But also that CTR didn’t really seem all that fast…and it’s a pretty big jump for a manual CTR to be able to outpace a 10A 5.0 that easily traps 118-120 in the 1/4. I’m just going to say it - that Mustang is the 4cyl turbo. Even with quiet setting the active exhaust in the 5.0 makes a glorious V8 noise and in this video you hear nothing but 4cyl from outside…only the camera car is making a V8 noise.

This isn’t a CRx, it’s FBO CTR with upgraded turbo on E30, he is putting at least 450 hp to the ground and weighs 700 lbs less than a 5.0. Some of these Type R can make up to 550 fwhp with upgraded fuel system. Stock 5.0 puts 400-410 hp to the ground.
Civic type r is a track weapon that is lacking the straight line speed of the new gt. With turbo engines that is an easy fix exhaust and tune and bolt ons with the handling capabilities you have a 4 door porsche basically.

I know the Type R isn’t your run of the mill civic, and turbo cars are relatively easy to mod extra power from, but this is sill a 300 hp FWD car stock vs a 460 hp car, with about 700 lbs weight difference, it is still a Civic vs a Mustang 5.0. If the cars were road racing, drag racing or even in a video game, they wouldn’t be in the same class, level, tier or bracket.

2017 GT owner here with some light mods + tune. Even if the Type-R was tuned with extensive mods, the race should have been closer especially on the top ends where the mustangs really shine. Stock for stock, the GT should ALWAYS decisively win a roll race. No way that is a v8 stag.

That's an Ecoboost. Not even a Mustang fanboy, quite the opposite actually, but GT PP1s or PP2s have around 460-470 bhp. Their 10spd autos are also significantly faster than their 6spd manuals. I drive a 450whp FRS and I can tell you that I don't even have to floor the gas or downshift to shit on Type R's, but I can't sleep on 2018+ GT PP's.

Shift to "S" manually select gear you want to start in with paddles, mash the gas, shift into "D" and it's faster. It's a well known fact on these A10 cars and makes a considerable difference. No lag time for it to downshift just by flooring it in whatever gear it may be in at the time. Difference also in what speed and gear you start in, lower speed rolls won't make as much difference but 30 rolls and up it will cause you will manually shift it to a lower gear than the A10 does on its own even in Sport mode.

This one has G25/550 turbo upgrade, the 550 means it can handle 550 hp, this CTR is FBO , so it has full exhaust, intake, intercooler, probably meth kit and is running on E30-E40. I’m sure it has the tune to go with it. Low end he putting 450 to the front wheels, but he could easily be making over 500 fwhp.

People are really underestimating the Civic here. Mustang GT dyno approx 380rwhp. Tuned Civic type R dyno at approx 320fwhp. This civic has an upgraded turbo and ethanol, not to mention less weight. 10sp Mustangs are quick for sure but an ecoboost would be left in the dust here
I’m not surprised, my stg2 mk7 gti could keep with my tuned 14 Mustang from a 30 roll and even pull on it a bit but from a dig? No chance. Bus lengths on the gti because it’s wrong wheel drive just like the Honda

People are really underestimating the Civic here. Mustang GT dyno approx 380rwhp. Tuned Civic type R dyno at approx 320fwhp. This civic has an upgraded turbo and ethanol, not to mention less weight. 10sp Mustangs are quick for sure but an ecoboost would be left in the dust here
I’m not surprised, my stg2 mk7 gti could keep with my tuned 14 Mustang from a 30 roll and even pull on it a bit but from a dig? No chance. Bus lengths on the gti because it’s wrong wheel drive just like the Honda
