    You do not need a fashion degree! Youre much better off without one in fashion!! I went to a very prestigious fashion uni in London and it was an awful experience for me and 90% of people on the course. Honestly feel sorry for anyone studying it now. I didn’t learn anything, I UNlearnt things! Don’t waste the money or your time or your talent!! Just do your fashion brand teach yourself don’t put yourself through the torture lol sorry ramble it’s late and I’m drunk but completely true! Any internships etc i had (conde nast etc) were all separate from uni and off my own back, nothing to do with uni. The course was TOXIC!!! The industry is cruel. Be careful out there. This doesn’t mean you can’t achieve your dreams, but kill them with kindness and STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF AND YOUR VISIONS BECAUSE TUTORS WILL TRY TO KILL IT XXX Xxx

    • @CharminaRose
      @CharminaRose  Před 3 lety

      Hahah, that’s fine thank you for the ramble, love that you are shedding your light on your personal experience! ☺️👏 That is so true, and mentioned it on this video: czcams.com/video/QpLrDLL3R-8/video.html I feel like nowadays you don’t really need a degree on anything unless the job requires that you have a degree. There is so many resources out there were you can learn yourself etc. From my personal experience I felt that I have learned more in depth from studying at university of Westminster Fashion Marketingand Promotion, AND I even had 3+ years experience with graphic design, photography, video, marketing, and working with campaigns. I definitely think that you are able to learn it all by yourself and would save you a lot of $$, but it requires you to first know what to look for and if you don’t know anything about the subject it can be hard to understand therefore I felt that the support from the teacher was essential, and were helpful.
      Yes!! Work experience is key!!! From experience I have seen that you really need work experience to get anywhere, in addition the fashion industry is highly competitive, and is not for everybody. I definitely recommend to have work experience before putting a lot of money towards a degree to test out if fashion is for you or not.
      Best of luck to you with working in the fashion industry Xx

    1) If I don't want to stay in the dorms is it easy to find an apartment in London that costs around the same as the dorms?
    2) I'm planning to transfer in my final year, do they have scholarships for that or are scholarships only for first year entry?

    • @CharminaRose
      @CharminaRose  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you I really appreciate it, and glad it helped you! You can find apartments that are cheaper, cost the same, or higher then what you would have to pay for dorms. I rented a private apartment with 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen for 1450£ a month, I am sure you can find cheaper then this.☺️ So cool that you are planning to transfer in your final year! I recommend you to contact the scholarship team at school or look online if your school provides it or university of Westminster. 😍
