- Kate and Simon built this 250 square foot off-grid Scandinavian-style tiny house as a cottage and have since started building tiny houses as a family business.

This tiny house is 8.5 feet wide, 13 feet tall, and 20 feet long. It's been designed to be fully off-grid with a solar panel and 12-volt battery bank for power, propane for the stove and water heater, and a cubic mini wood stove for heat.
They used a soy-based spray foam insulation, and a natural oil finish for the interior wood finish.
We love all the space saving furniture they custom designed for their tiny house, and all the thought that went into making it a functional space for the couple and their young son.
The kitchen is massive with loads of storage space and countertops, and they did it without having overhead cabinets which gives the space a nice open concept feel.
The loft is quite spacious and can accommodate a queen-sized bed, and also has built-in storage and night tables, as well as a window for ventilation.
In the bathroom they have a 30x30 inch shower, a dry bucket-style toilet, and they have a grey water tank.
With the sliding patio doors leading onto a spacious deck, this tiny house merges indoor and outdoor living space seamlessly.

This is one of my favorite Tiny Houses. Off grid yet can be converted. Non toxic wood stain and non toxic soy bean insulation. OMG! He is speaking my language. I love all this. I love the offseting of the front door. Design and materials are all what I'm looking for in a Tiny House. Well done!

It was normal back in the day. Sad families aren’t there for each other anymore. For the most part. And that’s where the problems lay.

Same. We live in a family owned Condo (which could sell any month), and it is 2300 sq/ft. At first we loved it, but after a year of living here we have so much unused space that requires so much cleaning. Its also hard to keep the kiddos quite here and has caused much tension with the neighbors. Even half this space would be too much.

I like the idea of the non-toxic foam that they use as an insulator for all the electrical parts.

To everyone out there! NEVER burn finished wood, or any kind of engineered wood product like shown at 2:04 (they are burning plywood). The adhesives and chemicals used when burned can be extremely toxic.

Wow! Beautiful tiny house. I love it! Open, bright, cozy, with a modern feel. Cute couple too. I totally support the tiny house movement. You save so much time, money, work, and effort. Less is more! You appreciate what you have a lot more as well. Very relaxing without loads of stuff. My dream is a tiny house kinda modeled after a pool/guest house. The only exception is I don't want it on wheels. Strictly on some lot/land. Thanks for sharing this amazing video.

Hey, I use that same woodstove in my cabin.. though I wouldn't recommend it... you cannot fit enough wood to heat longer than 3-4 hours, meaning, even if you stuff it full, it wont last till you wake up, leaving you very cold in the morning, depending on where you live. just a heads up, I would use more space and money to wake up warm.

Not if you downsize. I find this huge, and more than enough space. YMMV, of course, but obviously, you don't live tiny.
LOVE the fact you're using all natural and all off-site grid. Now just design one for the disabled (no ladders)

I love this house. One of the better design I have seen.
Love the space saving features and clean lines. So small though -- at my cottage I needed a garage this size just to store canoe, boats and motors, life jackets, fishing gear, tools and workshop.

I love this tiny house! I think they did an outstanding job for their first home like this. So nice of grandma to allow them a place to park. The use of all white throughout makes the space seem visually larger. I noticed there is no laundry facility. Also I did not see any hanging storage. Other than that it is perfect!
