Unfortunately, there’s too many people in denial about what happened too. I think one of the best ways to handle this is to show the world the atrocities that happened. _Who are the Palestinians and where did they come from?_
Today, there is a conflict between the State of Israel and a people calling themselves _the_ Palestinians. The Palestinians assert that they are unfairly _invaded_ by the Jewish people and that the Palestinians are the true historical inhabitants of The Land (of Israel), formerly called Palestine, and that even Jesus was a Palestinian. However, the genetically diverse Palestinians are actually from _other_ places (Islamic places), the territories surrounding Israel. They are a genetic mix of Arab, Egyptian and Syrian, for the most part. They took the name Palestinian in the mid-1960's as a (KGB sponsored*) propagandist move to distract other nations from that fact and the fact that they _already_ have "a homeland" in the surrounding countries (in particular, the mandated Trans-Jordan) as divided out by the League of Nations post conquest of the Ottoman Empire - a land area some *632 times larger* than the diminutive sliver left to Israel as a homeland for the Jewish people. The Palestinians have tried to characterize themselves as the small and oppressed party, the underdog, while making Jewish Israel the colonial aggressor, a Goliath. The irony and hubris is stunning.

Archeological finds, particularly pottery vessels and genetic testing of their burial remains, show the Philistines were European - Aegean - Greeks, also known as the Sea Peoples. They probably referred to themselves by a Greek-based name. But that name is not recorded in the Bible. We know them by the name the Israelites gave them, the Invaders, the Philistines.
ETYMOLOGY:

There is *no* direct etymological connection between the Hebrew word Philista and the name Palestine.
However, there is a *Greek* connection.
The ancient Greeks made many conquests in the Ancient Near East and lands beyond. In so doing, they were in the habit of placing Greek versions of the names of cities and lands over top of their original ethnic place names. For instance, the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Iran known as Persepolis - a Greek name meaning "City of the Persians" can be seen today. It has a proper Persian name (Parsa), but the world knows it by its Greek moniker.
Consider the Land of Israel in light of this understanding.
The Land of Israel was known by it's patriarch, Jacob, whose name was changed by God when Jacob _wrestled_ with Him (Gen 32:24). The name Israel means _He who wrestles with God._
The etymological connection to Palestine is with the Greek word _Paleuo,_ (Παλεύω) which means *WRESTLE.* This discussion was first made by the German scholar Martin Noth (1902 - 1968), though never broadly publicized.
Historical usage in Greco-Roman secular writings of the name Palestine for the Land of the Wrestler goes back to Herodotus (484 - 485 BC), Aristotle (384 - 322 BC), and even the Jewish historian, Josephus (37 - 100 AD), all predating Hadrian.
(Is it possible that Hadrian returned the name Palestina back into common usage because he, too, _wrestled_ with the Israeli people?)
The Land they (ancient historiographers) were referring to was much larger than the area we know as Israel today and the people they wrote about who lived there were the Jewish people by clear and unquestionable description.
*The Modern Palestinian Claim*
It should be noted that the people claiming to be the entitled Palestinians today cannot pronounce the letter 'P' because it does not exist in their language, Arabic. They've had to change the Greek place names in Israel to accommodate this cultural difference because they are relatively recent arrivals to the territory of Palestine. For example, they call the city of Neapolis: Nablus, and the caves of Paneas: Banyas. They can't even say the name, "Palestinian" correctly, so they say Balestine or Felestine - neither of which have any etymological source in their Arabic language or culture.
Their claim to the Land and heritage of Palestine is fraudulent. I'm sorry to say it, but the Arab-Palestinians who _invaded_ southern Israel and brutalized, murdered, the innocent civilians there are _worse than Philistines!_

Final thought
There is something strangely familiar about the current scenario. We see Arabs, the cousins of the descendants of Isaac and Jacob, laying a claim on the Inheritance promised to the descendants of Jacob. Not only are they seeking to usurp the Promised Land, but they've also seemingly usurped Jacob's very name. Palestine is Israel. Israel is Jacob. Jacob, the Wrestler.
The irony is found in Genesis 27, when Jacob went to Isaac, dressed as Esau, to secure the blessing God had already determined to lay on him. This painful deception returned to him while in service to his uncle, Laban. Again, he was repayed by the deception of his own sons in the selling of Joseph.
