Hello everyone my name is SHYJU RAJU.
Welcome to my CZcams channel SR COMPUTER EDUCATION
This video will explain in detail how to do decryption using hill cipher for 3by3 matrix.
In this video I had also show how to do modular operation and find the result of modulus operation very easily and quickly.
After watching this video student will be able to solve hill cipher decryption of 3by3 matrix very easily in examination.
In this video I had also given link for the other video in which I had shown how to find result of modular operation very easily and very quickly using calculator.
This video show the shortcut method to find modular operation result within seconds.
Hill cipher decryption 3by3 matrix is very important and mostly commonly asked question in examination.

Hi Mr.Shyju while decrypting in finding determinant of K if we get negative value, what to do? For example we get 441, if we get -441 what to do?
Hello Sir, you will never get negative value of K, because according to rules of key matrix, it is compulsory to have positive value of k , I hope I cleared your doubts, let me know if you still have any queries. Thanks
@@SRCOMPUTEREDUCATION how does one calculate the inverse of 441 ? i use euclidean formula and i get 17 not 25. what have i done wrong ?
nice video,it has been helpfull on ma side
Sir you had told that inverse of 441 is 25 . But 25[abj k] = that Matrix which you already written . So, my doubt is 25 is multiple with the Matrix value of K or not
according to text book the formula for plaintext and ciphertext are different, C=PK mod 26 and for P it is P=Ck(inverse) mod 26 but it is different here.
Sowmya vipparthi Please refer wikipedia and william stalling book, this the correct method if you take c=pk you will get wrong answer c=kp is correct, I know in some reference book it is pk. Follow my method its correct. From your video on finding the adjoint of 3by3 matrix, the first value of the matrices should be 70, however, in this video, it is 8. Please explain how you have reached these 8 5 10 21 8 21 21 12 8 matrices value.Iam facing same problem need help iam getting till matrix value as 8 21 5 8 5 5 12 18 after that i got stuck

For all confused how to get 8,5,10,21,21,12,8 from 70,21,224,5,70... start top left, take 70/26(your mod) round up to next # 3 in this case. calculate 3*26=78 then -original 70 for remainder which is 8. next number and so on.

sir one small doubt we have to take ato z as 0 to 25 sir
can't v take it as 1 to 26
Yes you can take, but in most of the reference book you will always find A=1 in Hill cipher example
7118 4b
Fin
Absolutely correct now you can solve any example of hill cipher, I hope you got that confidence
decryption of "CAT" = "FIN"
What is the case if we get |K| as negative value?
SATHYA K Its always +ve in Hill cipher examples.
In some of the examples we do get negative determinants. For example K=HILL and plaintext=HELL.
You cannot solve those examples, and you will never get this type of questions in exams
Offcourse you can solve those kind of problems. You just have to add n value to the determinant until you get a positive value... And then proceed further.
Its rule of [k] , its should be grater than 0, about adding n value, this you have to do in matrices value, I had already explained this in details in my video.
Sir please send me a question of nma and mcad mcqs
