I'm an OG fan of ninjago. I really agree with you
To be fair, there was no way the Lego Ninjago movie was gonna be able to make a stand-alone film that captured the essence of the tv series. I do think it's better that they tried to tell a separate story, as a movie that required you to watch the series would have... flopped. I just kinda wish they came up with a bit more of an original story...

Fun fact: Clutch Powers was referenced in the Lega Ninjago series.
And then after he had a season where he actually appeared they mention him a bunch of times
Yeah
Clutch Powers, my childhood nemesis, from the awful animation to the boring story and abysmal attempts at puns, one day I shall finish thee off.
He is a real character later
(but the worst)
You know that lego ninjago has like 13 seasons i recomennd season 1-7 the newer ones are lego movie
The Empire Strikes Out was actually my first exposure to anything Star Wars related.
That's great but Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga is what got many young people into a galaxy far far away.
(Oh and also OT & Prequels are great while the Sequels suck ass whoo!)
If you want to watch Ninjago you should watch the TV show. It's a lot better than the movie. The characters and fight scenes and stories are much more interesting. It has 9 seasons already out and it's just getting better and better. I really really recommend the TV show. It's one of my favorite cartoons of all time. You should start with the pilot episodes and go in order though. By the way there's a bad special between seasons 6 and 7 but still watch it anyway. Even if just once. The movie was fine but it was nothing compared to the LEGO movie.
Oh gosh, I watched it for years as a kid! I'll never be able to recommend it highly enough. The ending it gave Garmadon and Llyod was so much better than the movie's ending for them.
Omg I did too. Honestly my favorite thing about watching it was the theme song
Oh man i stopped around season 6-7, i should totally get to watching it again. I remember it being super awesome
i i’ve seen every episode other then the horribly treated season 8
I got into ninjago because of the movie
By far the best part I liked about the Lego Movie was the Real Life twist at the end. As someone who grew up partly neglected by his parents, the message of that twist resonated pretty strong with me and certainly is addressed to all the parents to spend more time with their children.
Ok 1st of all. You pronounced Ninjago wrong. Ninjago. Not Ninja-Go. ANYWAY.... the show IS WAY BETTER. I recommend it. Lloyd is absolutely amazing in the show. So is everyone else. The show has MUCH more character.
Yeah I was thinking the movie was going to promote the show but NOPE it didn’t even mention that it was based on a show. Now 70% of the Earth thinks that Ninjago was invented by Warner Bros.
But it should have ended in SEASON 3
SEASON 4 AT BEST

@@tomgeytenbeek2207 actually the only times they could've put an ending for it is Season 2, 3,(if they added more context)and Season 10(if they added more context)

Nah Ryan George Said That It’s Basically Matrix
For the LEGO ninjago movie I wish the creators used the voice actors from the show
I actually kinda liked the voice of Kai though.
And Jackie Chan as Sensei Wu
True. True.
Very much agreed. I loved Dave Franco as Lloyd but the original cast was just so perfect. I was definitely thrown off by the new voices.
@EllaFant It is. Have you watched it?
The thing about most Batman movies is that the characters each have their own personality. Dark Knight Batman is slightly self-absorbed, but still cares about his town. Lego Batman is Lonely, Relatable, and isn't perfect. Dark Knight Joker is a man who has gone completely mad beyond redemption. Lego Joker is still insane, but has feelings, likes and dislikes. All of these versions are great, the characters have all kinds of personalities, instead of just one.
Well said Max. They're an interesting contrast really. Kinda shows both extremes of the joker's character

