His dad was perfect for him. Lonzo was such a silent shy kid that might have lacked confidence without that king of a father. And you could always tell he didn't take pops to seriously when he said Lonzo was better than Steph while still in college and stuff like that. Man, I have so much respect for Lavar, he taught them confidence in hard work and that anything can be achieved. Could have backfired with Melo though, that crazy CoD lobby kid already thought he could take over the world at age 9. But luckily it didn't, Lavar kept him grounded. There should be more dad's like him

Lonzo had the Bulls running for a decent stretch when he was available. We were ranked number one and number 2 in offense and defense at one point. Offense went up because he played a fast break style which suited Zach's athleticism and made the team run after rebounds. Our defensive rating shot up because of Zo and Caruso's stifling defense. Derozan drew fouls and slowly tortured opponents from the mid range late in games.
True. His and Ac Defence helped and rallied the bulls players. And his playmaking gave them easy points. With that way of playing they can even give big men a hard time

Zach is not fully out of Chicago, go watch interviews. If he comes back to how he was end of 2023 season and lonzo can still be the same shooter playmaker and somewhat defender then we’re back. I think Lonzo fans need to keep modest expectations here. He was a solid starter before his injury but not like he was some top 10 player, let alone top 25, before his injury. Hopefully he can still be a solid starter going forward, but 2 years completely off is rough for even the very best athletes. That was really the key factor in Jordan’s second retirement. That and he was old at that point, which made it even harder. Look at Tyson and Ali after being out for 2 years. They where never quite the same after.

Damn you said something in this video that’s so true. Too many guards these days wanna dominate the ball and run every action. A great PG knows how to play on and off the ball and doesn’t hold the ball either to hunt for assists. Getting the ball moving is as important of a job as PG is as well as getting guys open shots off of manipulating defenses

I've always been and always will be a fan of Lonzo. His brothers are great players, especially Melo, but Lonzo is the smartest of the three since he's a play maker. His court IQ is crazy high and he makes incredible passing plays and has a good jumper. I'm excited for him and if he can have at least 5 good years in his career I'd be happy for him. Nobody has come back from an injury like his.

Oh man. I been a Lonzo guy since Chino Hills and totslly bought into him bringing the showtime Lakers back. Im not gonna compare him to Magic but he sure had the potential to bring the showtime Lakers back. Elite defense, Elite+ playmaking and a sniper until he ran into shooting issues in the NBA. He is still special. I hope he stays healthy and shows lil bro what's up. Obviously Melo is a top tier talent but he doesn't have the defense and is more of an offensive player.

If Lonzo can be a rotational player for Bulls, that should be considered a success! Like, he can play 25-35 game with 10-12 min per game. I think that is most we should hope from him next season.

When people say stats don't tell the whole story, look at Lonzo Ball's impact on the Chicago Bulls. The team crumbled without him due to his unique ability to space the floor, distribute the basketball, and deny offense. The team stopped moving the ball and getting down the court for easy buckets. I hope his comeback season is one that he can take pride in!

This is why one of the reasons the Bulls didn't make any moves at the trade dead line. They want to get Ball back and see what happens. If Ball can get back to playing the way he did it will be a huge boost for the Bulls.

Peak Chicago Lonzo was the perfect role player to put next to basically any guard, especially ones that aren’t known for their defense but are super good at everything else. Especially at the contract he was on, making barely over 20 a year. He could defend 1-3 at a HIGH level especially at the POA, knockdown C&S 3s on a high volume at a great clip, make the right pass in half court or especially in transition, etc. Him and Caruso were a two man wrecking crew on the perimeter. He’s not quite the defender Caruso is, but he’s WAYYYY better on offense…and fictionally the difference in defense isn’t that big.
Imagine him next to Haliburton. He had Bruce Brown for when they threw 2 at him, and BB could short roll and either make the right pass to a shooter, finish at the rim, etc. Bruce is awesome, but Lonzo is legit a way better defender, shooter, passer, and he’s bigger. Him next to a guy like Simons if Simons got moved to like SAS…a 4 man lineup of Simons/Zo/Vassell/Wemby would be nuts. Simons can pass but he’s not an elite passer, so Lonzo would make up for that. He isn’t a good defender, Wemby and Lonzo would cover that up. Simons is a crazy 3P shooter, dude is awesome off the bounce or on the catch. Only about 65% of his 3PA are assisted the last 3y and he can still shoot 38-42% on like 8-10att.
Lonzo would be amazing w Luka, Cade, DMitch or Garland, I can’t even imagine him on DEN lol, SAC w Fox, MIA w Herro or whatever, him and Suggs on ORL would be an absurd defensive guard duo and if Jalen can maintain his 3P% from this season it’d be crazy. LAL next to Reaves with LeBron, next to Harden, next to Maxey on PHI, on TOR if it was IQ/Lonzo/Scottie, MEM with Ja and Bane, OKC w SGA, JDub, and Chet. NYK with Brunson and OG. Him with Dame. It’s damn near every single team, that’s why he’s so valuable. Any 6’6 guy that is a great perimeter defender, can pass, and hit 3s at high volume is plug and play.
It’s why a guy like OG is so valuable even tho he’s far from a star. Every team can use an OG, so the more demand there is, and less supply (how many guys like Lonzo are there?) the cost goes way up. OG is going to end up making like 4yrs $140M or something, and a big reason is bc he would improve any team. The guy can’t average 25ppg, but he can slot in to any lineup basically and improve it…whether he’s the 2, 3, or even 4. We saw Zo play in 3 guard lineups, him, Caruso, Lavine. Even DeMar was in there who’s far from a traditional SF/PF.
THATS why he’s so damn valuable. I’m a DET fan and having Lonzo would be crazy with Cade. You could run Cade/Ivey/Zo as long as you have a good 3&D PF (not Stew lol) and a good rim protector. You can run Ivey/Zo when Cade sits. You can run Cade/Zo when Ivey sits. Now we obviously have no clue how he’ll look when he returns, it’s unlikely he will be as good as he was…but I wish him the best on returning next season as healthy as possible and continuing his career for a long time.
They have a nice group of young gaurds.

THe bulls have a promising future with our without lonzo ball, we've even gotten to see some flashes of a future with Ayo in this season as he has stepped up his game. and I think they should trade Zach or demar or Vuc, preferably Zach or Vuc, they need a veteran with playoff expercience and a person who is clutch in the crunch time.

Not all meniscus tears are the same. Big difference between meniscectomy and meniscus repair. A lot of these teams and players push themselves too quickly to get back.
As much as I hated the Ball family. Very much driven by how their father acts. I really hope he can resurrect his career. Its never a good thing when any player goes through an injury. Let alone a career threatening one like Lonzo has gone hrough. Best of luck to him
