    Will a tune void the warranty? I've heard Ford can tell if the computer has been tuned?

    • @8020Media

      If you use something that just piggybacks the ECU then they won't be able to tell so long as you uninstall it before going. So the insight is good, but I still laugh when people spout HP numbers when stalking about mods. Oh headers will add x, cai x, intake x. Hell if you add all of the numbers up you can ad 200 hp just with bolt on parts with out the tune lol. It just doesn't work like that. Unless you add a dyno video for each individual part, I'd skip the hp gains guess. A cai wont add 5 to 10 hp unless you retune the car, but wait, there's more. Adding a cai to the truck will decreases the flow restrictions, but if you don't decrease the exhaust restrictions, it want add any noticeable power. The two together will net you a slight increase of pwr, but if you don't pay 400 to 1500 for a tune, you want see it. But dynos lie! The best way to get the most pwr per dollar is cai, heads, cam, full exhaust, and a true tune. That can put up true worth the price hp numbers. But even then, unless you do all of the work yourself, you're looking at 10 easy if a shop does it.

    • @8020Media
      @8020Media  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Duals - Not really sure what you expect? Why wouldn't we talk about HP when talking about mods, that's one of the biggest reason people buy mods.

    • @DualsPortvet
      @DualsPortvet Před 5 měsíci +1

      I think I was pretty clear with my comment. Talking hp numbers is fine IF you can show the dyno numbers to prove support them. I’ve been around for a good bit. 5 to 10 hp gains by adding just a cai without a tune is pretty much BS. The ecu isnt going to change its programmed mapping just because you changed filters. In fact, without a tune you can lose power as your air to fuel ratio gets fucked. This I know as it happened to me on both my z28 and 5.3 Silverado.
      So my point is, talking numbers of individual parts can be misleading to guys that don’t know. Most of the time, if you do one mod, you won’t see the true benefits until you do another.

    • @8020Media
      @8020Media  Před 5 měsíci

      Duals - In reference to this, "5 to 10 hp gains by adding just a cai without a tune is pretty much BS," yes, we meant to say with a tune. That is a mispeak on our part. Thanks for taking the time to share your insight and opinion.
