What about wither hoard?
Black Hammer was probably the most powerful PVE weapon of all time. The fact that is was a legendary and a special on top of everything was crazy. Still remember that Fatebringer, Black Hammer, Gjallarhorn loadout in Y1
Destiny 1 was one of the best gaming experiences I’ll never get back
Either Fatebringer or Vision of confluences
@@Letterman5 a lot of us still play!
this man literally forgot fatebringer.
standard loadout 1. fatebringer 2. optional i ran mostly shotgun but was easily swapped for a scout or sniper 3. gjallarhorn
Gllarhorn or however you say it pre nerf, still after nerf it was a must have for Crota
I still remember the day I got my Gjallarhorn to drop from cheesing a nightfall in D1. That moment is seared into my head. It was like winning the lotto.
Same with me except it was Icebreaker. Couldn’t stop screaming.
I remember never getting G Horn til Rise of Iron free weapon, even though I did Nightfalls and raids all the time.
I remember getting my Gjallarhorn from completing a regular (level 20) strike playlist. I couldnt believe it. I remember saying with tears in my eyes "I just got rewarded the most desired weapon in the entire game from completing a regular strike". It was so special for me because I didnt have any friends to play with, so end game activities like raids and nightfalls were impossible to be done by me. Getting Gjallarhorn is my most special Game Moment, not only because it was a rare and desired weapon by the entire comunity, but for me it was pretty much impossible to get, but the RNGods graced me.
Yup those moments are gone from D2 sadly
I got mine the first time i ran vault of glass. Had no idea it was the legendary RL it was
This video also bringing out PTSD...
yeah, but also nostalgic
Man Fr. Literally my first thought 😂
Is it from getting carried to many times in carry? :/
Seeing gameplay of curse of Osiris and warmind maps really makes me miss them.. I'll never understand why those maps haven't been brought back already
It’s a time issue. When Beyond Light came out, Bungie updated the game’s engine, with that, according to them, they had to go over all of the areas by hand and fix/remake them.
So some of the old crucible maps were taken out to save time when updating to the new engine. If they were to add them back in, it isn’t as simple as just flipping a switch, it would take a lot of effort.
@@wastedpotenti4l321 so you think they'll bring them all back ?
@@CosmicRain144 Doubt it, which to be honest, if they kept all the DLC's, there would be simply to much content and to much story to really get into it
@@frenchtoasto_o9536 not an issue for FFXIV
@@frenchtoasto_o9536 hell no. more content is never bad
Don't forget, the Moutain Top also had sticky nades. I would tag doors with them and let roaming supers kill themselves, or favorite on Legion's Gulch, a barricade and a MT round behind it on the catapult landing pads.
One of the clips I chose was using stickies! That was the double kill
u have the same profile pic as the one on top of ur comment
@@polaire001 I was just thinking that lmfao
I know you mentioned it but Uriels Gift was the bane of PvP in D2y1. Was soo accurate and stable
Mida, uriels, teamshot galore, yikes that feels like a long time ago now
450s back then also had ridiculously long range and Uriel’s Gift had high caliber rounds on top of it
@@joshlewis575 i used mida multi tool in d2 y1. Good Times.
Uriels gift to this day is my favorite auto rifle, still have mine in the vault
I remember Xur selling Red Death the first week of D1 but I didn’t have enough strange coins to buy it, so the second week he came I purchased the Ghorn because I was desperate for an Exotic. Week 3 came and EVERYBODY was buying the Suros Regime, I remember being so mad because I bought a stupid rocket launcher instead of the overpowered AR that took over the Crucible. A couple weeks later and I was so glad to have Ghorn, I got Vex my second clear and I enjoyed that overpowered gun for over 2 weeks.
I miss d1 so much , forever grateful to grow up with such a fun game. Pre ordered d1 and still playing d2
the memories in d1 are unmatched smh.... and theres no way to recreate the fun i had playing destiny 1 in its prime days. unfortunately i dont like destiny anymore and ive stopped for good and this is gonna be the first time im not buying a dlc since d1
@@talal3c yea bro same I miss d1 so much it was the one of the best experiences and we won’t ever get it back
@@talal3c come back, a lot of us still play regularly
@@Soulsebb no
@@talal3c ok👌
To add more context to pocket infinite at it's most broken state you could've continuously fired the gun for about 12 shots it had a base mag size of 5
Give me back my baby😭
@@Daytimeprophet3 seriously bring it back we all miss it
It could also crash your game lmao, with the amount of rounds you could fire at the ground
And it was projectile bolts 😬
I miss the gun. It was one of my favorites. It made every crucible kill so delicious
Fun fact about Prometheus Lens: XUR SOLD IT ON LASER TAG WEEKEND.
Yep they wanted everyone to play tag that weekend. Just insta death over n over
They made Xur sell it instead of cancelling trials for that weekend.
