How to Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Airline and Hotel Partners (Step 10)

You've worked hard and strategized over card applications, earning your sign-up bonus (SUB), and have finally accumulated enough points to make a redemption.
The easy way is to book your trip within the Chase Travel Portal. But don't take the easy way out!
Why?
Odds are you'll end up spending way more points and have complications if you need to modify or cancel your trip.
Instead, you're going to book directly with the airline or hotel by transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards (URs) to them.
Who can I transfer my Chase UR points to?
Airlines: Southwest, United Airlines, JetBlue, Air France KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines, Iberia, Emirates, British Airways, Air Canada, and Aer Lingus.
Hotels: Hyatt, IHG, and Marriot.
A few tips:
1) The loyalty account you are transferring to must have the exact same name as your Chase account.
2) You must have one of the following three cards to transfer out to Chase's partners: the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Business Ink Preferred, or Sapphire Reserve.
3) You can only transfer in 1,000 point increments.
4) Do not do a test transfer. This will flag your account as suspicious and will result in it taking several days and a phone call to get all of your points successfully transferred.
5) You can only transfer out from Chase to the transfer partner. Those points cannot be returned back into your Chase UR account.
6) Do a mock booking with your transfer partner all the way up until confirming the reservation to get the most accurate total number of points needed. Hotels may charge different points based on the day.
Do you need to combine Chase UR points across several Chase cards?
1) Log into your account at Chase Ultimate Rewards.
2) Click Redeem next to your Chase UR point balance.
3) Under Reward Details click Combine Points.
4) In the first column, select all of your Chase cards with UR points but the Sapphire Preferred/Reserve/Ink Preferred card.
5) In the second column, select your Sapphire Preferred/Reserve/Ink Preferred card.
6) Enter the # of points you want to transfer (I usually do all), click Review, and then Submit.
How do I transfer Chase points to a transfer partner?
1) Log into your account at Chase Ultimate Rewards.
2) Click Ways To Use Points, then Transfer Points.
3) Click the arrow next to the transfer partner you want to send your points to.
4) Enter the loyalty membership # and click Next. Enter # of points to be transferred and click Next. Click to Submit the transfer.
