Apo Reef - Diving in the Philippines

  • Scuba Diving video from my trip to the philipines. Apo reef is a large atoll with a few islands in the middle of the sea between the islands of Coron (busuanga) and Mindoro. It takes about 6 hours (at least on the boat I took) and is only accessible from live-aboard dive cruises.
    Fantastic Reefs and drop-offs and the most amount of large marine life i saw in one place during the dive trip to the philipines. Large fish and large schools of fish everywhere. Unfortunately Typhoon Yolanda seriously damaged the reef in 2013 and will take hundreds of years to recover fully. But this is a dive site that should not be missed!
    Please view my blog for How to get to Apo Reef & more info on this location and to explore others diving locations in the Philippines

    Absolutely breathtaking! I'm planning my trip to the Philippines next month and I'd love to dive Apo reef. May I ask what dive operator you used and what's the best way to get to the reef? I don't have a fixed schedule yet, only booked a flight to Puerto Princesa. Will stay in Palawan for 2 weeks.

    • @IndoWild

      you don't need the PADI card to dive. Dive centres can check your status online now.. If you go to bohol be sure to dive at Balicasag island (off the coast of Panglao/Alona Beach) this was fantastic diving..

      it was damage by super typhoon YOLANDA, as the corals are used by marine life as habitats.so lesser fish are found.

    Hi! I'm Regine Dela Peña, program researcher and production coordinator in the LIVING ASIA CHANNEL (LAC), a 24/7 cable and satellite television channel featuring the best of Asian travel, lifestyle and tour destinations.
    National Museum of the Philippines, with the help of Living Asia Channel, is in the process of creating a Marine Gallery set to be built this 2017. There are sets of modules in the gallery that require audio-video footage from the shallow to deep part of the ocean. In line with this, may I know if you have HD Underwater Videos that you are willing to donate? I saw this video and I’m humbly asking for your consent to have the raw copies and let us use the footage for the aforementioned program. We will highly appreciate it should you allow us to use any.
    For questions and clarifications please contact me here or at living_asia_channel@yahoo.com. To follow is the official request letter. Hope to receive your favorable response! Thank you!

    Wrong description. Apo Reef is a few small atolls and a large reef. Its accessible in 2,5 to 3 hours from Sablayan, Mindoro Occidental and not only on live aboard cruises. You blog must suck big time. Especially if its a Pilipino blog.

    • @IndoWild
      @IndoWild  Před 2 lety

      Not sure I know any day trips going there.. I don’t think I would fancy sitting on a boat for 3 hours just for a couple of dives… hence why it’s only accessible by Liveaboards..