I am proud to have been there to experience laser tag weekend. It was cool of Bungie to add an emblem for those who did as well as another for Lord of Wolves.
Most insanely bugged weapon I’ve ever seen on a pvp game😂
You really need the footage of truth being shot through a portal, then travelling all the way around the map to hit its target.
The Truth target lock is insane.
I think pre-nerf black spindle/whisper of the worm probably had the highest use rate out of any of these. In most raid boss fights you're almost guaranteed to see a Divinity and it's still just a fraction of how absolutely ubiquitous Whisper was
Season 3, OG Claymore with the first introduction of Desperado was quite frightening. Especially since it was so difficult to obtain.
I feel like another gun that everyone forgets about is how broken witherhoard was when it first dropped. It would end any raid boss in seconds due to a bug.
You forgot something about why suros was nerfed in D1. Its exotic perk allowed ANY hit to immediately start health regeneration. So basically suros battles turned into regeneration battles.
I worked so dang hard for my Not Forgotten. I miss being able to use it in all current light level activities.”! 😢
Ah I remember the old days of Trials of Icebreaker, genuinely one of my favorite guns of all time- behind pre-nerf Doctrine of Passing, my D1 players know what I mean.
I remember buying GHorn when it first came out, i was so young at the time that exotics to me was extremely rare and a amazing accomplishment, Ghorn wasn't my first exotic weapon, but it was the only one I didn't regret buying to this day
A lot of people forget that exotics sometimes had secret perks in d1. Gjallarhorn actually secretly had proximity detonation
This video bring back so much memories! I love Last Word D1 version, my favorite weapon so far!
I miss Fatebringer in this list, this weapon has history to tell too!
I still remember Prometheus And LOW when they were at there peek, I honestly miss the days where we only had to worry about one gun being broken instead of the current times where we have so many one shot weapons that define a game, back then it was so much nicer, yes there were so many complaints about it but now it feels almost like it’s more meta then skill based in some games I play, I try to use other weapons and end up going 0 and 10 sometimes but as soon as I use the meta weapons I can go 20 and 4, I really do wish we could experience that time one again just so we can remember truly how much different it was then vs now
Remember Xur sold Prometheus Lens a few days later lol. I had just unlocked that new sidearm and went into crucible and got deleted by the Lens.
Don't forget the Hardlight meta in D2. So many ricochet round around corner kills.
That's what I was saying. I couldn't play one match without seeing 20 lines bouncing off the walls and shredding me or some other unlucky person.
Couldn’t see some of the maps here anymore. Thanks for bringing in some nostalgia.😊
Effrideet also rolled with a perk that would bring it down to a single bullet in the mag, so every shot was a 1 shot. That gun was legendary
The funniest part about the Prometheus Lens laser tag weekend was that Xür was *selling it at the same time*
Surprised chaperone in its D2 prime wasn’t on here. And as someone who still plays D1 and has seen every meta I think Touch of Malice (for pve) and tlaloc (for pvp) definitely belong on this list to name a couple. Still fun seeing the list.
Just started playing d2 again, your vids are the best man
maybe a hot take: Bungie should un-nerf Trench Barrel. Nerfing it was a reaction to auto-reloading that wells provided, but having to reload it (or having to waste an additional perk like Demolitionist that only reloads when your grenade is up to get auto reloading) dramatically reduces the impact it can have.
8:05 ty for being one of the few big names to actually call this out lol
this brings back memories to getting one of the first flawless’s ever using vex mythoclast on burnout when trials first launched
I got nervous because the only reason I watched this was for the PLens, and it rightfully got the #1 spot lmao
Laser tag weekend was such an iconic time for D2, I think you should’ve mentioned that Xur sold it that weekend right before they nerfed it into the ground.
Great video pattycakes! I could listen to your voice forever, its soothing
I did not realize that emblem was for using Prometheus during Lazer weekend. That's cool. I actually have something unique. XD
The Prometheus lens weekend was by far the most fun I’ve ever had playing destiny/destiny 2. It was absolute chaos in the best of ways lol
I remember my first raid of the vault of glass in Destiny 1 and I was the lowest light level on my team I think like 25. I ended up getting the last word from atheon and my friends were so mad that I got it since I was such low lvl. But that gun ended up being my go to for pretty much everything it felt like until the taken king dropped.
Please make a sequel! It was so nice to see all of these OP weapons from destiny’s past!
