Boston defense is à Masterclass. This should be taught in every basketball camp. Either individually or the team, this is the highest level. Seeing Kyrie and KD suffer so much is the best proof of that defense superiority.

The media keeps pushing this narrative that KD is clutch, the best scorer in the world, and the best player in the world. But he has always been a frontrunner who just shits the bed when there is adversity and in big pressure games. From his OKC days, losing up 3-1 against the warriors, to then joining the 73-9 team that just beat him.
I don't remember the last time he hit a game-winner or carried his team to a playoffs series win when the pressure was there. It's easy to win with Steph, Klay, Draymond, and iggy, along with a deep bench, and a team that plays lockdown D when you are leading post to post with no pressure.
If he is the best player in the world then these are the games where he is supposed to give a 45,15,5 performance impacting all facets of the game. I've always said I wanna see how he does when the palms are getting sweaty and the throat is getting dry. Skills don't mean he can perform in high-pressure situations.

    • @panic_diver
      @panic_diver Před 2 lety +10

@UCtFuzwkffu3jh93goxekd4g KD's best series is the one he lost, think about that for a moment. And no one was expecting them to win because Kyrie and Harden were injured, so in a sense there was no pressure. It was like playing with house money.
When you are expected to win, when you are expected to lead the team and then you face adversity, that is when all time greats are made. KD hasn't proven that yet, I don't care what anyone says. He is supremely talented but does he have the intangibles and heart of the greats like Magic, Bird, Jordon, Shaq, Kobe, Bron, well he hasn't shown that yet. And I would love for him to prove me wrong and I will be the first one to give him his props.

I've always said his legacy is overrated. It's crazy because even after they loss last year, all you heard was "KD is the best player in the game." Dude got the most praised I've ever seen for being a loser. Then they kept talking about how he led USA to Gold, no doubt he was the biggest reason they won, but Team USA is literally favorites to win every year lol. Also, in the gold medal game, he missed all his shots in the 4th quarter, he was choking, Jrue's defense & Tatum's clutchness was what won that game. If he hadn't joined GSW, he would still be ringless today. He's the greatest scorer ever, but his legacy is far from being a top 10 or even a top 15 player ever. Giannis' resume already looks better than KD's imo. Aside from the GSW titles, all KD really has is that one MVP & scoring titles, which isn't even a major award imo. T-Mac won the scoring while being on the worst team in the NBA, it's not that big of an accomplishment. If those 2 GSW rings ends up being the only rings he ever wins in his career, that would be a huge disappointment on his legacy. Lol

    1) HE IS LYING..
-2017 after finals loss when talking about lebron "that's a guy you wanna go to war with"...a month later he asks for a trade
-Tells Boston fans "I'll stay forever if you'll have me" ...next season he leaves
    -"we don't need a coach"
    2) SAYS SOMETHING RIDICULOUS...
    -earth is flat
-Urges the league to stop playing games in the bubble because social activism is more important knowing he couldn't play because he was hurt
    - "we don't need a coach"
    3) IT COMES BACK TO HAUNT HIM...
-I finally have someone who can make "that shot" now look at both he and KD looking pathetic and unable to make ANY shot
-During all-star break "just watch how we come out in the 2nd half of the season, just watch"
    -"we don't need a coach"

Durant doesn't know how to play when he is double-teamed with playoffs physicality, he choked all the time in OKC when they could bully him. He does it again with the nets.
Shows the importance of leading, playmaking, and still finding a way to score when being double-teamed. Durant is just a scorer and not a natural passer and cant exploit double teams the way a great player should be able to do.
In physical playoffs basketball, you need that strength to get tough, hard-fought baskets. When it's not a soft shootaround with 4 all-stars spreading the floor suddenly you have to fight for everything.
