Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Great to see the wheat pouring in like a flood. Looking forward to seeing whatever videos you have time to share. Wishing you and your family the best.
I've just been watching Ron Pratts channel. He used his rotator and another tow truck to load a burnt JD 9770 sts combine onto a trailer. I hope it was insured. You're having a better day than that poor farmer. It cant be too old as the paints still shiny. The cab and front section are toast. You can see how they can catch fire so easily with all the dry straw going through them. One spark and the air movement and it would go up quickly. Take care Wes.
It's been about twenty years since I ran a combine but if I remember right we bolted the floating cutter bar up. We baled the straw too but I liked to leave a little stubble to help keep some air moving through it. Seems like we would get a few thunderstorms just in time to cut wheat.
Wes, thank you for the explanation as why you're not baling that straw. I was a bit confused at the start of this video until you gave that explanation. I know that back in the day New Holland was the best for haying equipment and even the combines followed by Gleaner then the rest. I wasn't a fan of New Holland taking over of Ford but, from what I've learned, these NH tractors and combines are beating JD for reliability. I can't for price wise, I'm old school JD/Oliver/Ford. Great video, cheers :)
Man i been here since the beginning and you seem so much happier with your amazing wife and curious son. New combine decisions, ya gotta do a lot research a move like that could make or break you.
You guys need to realize that a lot of machinery over 15 years old is not being supported by the manufacturer. It's easy to get your self in trouble with old iron.
Looks like the old TR96 running just fine. Yeah may have to get a bit creative to keep her going. The trick of course is to slide into something newer and serviceable before the catastrophic failure.
Great video as always!, we have a 2017 cr8.90 on a 30ft header threshes grain well but really isn’t a good machine reliability is a question mark looking at going for a Deere or claas when it’s time to change
How does the cleaning shoe size and elevator capacity of the TR compare to a 88 series case? Case has a huge amount of aftermarket support as 88 series mechanical wear items are interchangeable for about 20 years.
Watch Teresa running through that dry straw that it does not get stuffed around the exhaust. I would hate for her to experience another fire. It really takes and artist and mechanic to keep that nice well used and maintained combine running. Anyone can take a new one and harvest, but a you keep those vintage machines running like a top and performing like new. Not as fast as some of the newer ones, but it’s not always about speed in small fields. Be nice to see a test of planting. Straight into the stubble, rotary shredding, and flail mowing, then do each with a single VT pass behind to see if it helps. Don’t own a flail because I don’t need one, but those are mulching machines..
Stick with what works and you can get parts for. I run older gleaners. Parts are easy to come by in my parts and I am used to them. So do what works. As much as your doing I would consider hanging onto tr96 for backup or when in a jam. Its paid for. Housing it will be the worst part
CRs have their fair share of some issues... but do a really good job. Jeff Reymond can tell you more probably, Obie Acres, Grumpy farmer, and suppose myself too. I do have a couple videos where i cover some things on our CR9070.
CR9070 some of the best bang for your buck combines out there especially if you can find a low hour one. Not saying they are perfect but they are good machines.
The IH 1st concept of the twin rotor was based on IH 234 Sheller rotors then they dropped the program for the Axial flow and New Holland picked up the Engineer from IH and the rest is history. The 2 longest running original designs still in use is the Twin Rotor and the Axial Flow. All the others are moving to a Hybrid System now so it will be interesting to see if CNH goes to a hybrid system for their mega machine to compete with Fendt, Claas And the X9
they actually have a cylinder fed twin rotor design now. im not sure if its in production yet but I did see that they are working on it. it would be in my opinion a way to increase productivity but I fear it will be hard to prevent grain damage. cylinder type combines did grind the grain if they where set to close so im sure this type will be spinning faster but further away from the concave. im not sure if that's the idea but it would start the shelling/thrashing process before it enters the rotors for faster throughput.
Damn iant that nice wheat! 👍💪 I have 95' lexion 450, still going strong, has 2300 tresher hours, needs only grease and fuel. Great machine! If i could get one new, i would take 2 without blink of an eye!
I think you should stick with the plan to make the next combine a Deere. If CNH is not supporting the TR's then eventually they will do the same thing with the CR's. One of your best competitive advantages is your ability to fix equipment so you need to be with a company that will allow you to put that advantage to work. Even though the NH combines may do a nice job, they won't allow you to have an edge over the competition by running older & cheaper equipment.
It’s always nice to wish someone a Happy Birthday , don’t you think. Wes is a very interesting person. He works hard for his family and all of us here that watch his videos. Hope he has a good year. And that he’s crops do well
A business who is in business to make money, such a crazy idea lol also businesses have to get their money back out of research, development, new tooling and all kinds of stuff. So why everyone has an issue of a business stoping to make parts after 30 years or so is just ridiculous.
@@chadjustice8560so because they made newer machines it's fine with you that they don't support their older equipment is that what your saying? So why is it you can't get parts for the new stuff too?! You're a straight goofball and clown
@@chadjustice8560Let me guess, you support “go green” too? Let’s not keep using what we have and improve on it, let’s completely discontinue older, proven lines and create more waste and waste more resources to create new junk that has a small fraction of the service life that the older models have? Yeah that sounds good. Let me guess, capitalism is also bad? And conservative republicans are the worst of the worst?
Great to see a NH twin roter in wheat. Best machine for small grains, great in soybeans and corn too. If you plan on getting more life out of the TR combine, there are header adapters to mount a deere flex head/corn head. Do a google search for Bish header adapters.
Nowhere on the John Deere website or in their literature do they claim it's a "new design." The only thing claimed is that it is new for John Deere -which is true. But, you read into it whatever you want so you feel better...
Totally agree, you could get one out on a trial with your youtube channel. I had one on on trial last year serious machine. And most importantly you can drive at the same speed as it was a disc mower
no losses it was 60 bu wheat. I did blow out the small seed because I didn't want he dockage from that and it puts back some needed phosphate. you have to realize I didn't send the whole plant through the combine. just the top 12 inches so that makes a difference.
I forgot to add your tr may be junk but its making you money and not cost thousands in easy monthly payments. As the phrase goes "many a good tune has been played on an old fiddle."

