When the Warriors played the Nets and utterly dominated them in the 3rd quarter, I knew the Nets would be stopped sooner or later. The Celtics improved from where they were at the beginning of the season. They were physical, switching, and fighting over screens making sure KD or Kyrie didn’t have any space. The Nets had no one else to rely on and had no identity or plan outside Kyrie or KD.
Celtics, seriously congratulations. I honestly didn’t think you would even make the playoffs at the beginning of the season. Now? You put KD and Kyrie to bed and swept them. Good luck in the next round

Now when it comes to kyrie I personally have always thought he is a bit overrated. A handle is great. But handles are for the highlights what matters for winning is buckets and defense. He is able to get buckets but not that consistently and can easily be defended. He plays selfish alot that's why he is a guard while his assist numbers are trash the guy hates to facilitate others. And he cannot defend . The guy wasn't even making playoffs before bron but he gets to finals with bron and starts thinking he was the driving force. Yeah I get it he made the game winning shot vs warriors but only a casual would think he was the reason they won. Without bron he never even gets to the finals to make that shot. He is a good player. But not a great player by any standard whatsoever .

no one going to talk about this but I believe the Nets really miss jeff green (another big body who can defend + can big floor-spacing) and the original James harden trade was a huge mistake; great fighting back by the Nets but this roster is flawed plus there is plenty of blame to go around and all credit to celtics taking advantage of there match up
They also miss Jarret Allen aswell.

Thanks for the highlights! In some ways heaps better game for Nets but looking at the stats it was finally theirs to lose and they lost it. Claxton FT 1/11 ouch. Celtics solid through the series. Critical offensive rebounds and better shooting where it counted.

To be fair, on paper they seemed like the next superstar team that would dominate the east. But it seems like team play beats superstar play. You need talent on the Shaq-Kobe level duo to be finals contenders. KD and Kyrie are not quite on that level

Shaq and Kobe would DOMINATE these Celtics... Shaq wore big men out like nobody else in the history of the game while Kobe was on some MJ shit on the perimeter. KD is soft as fuck and Kyrie is often passive (for whatever reason).
KD left Steph to prove that he can win on his own as a leader. If he stayed for another 4 years in golden state, his legacy would be damaged more because it could have shown that he needs arguably the best team in NBA history in order to win some rings. He wanted to make a cavalier's - LeBron move but he failed big time
Important lesson from the Lakers. Don't hire cold feet, no matter how big of powerhouse they might be at their prime. You can't go on winning by thinking we'll get you back the next possession. No, defensive stops has to be the primary focus. Defense wins championship. Come back stronger next year Nets!

They were ALL OVER Durant in this series. Every time he touched the ball, they either swarmed him, roughed him up defensively or had active hands to swat at the ball to make him look clumsy. It was great to see actual strong team defense. Tatum did an amazing job at bothering him with his length. Kudos to the Celts foreal, and historically I've never been a fan.

If Nash will not make some adjustments or changes this team will get to nowhere,he will just waste the talents or skills of his players.
I want everyone to give KD the same energy that y'all had last year with Lebron when he was playing with injuries and wanted to lose because of the space jam movie, while kd didn't had any injuries, or pending stuff off the court like Lebron had, and had a superteam and still got swept and choked in the 3 first games of the series aganist the Celtics + got clamped by Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart. Also KD missed a 3 point clutch shot and a free throw to tie the game in game 4 to extend the series and somehow couldn't do it because he choked this proves that KD is a snake and can't win without a superteam with like 4 superstars in their peak healthy.
