I dislike partying and any version of socialising that lasts longer than about one minute. I would much rather spend my Friday and Saturday nights watching Cool dudes walking club or old Marek Larwood videos. Grated cheese allows for the cheese and bread to mix in perfect proportions in each mouthful of sandwich. I also want to say something smart on surface area but that is above my pay grade and intellect. The end. 😊
The surface area seems to be the general consensus on cheese cool dude.
I usually avoid large loud gatherings as I'm definitely an introvert. I liked your "no comment" about the late pigeon. Looking forward to the new zine.

Always with stunning clouds in your videos. These were quite ominous and grey but still stunning!
The GoPro does a brilliant job of picking up the incredible clouds I think.

The shadows over the field at 4:50 and grey skies were really lovely. All the beautiful scenery makes me excited for my vacation there.. The prices not so much as your lunch was about $43CAD. Much scarier than the ghost stories! As for something people seem to enjoy that I can't stand: gossip! Just can't do it haha

Lovely walk Marek, love the humour as always and cool artwork. Only did a 3 mile walk today so I'm always impressed with your gigantic walks :) I don't like computer games, much rather be outside.
I don't play computer games either. When I was at university I played a game called Football Manager and lost about three days in an abyss of gameplay. I decided then to wait until my 90's when they are better than my real life. Ha.

Brilliant video as ever. My thing that others enjoy HAS to be 'outdoor cinema' !!!???? Lots of friends keep saying 'oh we thought you'd love that, you're a big film lover' yeah........but i don't like rain, cold, mosquitos, flies, kids making noise, sitting in a camping chair freezing with insects in my prosecco when I have a comfy warm sofa and films on dvd, surround sound cinema bar, blankets.....directors cuts at that!!! 😂😂😂😂

The thing I don't enjoy that lots of others do is football matches. I wonder what it's like to be the sort of person that does enjoy them. Perhaps I should give it another go as the last time I went was over a half a century ago and I was about 4 years old! I usually grate cheese for a sandwich but recently sliced some cheddar for a cheese and pickle roll and it was excellent, so I think either works depending on what you fancy on the day (can you tell I write about food for a living?).
I am like you. I prefer football from the comfort of my own living room.

Looked like a pretty nice walk to me. £26 for a burger and shandy is ridiculous though, must have been a fancy little village.
If I had a horse I would name it "He's losing" as I think that would throw up all sorts of funny moments.

Our patch, lovely stuff. The trees that looked like they’d been struck by lightning are ash trees suffering from ash dieback. The Royal Oak (like everything tied to the Goodwood Estate and Lord March) provides quality at big prices…
And small portions. Ha.
I suspect the reason grated cheese tastes better is down to the texture being more interesting.

There has been a lot of speculation about surface area being responsible for the improved taste on here.
You had such good views, and nice weather too it seems. I did the Halnaker Windmill trail last year which was a nice and quiet.
Agree with the greater surface area comments re: grated v sliced cheese in a sandwich. Also share the shock at the cost of your lunch! Your meal looked nice enough but the portions for the price 😮😮😮😮 Nice walk with excellent lizard content and Chichester looks well worth a visit. Zine cover is so cool, best so far

Great video, we're gonna do part of this walk in August 2024. I like your little book but I'm a graphic designer and I saw that the words are too close to the edge of the paper on several of the pages, so I wouldn't be able to look at it or own it, sadly.

I’m from Ohio and I love to watch videos of a hilarious guy in the UK going for walks and then questioning fellow Americans why the man walking doesn’t have a million subscribers minimum. That is usually followed by strange looks and polite subject changes.
I think your fellow Americans have the standard reaction to this channel. Ha.
Big social events can wear me out even if the people are nice. And crowdy supermarkeds are exhausting. I make myself an imaginary bubble which surrounds me and I imagine that everything else is a sort of a theatre set 😊 Works great 😁 Nice to see the pic of my keyring Marek. Stay cool
I find I need to recharge too after being around people. I am quite solitary.
Trees dying at the top can be caused by stress on the roots, but is usually caused by drought. When trees die from lack of water they die from the top down!

Speaking of cheese, I tried ASDA's Brie Christmas sandwich & it tasted exactly how a loft smells, so Brie grated or sliced gets a zero from me!
I feel like a restaurant & or a nightclub would be my worst nightmare, if you go alone people aren't staring at you but you think they are, you don't have control of the music level or genre & everything would be better if all the strangers would just go home, haha.
I remember being in nightclubs when I was 18 and not being able to understand why I wasn't really enjoying it.

I don't like giving a simple answer to a simple question. It seems like a wasted opportunity to think outside the box in a hilarious way. That's why my friends don't like asking me stuff anymore.

outdoor events like fireworks or summer shows with screaming kids and angry parents with an entry fee for the trouble to most the time to. Yet most people love them

When it comes to not liking things that most people like, it has to be long baths. I just lie there anxious thinking about all the useful stuff I could be doing instead and I don't like the idea of wallowing in my own body soup.

