Mountain Ash, Wales. Princess Elizabeth becomes a bard in ancient Welsh ceremony.
Druids raise the ancient and sacred sword above their heads for the ceremony at the National Eisteddfod of Wales at Dyffryn Park. High angle shots of the ceremony in progress. "Bard" and "Druid" are not the same thing. The bards were poets and singers and the tradition of giving prizes to singers and poets has carried through in Wales into the 21st century. We don't know much about the druids as they disappeared under Roman occupation. According to the Romans they believed in reincarnation, studied astronomy and could act as peacekeepers, preventing battles.

Some people really ought to make an effort to learn a little about Welsh culture, the National Eisteddfod and the C18th "Druid Revival" which was rooted in Romanticism, Christianity and Welsh national pride. While you do that please also refer to the writings of Iolo Morgannwg which inspired much of rhe revival (almost all of which is entirely fictional) and also learn a little about the strong Welsh Christian tradition through the Welsh Methodists, Welsh Baptists, and the Undeb yr Annibynwyr Cymraeg.
