Trick LED controller - I have only been able to use this channel to turn the lights on and off although the controller allows cycling through some conditions on the controller as well. I have turned conditions on in the linkage menu, assigned PS6 for the dial switch in the front of the transmitter to allow a multi input over a toggle switch. Do you know if this is possible at all?

Love the video content. I have to disagree a little. The 4PM is a great race radio. It not a entry level radio. It has the same capabilities as the 7PX but does have all the extra bells and whistles( touch screen, drop down, etc). I have raced for over 10 years and have used many radios and my 1st Futaba(4PM) has been great! I would challenge you go beyond just using it for your crawler and actually run it with your race cars. You will be surprised. It has great trigger tension and position adjustability. Easy to toggle menus, great assignment to buttons for nitro pit stop idle. It is a great radio. I do wish it did have a drop down.

See to me the 4PM is a high end radio, this is really all relative. The 4PM can do it all but it's definitely geared towards racing. It can support any ground vehicle, even has specialty stuff for nitro racing and tons of adjustability for all vehicles. I only see the point in the super high end radios if you actually race RC cars for a living.

For the 4pm and 270$, id say its a little more than getting your feet wet. Since the 7 is only one step above it. Since everyone nowadays loves cheap 80$ amazon crap. Yes im talking about the frysky, the flysky, and dumbo, and whatever other garbage is out there. I guarantee you can give a pro the 4, and he'll do just the same. It has all the same features, including the high speed and sbus capable. Alot of the hobby from what i noticed being around it for over 30 yrs, is that people like to show up with the most expensive stuff, thinking thats gonna make them go faster. I can tell you its not the color of your parts, or the bling it provides. Rc is kinda compareable to race cars. Dudes immediately buy the most expensive stuff. A well setup car is worth more than any bling, any day. I see newbies go out and get the most expensive stuff, and not understand it. Not just radios. Example, you can go buy an xray, probably the most expensive cars, but still get beat by a losi (cough) or associated or whatever your choosing. I ran quarter scales with a crap jrx3 for years until i bought a 3pk. And other than antenna strength at that time, i still dominated my local track. Yeah the expensive stuff is nice, but not nevessary. I think alot of people just want to show up feeling like a pro, even when being a novice. Partly i think cause theyll be judged by their equiptment. Because face it, rc cars are aimed at adults not kids. When i started you could get a combo under 250$ all in. Now you cant even think about handing over a car to a young kid to just beat on at todays prices. Rc kills itself by remaining out of reach for the average consumer. Hence 1200$ xmaxxs. And theyre all plastic from china, and give you a poop radio and no support equipment. By the way, my first hobbygrade rc was a monster beetle out of the jc pennys christmas catalogue. And my dad had a marui big bear he got used. I only own associateds since 94. With the exception of an axial smt10 and two tmaxxs i built from scratch. Ive owned 3 a stamp gold pans, and still own one.
