That multi plug socket with nothing in, some Diesel cars have a wiring plug plugged in it just as a holder, to keep wire safe, as the next trim spec up, the circular hole above, has a Water in Diesel sensor screwed in and the multi socket plugs into back of it. My Xsara Picasso has just the multi plug wire inserted just as a holder doing nothing, with no water sensor.. I replaced my filter 2 years ago, about to do it again, priming with the hand primer is proper way to refill filter, it’s just like if you run out of fuel, system is empty, that hand primer pump is fitted to many Diesel cars, I used to own a Peugeot 406 TD that had one, same idea to refill empty system.

Great tutorial, thanks! My 1.4l Petrol Berlingo (2006) just died on me as I was driving, for the second time in a month..! Three weeks ago some mechanics replaced the fuel pump, as no fuel was going into the engine, and it got the car running again. I've got the exact same issue now, so I guess the actual problem is further down the line from the fuel pump, perhaps some clogged injection pipes somewhere which overwork the fuel pump and kill it? I'm not sure where to look anymore.. thanks a lot!

I've reconnected everything back up and pumped the primer for ages, can't hear any fuel movement and not getting any harder to pump. Any ideas? Great video by the way, broken down well and easy to follow, many thanks.

Have you connected all the pipes back up?

I've done a few now and never had a problem pal. Reconnect everything and then pump the pump. You should hear the fuel filter taking in diesel ⛽️

What if the hand pump isn’t installed in the engine? How to bleed fuel out of the fuel lines in this case?

Helpful vid, do you think its worth cleaning egr vave whilst filter is off? Car is smokey on cold starts, have you done an egr clean?
    Cheers

I've never done an egr valve clean pal. I'm always a little hesitant to remove parts that could break unless they actually need replacing if you get me 🙏
