- Around Belgrade, Serbia, there are 3 strong preconceptions.
1) which is one of the cheapest cities in Europe.
2) that it is the European capital of the party.
3) that Serbs are rude or temperamental.
Regarding the first point, we consider that it is not the cheapest country in Europe since there are other Balkan countries that are cheaper, but we must recognize that Belgrade is the city where things happen, since it is the capital of Serbia and the economic and artistic center most important in the entire Balkan region, and considering this, it is not an expensive tourist destination.
Around the second point, everyone talks about the type of party that can be in Belgrade, only heavy party, and many classify it as a great night-time tourist destination.
And on the third point, the Serbian people surprised us, supremely kind and gentle, supportive and cooperative. They were just a bit rude at the borders, as expected, traveling with a Colombian and emergency passport 😅

Estoy muy agradecido de que hayas visitado mi país. Tengo ciudadanía española y serbia, así que estoy en el medio, no mucha gente visita Serbia ya que estamos en el este y la gente piensa que somos pobres, pero simplemente somos del estilo de la era soviética.
Genial tener doble nacionalidad y conocer de primera mano dos culturas tan bellas como la serbia y la española

Yo he trabajado de guia, y tenia un problema como vosotros con una parejita Venezuelana, de hecho ellos tenian menos de 18 años y les dieron pasaportes provisionales en Caracas con consentimiento y garantias de los padres y querian ir a Rusía solo decir pasaportes PROVISIONALES los Rusos dijerin bien enseñen consentimiento de los padres y uno de los chicos perdio ese papel en Italia le dejaron que manda mensaje a Venezuela y padre mando directamente a la policia fronterisa Rusa y les dejaron entrara pero duro unas horas en Sheremetjevo y ya esta
Uy, qué historia.
Imaginamos lo complicado que fue resolver todo, pero bueno, menos mal pudieron lograrlo, al igual que nosotros jajaj

I guess.. if a serbian would be somewhere without valid passport.. stranger things would happen :)) So good, you found a solution and got well at the end, cause embassies are in general very sloooooowly. If you come again.. we love to dance folklor and you would surely get the energy, if you join an event.. OR: ask a folklore club if you could join a training of them.. I did that in stuttgart with the ballet or classic orchestra in berlin. It is special.. cause they are totally relaxed, without any pressure.
One cannot "get stuck" in Belgrade and Serbia in general. Imagine me saying: "we got stuck in Colombia"?
Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe with huge history and Serbia has huge history, too. Serbia has nice cities, wonderful nature, beautiful mountains, absolutely stunning medieval monasteries...
Serbians are, just ike the other people in Balkans, well known for their hospitality and talent for sports.
Next time you visit Serbia explore mountains, Novi sad, customes, music etc.
Have a nice and safe trip wherever you are.

We said we got stuck because of an issue we had with our passports, but nothing negative related to Serbia and Belgrade. We loved Belgrade and we tried to show it through our video.

Borders patrol is rude towards everyone even towards themself :)))) Very hostile. Everything else is correct. It's not as cheap but again everything is more expensive. If you compare with EU larger cities than definitively it's all right. Plus you could mention that it's pretty safe to go outside.

Tbh some say we are a very pro Russia country but not everyone is like that. But you have to keep in mind that since the war started not just Ukrainian people but Russians also moved to Serbia so it's an opportunity to sell them stuff with Putin on it.

that music when Kalemegdan was shown sounds more Yiddish than Serbian, and yes there are many Russian souvenirs and Pro Putin feel with some Serbs, however there are hundreds of thousands Russians emigrants who escaped Putin dictatorship and settled here. There are many Serbs who do not like Putin politics. Serbs and Russians are like two opposite worlds when it comes to mentality and temperament. Btw Argentina is extremely popular in Serbia specially football and basketball national teams are regularly supported by many here
