Love all the Fellini references, however I wish they would’ve referenced Sergio Leone and his films as well. I heard at some point that the director of Luca wanted Ennio Morricone to score the film when it was early in production but sadly he passed away before they could offer him the job.
or one to dario argento, lucio fulci, mario brava...
Another detail I found is that Alberto has a chunk of a ship in his collection, which, is probably a reference to his original hideout idea -an old ship that was half submerged-.
I saw a theory that Bruno from Encanto was Alberto’s dad but the truth is, Bruno wasnt supposed to be named Bruno. He was originally named Oscar but Lin-Manuel Miranda changed it to Bruno for the song “We don’t talk about Bruno”

Also, Giulia had a boy band poster in her room, “4 town” which is a band from the new movie that is coming to Disney+ (turning red)
Yeah I saw that
It said "4 village," not 4 town
I also saw that and wrote a comment say the same thing 😱
@@tapita6768 The joke is that it means "4 town" in Italian. Since Luca takes place in the 1960s, and Turning Red takes place in the 1990s, it is not the same band in-universe.
@@ernovincze2900 Turning Red takes place in the early 2000s, but yes
I love Luca! It was such a cute film, I loved the characters ☺️
The Pizza truck DOES appear in The Incredibles, but very briefly and very blurry. It feels like they remembered it way too late and added it quickly.
And a surly pizza delivery driver was mentioned in _Incredibles II._
It's awesome that all those were packed into one movie.
4:53 No way! Alberto knows about an inaproppiate movie for sure!
He seems like the type of guy who wouldn't care about watching an inappropriate movie.
He really does tho
Fun fact: Visconti is also the surname of a noble italian family of the 10th century
In addition to Alberto having a blue umbrella, when it's raining Luca's "umbrella" is the awning of a red building. :-)
I have LITERALLY watched Luca 29 times!!!! NO JOKE!

WHAT-
The Mickey Mouse clouds aren’t an accident everyone knows nothing in animation is accidental.
-Oogway
@@mikeratomn3475 yees
I'm inclined to think it's an accident, especially in the case of the stylized clouds, because three dots slightly offset is really easy to do. I make accidental Mickey pancakes all the time.
As an animation student, I highly disagree. Accidental stuff like that happens all the time
It could go either way it's a 50 50, if it's in most pixar films than I think it's on purpose. Mickey was one of there most popular shows and/or movie. I think Mickey is the most popular! (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Not only do I love this channel, but I love how much he shows us how much time and effor Pixar and Disney put into there movies with these 2 second differences that make the movie so much better. I subscribed! Keep up the good work!
From what I know there should also be the fact that Alberto has a scar on his arm referring to the first moment we see him and the fact that Luca when he slams with the bike, he sees the fish instead of the stars for that dialogue with Alberto.
it’s not a Pixar movie without the Pizza Planet truck
So 'The Incredibles' isn't a Pixar Movie?

2:45 Luxo. Jr was not the first short done by Pixar. The first one was, The Adventures of Andre and Wally B 1984. Luxo. Jr was 1986.
early one
pixar wasn't around in 1984
@@bluballanimations Yes they were
@@bluballanimations Pixar got its start in 1974 when New York Institute of Technology's (NYIT) founder, Alexander Schure, who was also the owner of a traditional animation studio, established the Computer Graphics Lab (CGL) and recruited computer scientists who shared his ambitions about creating the world's first computer-animated film.
Oh! and the scar on Alberto's arm is from when the fishermen threw a harpoon at him
If that's true, the wound wouldn't be healed by the time he met luca
@@red_sketch5715 I don't think it's really specified how much time passed between Alberto's scene with the fishermen and the scene of him meeting Luca. It could be a a few days or weeks after the incident with them. But it also could be just a scar he's had way before the fisherman thing.