Yes! True
yeah ninjago was one of my favourites
I know it's my fave show
The thing that hurts the most, at least to me for the Lego Ninjago movie is that instead of embracing what was there, they rebooted everything.
I mean, this was a show that at the time had at least 7 seasons (including the pilot) and a special under its wing, and while that maybe would've been confusing, it makes the movie feel like an insult to the fans of the original media, the opposite of what the original Lego movie and the Lego Batman movie did.
Makes me wonder if it would've been better if it was not a reboot and just a sort of special like Day of Departed was...but well, better.
Like TTG, the Lego Ninjago movie try hard to be cool and entertain the audience but the way they changed everything is a huge insult to the fans. I'm not really a fan of the show that much. It's really good. The movie should have sticked with the original series that is based on and follow the formula instead of cringes.
I AGREE ENTIRELY WITH THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE.
I'm not into DC, or Marvel, but that movie just made me smile.
The fact that The Lego Movie also pays homage to fan-made lego films is also pretty nice

You only watched 2 seasons?
@@gordonschnick12 you meant 3 seasons and a pilot of 4 episodes
Differences between The Lego Ninjago Movie and Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu:
Everyone likes lloyd in the tv show, everyone hates lloyd in the movie
Ninja unmask themselves to everyone in the show, ninja keeping their secret identity to everyone in the movie
Jay is in love with nya in the show, jay is not much love nya in the movie
Lloyd's mom named misako in the show, lloyd's mom named koko in the movie
Misako is old with grey hair, koko is young with orange hair
Spinjitzu powers in the show, no spinjitzu in the movie
Ninja don't go to school in the show, they do go to school in the movie
The only time that the characters llse their parts in the movie but not in the show
Everything is not made of lego in the show, everything is made of lego in the movie
Garmodon as human met misako, garmodon as demon met koko
Zane never had a mom in the show with his dad, but zane said he had a mom in the movie
Lloyd never appear as baby in the show, he does appear as baby in the movie
Misako mentions she abandoned lloyd as a baby in the show, koko raised lloyd in the movie
Garmodon turns back human in the show, but in the movie he loves to stay as demon
I mean, Koko might just be a shortening for Misako.
@@HunhowsShadowStalker I prefer Koko over Misako tho , she's a lovely, and caring mother unlike Misako who abandoned her son for history project

True
To follow up on what you said about The Lego Ninjago Movie, not only was the dialogue not clever, and the story very generic, but pretty much anything natural wasn't made of Lego. In Batman, the water and the sky weren't Lego either, but everything else was. And in the first one, the only things that weren't Lego were part of the plot. Also, I don't know if you've watched the show, but none of the characters are the same. The only thing that's similar, really, is their names.
Well, in Unikitty. There is no Lego. Just animated Lego.
@@poweroffriendship2.0 But that's like the Ninjago show. The only thing made of Lego is the characters.
Well, we know most settings, characters, etc. were made of Lego bricks. In Unikitty, it was jusr animated. No real LEGO bricks here except the opening theme. Also, the original series was way more better than the movie. I am still wondering if Lego Ninjago still did'nt end until the final battle.
The thing I find as a major mistake is Lloyd and Garmadon’s relationship. I’m the original it is so much developed and interesting. With Lloyd originally wanting to be his father, but learns he is the chosen one and he has to be the one that defeats and possibly even end him.

I am one of two kids in my high school to see every LEGO movie in theaters. I will say I liked the Ninjago movie, but it helps that the sets are actually really well made. And yes, maybe that movie was more sellout-y than the others, but when an average movie is the worst in your series (LCU), it highlights the quality. Thank you for this list.
Plus it's important to note that the LCU is still young and still experimenting; they have yet to fully define themselves like the MCU.
Ironically when I was sick for 4 days straight I watched the lego ninjago movie repeatedly back to back over and over again and I have a back pack of it
One of my favorite hings in the lego batman movie is that joker and harley quin actually seem to be in love with eachother
Personally, I really loved the Lego Ninjago movie. I thought it was hilarious, emotional, and really symbolized the beautiful and natural bonds between family and friends. I thought it was very clever how such a spiritual theme was conveyed, ironically, by material plastic bricks and for that reason many natural elements like grass and water were also included to capture this spiritual feeling.
On a parody level, the film pokes fun at classic martial art movies and actions movies. It even poke fun at classic tropes in the hero's journey all of which I thought were very clever and the vain of the previous Lego movies.
People seem criticize the humor but I was dying of laughter the entire time! The comedy has a really improvisational feel that can only be attributed to the comedian voice cast just making things up as they go along. They sound like they are having a fun and zany time and I really felt that energy from them across the movie. They made me feel a bit zany while watching the movie which established the tone. If anything, the jokes were so frequent and so good that I might have become a bit overwhelmed from so many comedic moments in rapid succession.
It was different from the Ninjago TV series true, but only in the way a superhero movie is different from the comic book and I can happily accept and enjoy both versions in their own special way. Even if you are of the opinion that the Lego Ninjago movie is inferior to it's predecessors, it is still an amazing movie that surpasses most other animated films in quality. :-)