The last word and the 1000yrd Stare was a beautiful combo in D1
I think an important thing to mention with recluse is master of arms makes your body shot damage the same as headshot damage making it incredibly easy to use
Ahhh I remember the old days with the mythoclast that gun never left my hands early on in destiny
This came across of my recommendations and all I must say is thank you for causing me a headache for seeing all of these damn guns that cause me unbelievable amounts of pain either farming it or getting smacked like rihanna in the crucible by it. Also revoker had me crying trying to solo to get it got super close but then got trashed on near the top of the metaphorical mountain
I'm sorry but Prometheus isn't #1 on the list lol, but thank you for unlocking memories. I remember getting Gally from harpy chest in vog in d1 then getting Vex in the same raid. Crazy times and i miss them
it’s been so many years, and yet, the name “pocket infinity” still sends shivers down my spine
Seeing escalation protocol footage was a blast from the past
I love the amp rig in the back. I love my Mesa Mark III.
Mountain top
Man, I was only ever really a COD player back in the days of D1. Even though I did play the vanilla D1 campaign, I didn't stick around for most of the rest of the games lifecycle, so seeing some of these crazy busted weapons and just how different things were back then makes me realise how much I have missed out on😞.
I'll never forget getting the mythoclast 4 times in a row when VoG first came out in d1 and my friends despising me for it, then getting it after my second VoG run in d2. Good times.
I only played D2 for a long time at ShadowKeep when MT and Recluse were King. The mountaintop grind was so long, but once I had the combo I felt like a god.
ooh one thing about d1 thorn, im pretty sure it got patched at one point but if you pulled out ghost if you got two tapped it would stop the burn, ppl would two tap and run away and come back really confused as to how you did not die, iirc it worked for regular burning as well so if you were about to burn to death or were getting ticked by thorn you could pull out ghost and it would not finish damaging you. I dont think many ppl knew about that one
OG EP shotty was nuts, remember when it was in the heavy slot!!!
The Trials scorch fest weekend is still my favorite weekend of trials. Frickin laser beams everywhere.
For those of you who were fortunate enough to not experience the D1 Thorn/ Last Word PVP meta, this video does not do it justice.
The Thorn was a consistent 2 tap across map, and Last Word could kill you in 10 frames FLAT. I want you to image the Dead Mans Tale PRE NERF but with Cranial Spike permanently turned on to max damage and you crank up the aim assist to max.
This was also around the time where Warlocks had a firebolt grenade which dealt 50% damage and applied scorch to multiple enemies which took them down to 75% health and denied health regen. So if you managed to NOT 2 tap someone, you could tag someone with the grenade + thorn/ last word bodyshot, it would ALWAYS result in a kill no matter how high their resilience was.
The worst part about it? That wasn't patched "in the next season." Nononono, seasons didn't exist back then. This was around the time where Bungie community outreach was at an all-time low and patches were ONLY done when major content drops were released, so once a year. This meta lasted over 300 days, the equivalent of FOUR to FIVE seasons.
I used to cook with that green Shingen-C at a huge level disadvantage in early iron banner. It just felt so right.
in early destiny weapons didnt effect your light level you could run 3 white weapons in trails and still be the same level. If you meant you were underleveld in general then gj
They should bring back laser tag as a mode like scorched.
6:20 ye Revoker is the only Sniper I use
And usually the only weapon I use in PvP to this day
12:00 And Icebreaker is my favorite Exotic of all time
Which kinda explains why I like the Revoker so much lol
I haven't seen a single Lorentz/Arby this season. Love it.
I'd like to nominate hardlight too during the auto rifle meta. Mainly hardlight I still have nightmares about that gun lol
Hardlight didn't have anything on OG D1 Launch Suros and other autos. It was a 4-5 bullet crit kill🥲
@@Daytimeprophet3 I'm talking about year 3 season of the worthy. I hated suros too btw. Auto rifle meta was the worst ind rainy history in my opinion. Easy to use and fast ttk does no mix well
Any advice for a casual player just looking to get the Hushed Syrinx and Falcon's chase, or would I just have to get lucky?
The Lament definitely deserved at least an honorable mention tbh. It’s still one of the best exotics in the game rn!
I actually had it in the original version of the list but it got bumped for a few other options
I remember absolutely MELTING Expunge bosses with it. Got me my quickest time of like... 3 minutes on one of them.
@@angelousmortis8041 Lament gang. B)
@@cashewlater5317 Lament and Lucent Blade, name a better couple, I'll be waiting~
@@angelousmortis8041mountain top and recluse
I remember getting suros back in d1was my first exotic. Damn she was a monster back then and damn do we never need things like that back.
18:08 I remember when xur sold it and turned trials into laser tag lmao
I remember playing through Vault of Glass on hard 14 times before I got my Vex Mythoclast
i only got mountain top and the recluse for pve and i was devastated when i couldn’t use it when i came back to the game
I loved that iron banner pulse rifle in d1
The prometheus lens one hurts even more now because I never got my emblem and only noticed a few years after the emblem came out :(
What? No Sunshot?! That cannon is freaking awesome in ad clearing. One shot clears 6 or more, hell I even take out Captains when I hit the little guy net to him.