Cool 😎
6:50 its not “Comodoro” it’s actually “Pomodoro” which means tomato
you know, the ending of Luca where Alberto is running towards Luca on a moving train, I actually made the connection with a movie/book. If you’ve read the Harry Potter series, you’ll know that when the train for the first-years is leaving, Ron’s younger sister, Ginny, is running towards the train as how Alberto is running towards Luca.
They most likely were also referencing the movie he said Luca was. It's a very famous scene in cinema history. It's also done in Zootopia during the scene when Judy gets on the train. Her parents run after the train just like in Luca and Harry Potter. It's actually used in many movies and shows, even outside Disney.
Pixar always has that habit of re-using digital assets, for various reasons, and its always easier to look up items from the library, do a bit of editing, rather than rendering a brand new model. Works with 2d cell animation too, a technique Disney is quite an expert in.
The video point is that Luca has bits and pieces of different movies and made up a whole new one.
I can tell a lot of effort was put into this movie.i still want to see it.
Let’s just appreciate all the hard work they puts into these videos to make our days!!! 🥳❤️
aside from the not so high effort in pronouncing things and making sure things were written the right way (biggest example being the babbino caro instead of bambino), i can appreciate them digging hard to find all these details and sources- even as an Italian many things slipped through so this was still a very nice watch!
Wait... people pronounce it "bambino"?
@Sam the Censorship Guy yeah, if you Google how to pronounce it it'll give you a better way to pronounce it than I could possibly explain by writing it. I was mainly correcting them writing babbino instead of bambino in the video tho-
@@azelswirldesertrose214 To be fair, there exists a writing system specifically designed to transcribe the pronunciation of words in any language, known as the International Phonetic Alphabet. It always annoys me that people rely on Google Translate’s text-to-speech to learn how to pronounce stuff, as that runs the risk of mishearing whatever phrase they’re learning.
@@TGWTGCensored sorry, I knew that existed but had no idea how that was called, so I didn't feel like relying on something I wasn't super familiar with, but thanks for the info

😂 "il gattano y il volpe" is actually "il gatto e la volpe" in Italian 😂
Another one I found is when Alberto tells Luca “silencio Bruno!” I bet you know what I’m hinting to, which is Bruno from Encanto. Everyone is always denying Bruno in the movie, and also in Luca.
I don't think that was actually a reference to Bruno from Encanto, since it hadn't come out yet.
@@sadespain2339 yeah but production on Encanto had probaby already started
Yeah, it takes a while to make animated movies and also it seems like it was around the same time period even though it’s different countries
Bruno from Encanto was originally Oscar but they changed his name to Bruno for the "We don't talk about Bruno" song to match the "No no no" parts of the song. I don't think it was a reference
No, it's not. It's an Italian saying, it doesn't have anything to do with Encanto. I mean, it's a fun coincidence but none for theories
As an Italian, I must Say that the narrator Is good but some things, I can't help but laugh at them.
This is an underrated movie
FAX
Well that tower that Alberto and Luca that they hang out at in the beginning is an finished tower in tangled that Rapunzel was in for 18 years of her life
The first one could also be a reference to SpongeBob the first movie when like the deep sea diver dude with that same helmet comes and crushes the green guy who's going to hurt them but then take some away and brings them into Shell City and tries to sell them.
That’s literally all I can think about anytime I see that helmet in the movie lmao
Oh my goodness, so many details but I've missed all of them! :(
And I really thought, this time I'd see the A113
5:55 oh so this is the movie referenced in the mark of athena
Oh hello fellow Percy Jackson fan :)
Now im not blaming this on you but on YT. I had to restart the video twice to skip around the same ONE HOUR unskipable ad!
Luca is that one movie everyone was simping and shipping for when it came out but then no one cared anymore
Also in the first one, its also identical to the one in spongebob movie
2:07 or MAYBE, the animators used a particle system to add spheres in random places instead of painstakingly placing every cloud in the sky
Because luca learns from his mistakes
I legit just thought this was a shitpost for the first minute or so
The firefly star thing is heavily implied in the Disney film the princess and the frog
Timon and pumba
For the movie is Timon is smart and pumbaa is fool but the opposite is the truth which always makes me laugh
Something you didn’t mention is that the tower that Alberto lives in. Isn’t that the tower from Tangled?
Actually the thing of “A 113” is because a animator of Disney accidentally erased toy story while it was in the making. So I don’t remember very well if they placed that because that’s what got it eliminated or because that’s what helped to get back the movie. But it could also mean the classroom. 🙃🙃🙃
Also in this they say “Silenzio Bruno.” In Encanto, which was in development at the same time as this movie, they don’t talk about Bruno.
When I heared "Portorosso" I thought of "Porco Rosso."
3:25 I saw my uncle and I was like o-o
missed the chance to put the a113 easter egg on #13
The only reason why the Pizza Planet truck isn’t in The Incredibles is because they forgot to add it in. It is in the sequel, so that’s good.
I loved this film.
Those porco rosso Easter eggs are sick
When you said The Incredibles, my heart sank, man I love that movie! They also has to send some artists down there to do research on the culture in Italy to be able to make the movie.
2:14 And there under the desk on the right is a vinyl for 4-Town. It represents the next Disney Pixar movie "Turning Red".
As an Italian, the pronounce is very accurate, the only thing is in the number 2, the song is called: "Viva la pappa col pomodoro" not "Viva la poppa col commodoro"
E la canzone di Edoardo Bennato è Il Gatto e La Volpe non il gatto è il volpe lol
also because then it would mean "up with the boob with the commodore"
In #11 im glad he brought up studio ghibli!
Your really good at spotting things