THANK YOU! The Ninjago movie is an insult to the show, so many continuity errors, awful character redesigns, and terrible personality changes. You wanna watch Ninjago? Watch the show, it's much better than what the movie, yeah it's gone on for too long at this point after having a perfect way of ending the show, but even the later seasons are better than the movie by a long shot. The show shows that even Legos can do more than just be funny, to an extent, it's kinda like OG Teen Titans but Legos. The movie got Lloyd's story so botched, Kai, Jay, Cole, and Zane are just an after thought in the movie when they're major characters, even Sensei Wu is nothing like his show counterpart. If I were to mention the continuity errors, I'd be here all day. So, I agree completely with you on the Ninjago movie

Actually... I have a soft spot for Lego Justice League vs Bizzaro League. I watched it a lot when I was young.
I wanted to like the LEGO ninja go movie too but it didn’t follow the actual series it just made up a random story thing, kye looked kinda stupid, Zane just acted TOO much like a robot and well... it just wasn’t really right
I actually like Kai's design. I never liked his haior in the show. Zaned sucked tho, and he was my favourite.

It’s kai dude
I always thought Kai’s hair from the show was funny, because it wasn’t an actual LEGO piece so it looked weird with the rest of the body. At first I thought it looked stupid, but now it’s part of Kai’s personality. He has the really weird spikes hair that’s hard to draw.
Looked stupid?
Great Video! Two things though: 1. If you didn't like the Ninjago Movie, I think you will love the Ninjago TV Series, specifically season 1 and 8. It does everything the movie doesn't, like compelling character relationships and an intricate plot that puts the movie's story to shame. 2. The accent is on the "a" in Ninjago, not the "o." I know...nitpicking. Overall I agree with everything you said.
Benjamin Ortiz While I do love the movie, I would also strongly recommend Season 8. It is easily one of the best things I’ve seen on television this year, period. I was blown away by everything about it. Season 9 was sort of just “pretty good” for most of it.
I believe the Quiet One from Season 8 should have an analysis on why they are a great villain. I was amazed at the depth they took this cartoon character.
Benjamin Ortiz Same. (I can see why your not saying the character’s name and just their alias to avoid spoilers). I was genuinely surprised by how they set up the twist without being super obvious. Also just how human and personal their motivation was really shocked me. The entire episode of “Game of Masks” is easily my new favorite episode, mainly because it’s a psychological battle over a traditional one. On top of that, Lloyd and The Quiet One feel very much like two sides of the same coin, much more than Morro in my opinion (Seriously, aside from the fact that Morro possesses Lloyd, they really don’t have that many similarities when you think about it). The Quiet One is motivated by the personal loss, pain, and suffering from the different attacks throughout the show, while Lloyd became motivated from the same to become a better Ninja and leader for his team. Man, I love Season 8 so much. I always get so into just how well they did everything on a story level.
Agreed. Their dynamic was phenomenal. Long live Ninjago!