Great video Wess, happy for you getting the crop off the field. Wishing you all the best to get through this season on top.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Great to see the wheat pouring in like a flood. Looking forward to seeing whatever videos you have time to share. Wishing you and your family the best.
Thanks Wes, Theresa, William.
Looks like the combine was working good.
Keeping equipment maintained pays off when there's no down time.
👍☺
*working well
Great Job keeping the Old machines going - Glad to see the Family helping out with the Videos.

Your wheat is chunky sir, nice work !! Prob my favorite type of crop to drive by. Looks mesmerizing when the wind hits it. Good luck with bean plantN.
Fantastic crop Wes well done you are killing it now that you have had rain. We’ve had our first rain in 7 months. Our sorghum crop was half.🇦🇺
Congratulations on buying another farm 🎉

I love that you keep running the older equipment. You maintain your gear religiously, it shows. 30 year old machines still doing their thing.
old equipment is the best kind of equipment
because its paid for

Bellissimo video. Bellissimo Trebbia. Bellissimo trattore. Belle riprese. Molto bello e molto bravo. Bella musica. Ottimo lavoro. 👍👍👋👋💪💪🚜🔝🇮🇹🚨😍🤩
All the best my friend hope things work out for you well deserved Top family regards Alan and Ella.
I have always loved the tr series combines. . She sounds good too.
The bottom of the car will be lovely and clean going through that stubble. 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
You are a smart man……I love your videos…hello from Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺
That New Holland EATS the wheat 🌾🌾
Wishing you all the best through harvest. Good wheat
I'd say.

Grumpy Farmer switched from John Deere to New Holland combine last year and really likes it.

