Nice. You clearly explained what sucker to leave that turns into a branch. I watch other videos on pruning but I could never understand that. And my first language is English and I could understand this translation. So I don't know what people are complaining about.

I never prune fruiting stems but my growing season is 200+days so I have that luxury. I heavily prune non-fruiting stems though. This requires a very sturdy trellis, especially for beefsteak varieties.

Here in Maine, USA, the seasons are fairly short for tomatoes, so, after four bunches, I top indetermanate tomato plants so that all of the energy goes into ripening the existing bunches. In this manner, I am able to harvest a crop of ripe tomatoes without and immature green fruit that will not ripen properly.

I live in the North of Spain and I always work with bare hands. It is true, tomatoes make your fingers green or black but this is easy to remove washing the hands with a peace of a ripe tomato before washing them with soap.
