UFC would love to sell out 60,000 plus stadiums a year in advance and have 2-4 guys move hundreds of millions of dollars of merchandise and have their fighters featured in things like Scooby and Fall guys.
UFC is a lot more like it than they realise. Fighters cutting WWE-style promos at press conferences and after fights, putting on personas (COLBY) for views ect. The fighting aspect, fair enough, very different, but to say they’re complete opposite ends is a bit short sighted when UFC wouldn’t be worth what it is today without Mcgregor bouncing round behaving like a modern day Stone Cold terrorising everyone, cutting promos left right and centre and having a relatable backstory (which is basically WWE goals anytime they book a wrestler to perform).
People REALLY don't understand the thought process of wrestling fans. Like 95% of them know that the product is scripted, that other 5% is comprised of mostly children. Those wrestling fans enjoy the stories being told and the characters involved with them. Not to mention the insane athletic ability it takes to wrestle on that level in the first place. The cringy people are the ones telling the wrestling fans that the product is fake 24/7 because it makes them feel smart. People are allowed to enjoy what they want and yes, it's possible to enjoy both sports.
Your missing the point though sure there are people out there that enjoy both but the majority of people who love M.M.A or sports in general are not interested in the WWE and the majority of people who are into the WWE do not particularly enjoy sports and I hate to tell you but I would say the fan base of WWE that are children is probably a little higher than 5% it just Is what it is that's not to say any of those people are wrong for enjoying either or bad people it's just simply that thier interests are not at all similar

Of course I see the point of it and can understand how someone invested in the scene can be really moved by the stories but getting people past 16 years old to buy into it is quite hard imo. especially when they already are invested in something so grounded in reality like UFC. With UFC, the fans, while wanting to be entertained, are also there to see who the best fighter is because it's a real fight and a real test of skills. WWE has more in common with TV shows and movies than with actual sport, albeit having the same high level risk of injury. There's nothing wrong with that, it's entertainment. UFC is a sporting competition, and the overall fanbase is into that rather than the makebelieve of WWE, while the overall WWE fanbase isn't really into sporting competitions.

In Japan there used to be alot of crossover. Thats why Ken shamrock and don frye were professional wrestlers. Tons of Japanese guys i dont know the names of did it too.
Brock was a great addition, and CM punk gave us legendary experiences of laughter and memories, and also cemented and silenced the idea of cross overs which would have had to happen or be answered at some point

Imagine you owned a robotics company, and your company merged with a toy company which makes robot action figures, and the owner of the toy company said he hopes those who like robotics will like robot toys and vice versa. The robotics company owner will think such a statement to be ridiculous because his company is real robotics and the other company is fake robotics, so to pretend like the companies are of equal value would be ridiculous. However if joining with the toy company means more money for the greedy robotics company owner he will gladly do it. The UFC is like the robotics company and the WWE is like the toy company. One of them focuses on reality and the other on fiction. Those who enjoy fiction and are bored with reality will like the toy company and those who like things to have meaning and value will enjoy the robotics company and won't hold the toy company to much esteem, although there would be some crossover it wouldn't be substantial. There is some crossover...you can see even the UFC atheletes that are huge fans like Chael, Izzy, DC, Brock, Cain, Colby etc. But impossible to get all because a lot of WWE fans are kids. They don't even watch WWE's competition, let alone MMA. Also a lot of them expect pay offs every single night, which does NOT happen in real fighting. Let's not make the UFC more WWE like, other then entrances and size of events. If they do a major UFC day after or before Wrestlingmania, that could be huge though.

This same logic applies between the UFC and the WWE.
he doesn't hate them, he was stating facts, a lot of mma fans don't really care to see wwe as they only care about real martial arts, and most wwe fans watch for the storylines and the spectacle of it all, I watch ufc and don't watch wwe and don't plan on changing that, my sister and her husband watch wwe and don't watch ufc, they're just too different in nature to merge both audiences
I think the new breed fans won’t but the 90’s fans who grew up watching the undertaker, stone cold, hardy boys etc I think those fans are more wise and are the hybrid ufc - wee fans whereas now it hard to find them. Because wwe is not as popular as it once was as the attitude era…..
how could the COO of the UFC say something like that. That is having zero understanding of your product and its fan base. "We want fans of real hand to hand combat to become fans of a soap opera based around fake combat."

There is some crossover...you can see even the UFC atheletes that are huge fans like Chael, Izzy, DC, Brock, Cain, Colby etc.
But impossible to get all because a lot of WWE fans are kids. They don't even watch WWE's competition, let alone MMA. Also a lot of them expect pay offs every single night, which does NOT happen in real fighting. Let's not make the UFC more WWE like, other then entrances and size of events. If they do a major UFC day after or before Wrestlingmania, that could be huge though.

Wwe is not the same as it used to be in the attitude Era. Now it's very pg-13 with few episodes that goes over but it's not same as it used to be where there's chaos and drama with fan service as well. Let's not forget dangerous matches.