My first raid ever was an lfg carry hard mode VoG about 2 months after it came out, got truth out of the gorgon chest and then Vex to drop from atheon.
You guys have never heard a fireteam so bitter.
i remember this exactly. i got clever dragon absolute 10/10 god when the first IB came out for rise of iron. the way it was you didnt get much loot. it took people like 2 months to get one let alone the god roll i had and by the time they did it was already nerfed. there was trials games where i know people inspect me and they just left because they had nothing to compete. i was an average player but high cal with my god roll was just absurd and i knew it was too op.
i remember to this day i got my first gjallarhorn. it was the first time i participated in any raid on D1. buddy of mine had an atheon checkpoint and asked if i wanted to join. i looked up how to do the final boss and joined and after the first attempt we cleared the boss and i got the all white shader, the emblem, and a gjallarhorn.
I haven't played Destiny in a year, but I enjoy the nostalgia.
I was there for the Broken Prometheus lens and I still have the emblem and I have yet to see another person with one today
I start playing d2 when forsaken dropped but I didn’t have any friends to play with at the time so I stopped playing. When season of arrivals started I had friends to play with. Eventually we all got recluse and of course a couple weeks after we got our favorite weapons they all got sunset. I vividly remember the moment shaxx gave me one of my favorite weapons of all time.
The Prometheus lens bug was hilarious to me, literally couldn’t even play crucible without getting killed within two seconds, and then Xur sold it so literally everyone had it, fun times honestly
I miss the grind, nowadays bungie wants you to play weekly
I forgot how nasty the felwinter and Thorn combo was all those years ago
I have the prismatic inferno emblem. Prometheus Lens was a nightmare
I was one of the rare few that got the Vex Mythoclast one the first to drop and I will say this: in PvP, instant melt everything. It was really dirty.
Destiny 1 hand cannon meta with thorn/hawkmoon and last word still haunts me to this day
I was team hawkmoon all the way
Fun fact about the Prometheus Incident, it was so brutal and chaotic that bungie manually made Xur bring it the weekend before the patch, so that more players would have a chance to experience it. In an old twab around that time.
Hand cannons having taken the places of scout rifles and pulse rifles in pvp it is crazy.
Final round/ one in the chamber (I think) on snipers or hand cannons was soooo OP 1 hit bod shot snipers and 1 hit head shot hand cannons in D1!
Eirene RR4 was a nightmare when banshee sold it because it rolled litc
@@helsinreaper I had a mean effredeits spear. I forgot how to spell it lmao but it was the iron banner sniper I think.
i miss og predyth revenge with ambush scope, i remeber going insta flawess trails in the first weekend it was live with that, red death (which then 2 burst headshotted) and jodlers hammer. But that snipe man, low zoom so you could see everything and crazy aim assist.
Got perfect balanced and counter balanced on my clever dragon in D1, man I love that as my primary
Thanks man I didn’t wanna sleep tonight
Wait... Can you use Lorenz driver + gyrfalcons? IK that volatile won't be too crazy, but it'll chain invis and have a *small* explosion but Invis is already annoying as all heck
Felwinters lie sniper lol shot package and even at that same time full auto also reduced the pellet spread as well.
god i miss launch dmt, it itched the exotic lever action fantasy so much. ik people hated it but we needa go back to it being a 150 from the hip
Efrideets was crazy back in Y1 Trials lmao
The 2 great loadouts of Destiny, Fatebringer (Arc), Black Hammer and Gjallarhorn vs Mountaintop, Recluse and Anarchy
Ayy man the suros still claps don’t sleep on it
Also this whole video was nostalgia
Touch of Malice pre blessing of light nerf in D1 was so much fun
Oh ya, spin to win was just fun in D1, worked hard to get Dark drinker.
I remember two weeks into Destiny, I got Gjallahorn to drop from a skirmish match and got 8 more after till Xur sold it again.
doubt
Hair apparent definitely an honorable mention.
The prometheus lens =D I was one of the first to use it in PvP and i had like a full day where my kill ratio was so stupid and high, every game i went in they was calling me out for being a bot.
Dark Drinker was my shit in D1, all of those swords were probably the most fun quests in D1 for me. I had unbelievable amounts of fun getting them all, sad they don't exist anymore.
Single body shot* with Thorn plus at bolt was a kill. 56+(6x7)+122. Arcbolts and firebolts were a menace, speaking of.
was it really? wow that's even more OP than I remembered lol
Firebolts with touch of flame especially, although typically skilled Stormcallers had a higher skill ceiling than Sunsingers… but the firebolts and axion bolts were on a different level in crucible.
Gjalarhorn dropped for me from my very first ever legendary engram super early in d1 and I had no idea what it was. My friend and I went to the moon and just kept shooting stuff cause it was so cool until someone messaged me telling me how rare it was haha