Good videos Wesley I like watching your videos you do a good job
We tried that product this year to control deer but not seeing results any imput on what we did wrong would be appreciated
Im running 30 ft rigid headers on our 99s.
Sounds like a setup. We ran a 30ft on a tr97 for a lot of years.
Combine is going like a champ. They don't make them how they use to. Old is gold.
Question, how long does the deer repellent last on a bean field? Till you harvest it?
Thanks
convention ground 5 weeks on no till longer like all season long. but you need to use the high rate.

Wonder if the ford driveshaft could wind around some straw & cause a problem similar to the roadside tractor fire❓🚜

Is wheat in New Jersey a decent price, Wes ?
The best never rest.
Wes sir u are Ole school 🚸 love it❤/ there something about that Ole equipment classic/ yea got keep up with maintenance/ keep up good work sir
What you need is a Shelbourne RSD Stripper Header, it leaves the straw standing an just takes the heads for doing the no till
When will you start making hay? Or are they just not showing it?
The TR was chomping a good rate as the video opened, nice. 👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸

I always enjoyed cutting standing wheat You just set in the seat and watch the reel fold the straw into the head. 🤗🤗🤗
You should keep your tr is paid for lol 😂. All kidding aside the cr are a beast. Awesome in soybeans and corn
Let's hear it for William Edward Pandy!
Hello from Tennessee mr. Wes and miss t
32 years old. But how many seasons did it not get used?

@@onelonleyfarmer Yeah that makes sense i have also heard that the it would discharge off the rotors possibly like the Massey Rotor.

Had 4 John Deeres and would never ever go back
Thoughts on keeping the TR for a backup or run 2 combines?
Barely has enough help to keep one running and grain hauled away
help can be hired.
I wasn’t being sarcastic but if it’s like here in Saskatchewan Canada it’s hard to get help!
Good video.
Good content. 👍
Case ih 2388?
The old stuff is great, it just works till it breaks then its easy to fix, and it works again
looks good
👍🏻🍻
Wess good luck with the combine and the harvest. From across the pond in Great Britain
Nice video
It heard stories of the baler, and decided its my time to start breaking . . . 😅😅😅
Thanks for the food.
On.my.old john Deere it has bolts to make it rigid to cut grain
Happy Birthday Wes, Don from Connecticut.

Great video work from the air conditioned car😅
the reason they discontinued parts is to make and force you buy new stuff. which is stupid starts n goes
Or because they cant support you a whole life. Is not only combines thats are discontinued.

Newer NH heads are much better then the Deeres
At 10:25ish was that Ben & Jerry’s John Deere repellent
Check your ground I sure can’t cut that fast
You need to update that junk machine, :). You need to get at least a TR99. Anything less is junk.

loyalty to the core! I didn't read it I was at a dealership and the salesman stated that it was new technology.
Time for combine upgrade maybe
👍
Congrats on buying that ground!! Good for you.
Wes look into a major cyclone mower there a irish company but it would clean up fields very well for planting
Totally agree, you could get one out on a trial with your youtube channel. I had one on on trial last year serious machine. And most importantly you can drive at the same speed as it was a disc mower
A Gleaner M.. LOL!
Where is the good combine?
What hapend with hay busines?
He still sells hay.
looks like shes eatin now
Why does he drive so fast with old combine I’d love to see loses out back

wow,crusing
You are one of a very few people I have watched cut grain that actually has your reel speed set correctly for your ground speed...
Be careful driving a car in the field. Fire hazard!😢
New Holland TR's were way better than anything else at that time, less damaged grain and cleaner sample in the tank!
Thanks you for grow wheat for me

Dam pandy need slow real down.
We r need rock trap
We you making any money?
What?!
Don’t worry about it. You don’t ask people about their finances. It’s like asking a lady how much she weighs… Zero respect.

You need a TF!
Def the operator put my girl in the driver seat
Going far too fast, there will be enough grain out the back that you wont need to reseed for next year.
