I read that line in another way. I think Kite never believed his "bad spins" were actually bad spins. Everytime the crazy slot gave him the best (among the ones we know) weapon for the situation. Just think about the scythe. They were surrounded by enemies, that was the best possible weapon to have in that moment.
So why does Kite complain about every roll? I think it's just a superstion of his. Kinda like if he complains about the result, next time the crazy slot will try harder to give him the best weapon to make him happy.
So why doesn't he complain about that one? Because he knew there wouldn't have been a "next time".

â@@EmanPlay I hadn't thought of it that way and I'm not sure if I think he's DEFINITELY doing that, but it's a really interesting explanation that would be pretty in-character. I like that idea a lot. I do think, though, that the spin for the off-screen Pitou fight was ALSO the best possible one, since I still suspect it's the reason for... uh... a certain very unexpected thing that happens way later, let's say it like that.
Also your English in this comment was very close to perfect. I'm guessing it's not your first language, since that's usually where "sorry for my English" comes from in these situations, but actually it was great. Genuinely better than I see from a lot of comments from people who literally only know English.

Pitou was so terrifying and it's moments were my favorite moments in the arc.

I think no reactor mentions it but remember that before entering NGL a few chapters ago? Kite tells Gon and Killua that if he was in a dangerous situation they should leave him, Gon talks to Killua and says that he won't run away, while Killua says that depending on the situation he would make a decision, well in this chapter all that happened.
It seems nobody noticed Netero's genius Ging-like move of having Gon and Killua face the assassins. Before meeting Killua, Netero already knew Gon and Killua will likely fail, he got the 2 chess pieces prepared, and made the 'beat the assassins challenge' to prove theyre worthy of going into the chimera ant mission. The 2 assassins are Nen masters but lacked the gut that Gon and Killua have, vice versa. Netero big brain as always. Its always mental flexing for the Top G's Netero and Ging.
And still died fighting against the king

Oh damm thanks for pointing this out. This made netero san all the more of a badass.
The scene where Kite gives Gon his father's license is an anime addition. Kite leaves it to Gon on Whale Island in chapter 1, making this another fix caused by the inexplicable decision of cutting Kite from the first episode.
It's not that big of a deal, but while the extra scenes when Gon and Killua meet Kite fit well with the pacing of the story, this one completely breaks it. Kite stopping his tracking just to remember the past gives off the idea that something is about to happen. Pitou ambushing them out of nowhere shows how much the kids were unprepared for a threat like her, and this addition ruins the surprise.

Agree! It's ruined surprising material from the story. And this is only the thing I can say I hate it from 2011 version. (Excluding the fact I like Heaven Arena dialogue from Wing-san in 1999 more than 2011)
Been waiting for this episode specifically. One of my favorites of all time. Togashi just has this amazing ability to create situations that slowly creep up on the viewers and even the characters in the show, snowballing into an incredibly thrilling and emotional climax.
Thee absolute dread i felt the first time i saw this episode was overwhelming because Kite was already pretty powerful goes to show just how scary Pitou is Rip Kite such a great character.
This episode is a masterpiece. You could really tell how terrifying Pitou was by their facial expressions. Killua and Gonâs relationship is so good. And R.I.P. Kite.

I don't know Lindsey well enough to be able to read her expressions so I can't really tell if she was sad about Kite dying or if she just expected it and wasn't that bothered lol. If she was just too shocked to say anything I totally relate.
I love that moment of Morel and Knov taking all that shit to Killua while we just sit there knowing that they don't know nothing about the ants and that they stand no chance against them if Kite couldn't even defeat one
Oh yeah, this was the episode with both Kite vs Pitou, and the controversial Killua scene - "You are light"
How was that controversial? He didnât know Gon would make an ultimate vow like that
the tension in this episode was insane, a lot of content, it's definitely one of my favorite episode of all hxh.
Take note of how the glasses guy and the one with the pipe treat the kids now, and then remember this comment when the arc ends. One of the many things that make this arc a masterpiece is little details like that.