Marek needs to get somewhere in a hurry, Marek thinks this will be an ideal time to do one of those walking away from the fixed camera shots that means he has to spend three times as long on that bit of walk than had he just kept walking. The cheese thing is grating the cheese increases the surface area, there's a bit on QI about it from a few years ago while Stephen Fry was still hosting

More surface area on grated cheese to get on your taste buds? Also grated cheese might warm up quicker & taste better? I really like grated cheddar on a burger but not melted on, just warmed but the meat heat.

So, I hate eggs - I’ve never been able eat them, they’re disgusting. Breakfast menus are a minefield
I used to loathe eggs until someone put a fried egg on a pizza in Spain when I was about 33 and now I like them. As for scrambled eggs I always hated them, and never ate them, until day five of the South Downs Way when the Air B&B owner made them for me without asking what I wanted. I ate them to not cause any embarrassment and they were quite nice (haven't had them since though).
That was a lot of boring egg chat from me. Ha.

£26 😮 That's criminal! I don't enjoy football chat which can be quite alienating. Think I'd just call my horse Colin. Regarding cheese, it's definitely the amount of surface area, as the cheese oxidises and intensifies the cheesiness. 🧀🧀🧀
I think most men almost have to develop football chat as a way of deflecting nosey taxi drivers.

Awkward small talk is my worst nightmare.
I remember being around my parents at various things when the Dads would just talk football or routes they took to where they are. I thought I hope I never talk about this stuff.
The thing I generally don't like to do that others seem to enjoy is eating in restaurants, especially higher end or fancy places. Hate hate hate. Not only a waste of money but you have to act a certain way and I don't want my meal to be work or stressful. Mom and pop joints all the way.
When I was doing well in acting (about 20 years ago), I got taken out to a couple of really good restaurants. The food was incredible, a bit like a reawakening of the tastebuds.
I don't drink tea, does that count? Hate the smell. I don't drink coffee either, but quite like the smell of that!

I agree that grated cheese tastes better than slices - my theory is that with grated cheese there is a much greater cheese to taste bud ratio. I wonder what else this could work with?
It's a game of surface area. Also grated cheese is covered with corn flour to keep it grated and stop it making one giant clump. Maybe that adds a little joie de vivre.
It is not covered in corn flour when you grate it yourself, and it tastes better.
I take cheese grating very seriously 🤣 I think the inconsistency helps too, I prefer cheddar over the plastic burger stuff because it's not uniform.

I like quite a lot of sports, but I don't necessarily like sportsmen or sportsfans.
When you said you were thinking about cheese in this video… I was eating cheese when I was watching you say that. Crazy huh! Now… did you know that fledgling pigeons from about 1 month old are called Squeakers. It’s because they make a squeaking noise. About 6-8 weeks they start to make cooing noises and stop squeaking.
Sounds like pigeons are annoying from the moment they are born.

I'm quite shocked at the price of your lunch, cool dude. £6 for a shandy? They must use THE most expensive lemonade in the world. If I had a racehorse, I would name it The Rubbing Horse.
Ha. I agree shandy shouldn't be the same price as a pint. They seem to charge exactly the same everywhere for them these days.
I feel like there should be a sneaky way to just make your own shandy for less, like buy a half pint of lemonade and half a larger or bitter, and ask for a pint glass! I know this is the cheaper way to buy a dark and stormy 'cockatil', buy a shot of rum and a seperate ginger beer, and cheekily ask for a slice of lime 😉

My thing I don't like that other people like is:
Eating out. It always feels like an unnecessary stress, and it's super disappointing if the food isn't good. The expenses too! And what if there is nothing I want? Or what if the other patrons are loud? Agghhh!
Gardening too if that counts, but I think that's pretty 50/50 on what people think of it.
Loud people on other tables is the worst. Especially screeching drunk people. As I have got older I have definitely become more of a recluse.

I don’t like Christmas work parties. I have to work with them all week, I don’t want to pretend to enjoy being with them in my own time and spend my small wage doing so.
I am self employed so I don't even get to go to Xmas work parties.

It doesn't taste different, it's the texture of the cheese. I've been trying to tell people this for years, sliced cheese tastes like ass. But shredded cheese of ok sometimes. Have you ever heard of a pizza with sliced cheese? Hell no.

Over where I am its a big thing to be into baseball and american football. Not everyone mind you are sports fans in general, but it is a huge part of american culture and i feel often like im the only one around who jsut couldnt care less about it XD like, i dont mind some sports, like i enjoy football and off beat things like disc golf or the tour de france. But i find american football and baseball to be some of the most boring things ever. Weird.
I also dislike going out to a busy pub and drinking for hours. Just don't see the appeal!
I did like it in my 20's, now I don't enjoy it so much, especially when bars play loud music so everyone has to raise their voice. Maybe I am just a grumpy old man. Ha.

I dislike live music concerts, i love the band or the artist, but what ruins it for me is the people at the concert, i always have about 4 people blocking my view with there hands raise up recording the whole thing on their phone, then i have drunk people leaning on me, spilling there drink on me
