Technically, putting "love" into food is entirely in actions and not in words, in addition to attention to detail which gives the sensation of "love" because of the extra unnecessary effort put in

I agree with this, when I cooked tacos for my recent ex girlfriend. I really wanted to impress her with it because her whole family is Mexican, so when I made them for her one night I tried really hard, extra careful, just to make sure she liked them. And she did end up loving them, which ended up making me feel great inside. So yes, it's in actions, not words

* A bit more sugar
* Lower temp but more cooking time
* Cutting the edge of the bread on sandwiches
* Consistent cutting of ingredients
So yeah, in this case "Love" is not the feeling but the way things are done differently.

The problem with the ''experiment" is that you know who made it, they both love you, and they are professional cooks. It would have been better if your Josh made one and some restaurant made the other. That would be love vs process.
Josh is NOT a professional cook, never went to school for it.

The reason foods made with love are particularly good is because the person making it is subconsciously keeping the preferences of the person that they are making it for in mind, and the outcome is the flavor and texture and smell and just everything is made with you in mind. It is made with you in mind, and thus winds up being exactly right for you in particular.
I think Josh’s love for cooking messed up the test. He can say he hates it, but we all know he secretly whispers, “sweet nothing’s” to the ingredients.
I see him having like full on secret conversations with his ingredients like Bob Belcher on Thanksgiving.
They missed the mark on the hypothesis. Making food with love isn't saying "I love you to the food". It's made by someone who loves the person eating their meal.

I think the "made with love" difference comes from someone who loves food, cooking, and making people happy. A person who pays special attention to every step of the cooking process and that gives it an edge.
People who love their job do tend to do way better at it because they have passion for the craft; so with cooking having a cook who is passionate about their cooking, proud of their food, and happy to see smiling customers the food tends to just taste and look better
I would love to see a part two of this with their Mom's cooking an identical meal and then having the mythical crew tasting and guessing which one is which.
I think it would have been more accurate if both were made by the same person because it’s just judging their cooking skills😭

Food made with love is when the person making it knows how to cook and cares a lot about the people who'll eat it. The ingredients will be well prepared as a result.
Yep. They could have easily tested this. Get a chef unconnected with the show. Give them the ingredients and recipe. Then give the kitcheneers the same ingredients and recipe and tell them they are making this food to feed their family/friends in a special episode.

My interpretation of "made with love" is that someone who loves cooking will more than likely be a better cook than someone who doesn't enjoy it so therefore you can taste the love, as in, you can tell that the person who made it loves doing it. It has nothing to do with love for a person or even showing love towards the ingredients. Everyone who made food in this video loves cooking. I guarantee you would be able to tell the difference if you got someone in to make food for you who hates cooking and most likely never cooks as a result of that.

I agree with this. My mum loves me and my siblings and is a good cook generally. But she hates cooking so the food is decent (still good) but not good good. However my brother who loves to cook and is just learning, his food tastes amazing. He enjoys the whole process and gets so excited about us all trying whatever he's learning to make at the time and you can just taste the happiness in the food. Its definitely a thing