I'm gonna be honest I did enjoy the lego ninjago movie since o already grew up with the show but idk why is the movie so different compared to it like I know when a show or cartoon gets a movie it gets changes like outfits plot and such but still why is it not like the original show
Emmet has one key element of essance, and that's versitilaty.
Also, the scene where Emmet reaches his hand out to Lord Business as a means of friendship is a scene that touches my heart to this day. Right along with, Emmet insightfully explaining to Lord Business about the true meaning behind the creations of the LEGO citizens and of the boy Finn to his father. "What I see are people inspired by each other and by you. People taking something and turning into something new." Emmet just described the essance of creativity and LEGO'S itself.
P.S kind of odd to be having a video like this be put on September 11th don't you think?
Just what I needed in my life, Strider dancing to the "Everything is awesome" song
Same though
Phantom strider:" I wanna see more movies to have a all female cast"
Me: Ghostbusters
Phantom strider: hold that thought
The Lego Movie has been one of my favourites since I was nine. I grew up and liked other, more mature movies, but man, this movie has never changed me. It is still funny and of course, awesome.
Everything is Awesome! Everything is cool when you're watching a Strider list! Everything is awesome. Every vid is a hit!
You should watch the Ninjago series instead of the movie :) It's really great. It's completely different, and has no connection to it. It's a shame. All the fans wanted a movie that was connected to the canon Ninjago story, but that isn't what we got. I wholeheartedly recommend it though. The characters are way more interesting, the worldbuilding is cool too. I wish we had gotten a BIONICLE Generation 1 TV series, what with how much deep lore that story actually had. Or a theatrical film... Just imagine, G1 could still be around today. Sigh.
I know the TV show was better but sadly they decided to make the TV show characters look more like the movie characters destine
Before going any further, given the head of the trailer, it was necessary to suspect that the film would not be a sequel. Being such a big fan of the show, I laughed, smiled, I liked this movie the way I like the show. There are still references to the series (it had to be), a new story that is part of the "crazyness" of the Lego films that have been released in recent years. In addition, the dubbers, you can feel that they are having fun on them (in addition, they were the same French dubbers for the French version of the film). Jackie Chan in Sensei Wu makes me laugh every time, the story is completely crossed out and the "seriousness" of the series is in the background to give way to laughter. That's why I disapprove of the fact that Lego Ninjago The Movie doesn't deserve its place in second place among the worst Lego movies...but it's a shame that Clutch Powers (who would be in Ninjago as well, I love the reference) and Bionicle The Mask of Light is only in honorable mention. Those movies are so cool
@@jimtheperson9767 to be fair Sons of Garmadon, Hunted, Prime Empire, Master of the Mountain and Seabound are amazing
Fun fact: in the german Lego Batman, the Joker is voiced by a CZcamsr who got famous for Minecraft Let's Plays, but it turned out waay better than that sounds
I loved how the LEGO Batman Movie portrayed Joker as something similar to a clingy boyfriend. It’s great.
Also Daleks.
And Voldemort only using Wingardium Leviosa. That was great too.
I honestly liked the Ninjago movie.
Metaworld Same.
Me too man, I loved it!
Its was ok but not as good as the other two big lego films
That's a fair opinion but I don't think it deserved to be called the second worst Lego film of all time. An ok movies does not equal a bad movie in my books.
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi yeah its not the worst in any way what so ever in comparison to general non disney animated films its pretty good and the animation is amazing
You ought to take a look at a few of the fan-made Brickfilms out there. Some of them are quite entertaining, like Henri & Edmond, SpastikChuwawa, The Pilgrim's Turkey, just to name a few.
Everything is awesome, everything is cool when you’re part of a team, everything is awesome, the you’re living the dream
Every single brickfilm and brickamation has been watched on youtube by me reacting all of them
For me, the top 2 are the other way around. It mostly just comes down to personal taste, though, as they're both essentially flawless films.
As a lifelong Scooby-Doo fan I can honestly say that many of us also HATED the Lego Scooby-Doo movie. We've seen ghost pirates before and many of us are just done with them. There are plenty of monster ideas to choose from.
If cluch powers ent on here im going to explode into lego bricks
The Lego Ninjago movie is one of my favorite films
We need more Dancing Strider at the end of videos 👌🏼
Well, we need Dancing Strider become a meme for 2019. (I was worried that the meme will be dead now)
