- No, it's not the Maldives, but it's the next best thing. Manjuyod Sandbar in the Philippines is heaven on earth. Easily one of the most beautiful places in the world. It is about a 2 hour drive from Dumaguete and a 30 minute boat ride from the pier.

This is purely breathtaking...I can't get enough of this vid. I kept watching it over and over again...It is #1 on my bucket list...I've been dreaming of this place over and over again!
This video brings back some memories. Yes, the Philippines have some amazing places. Beautiful. I have made a couple of trips to Negros. From there went to Malapascua, Apo and Bohol. Also took a trip to Cebu and Boracay. I recommend the Philippines to everyone.
Which of these islands would you recommend. Bantayan, Moalboal or holbol. We cannot decide which one to go to.
Moalboal! You can visit pescador island from there or go snorkeling.
I recommend Bantayan and Malapascua and Panglao island been there few years ago and i miss the place.Can do diving and sunset on the beaches arghhh i miss it.

Yes right. But i believe that it has its own time to be promoted in the near future. I think its more of preservation over tourism for now. ;)
+Christler . I think it's one or the other, if they are passionate for preservation, they should not develop it for tourism. I was there many times and how I've seen this place developed. They cut many trees to pave way for the cemented road to the lakes. It's just a sad place. Preservation is myth as what I have seen . Action speaks more than words. When they start clearing the area , including trees and vegetation close to the lakes to make structures and cemented wide road, it utterly shows they don't understand the word nature preservation/ ecotourism, neither making the place a bird sanctuary is only a wishful thinking. Next time maybe there will be souvenir shop erected nearby or a guest house and I would not be surprised in less than a decade.

Make sure to call the local provincial Department of Tourism (DOT) of the place where you plan to visit. Book a trip with a DOT accredited travel agency so you avoid any scams or tourist traps. Mabuhay! and have an awesome trip to our country :)

I used to go to the sandbar with the whole extended family to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries back when we lived in the nearby town. This is actually the first time I saw it getting shot by a drone. I haven't visited in almost two decades since we moved and this video makes me wanna head back there right now. Lol. Amanpulo looks more like Maldives. That is in Palawan. We also have an island that looks like Santorini, Greece. That's in Bellaroca Island, Marinduque.

This place is not even a town.... Its just a sand bar... Maldives is a nation state with tons and tons of 5 star resort. The towns that claim this sand bar is so 4th world.
no one said, it is in Palawan... he was comparing to AMANPULO, which is an ISLAND CLUB for zillionaires... and this is a sandbar, which is under Bais or the town of Manjuyod.
Not everyone can afford to go to Amanpulo. It's too expensive. You can travel all over the Philippines with the money you'll be spending for the Aman Group. I don't see the point why Philippines should be compared to other places. I would prefer it to be unique, where you can't find it anywhere else.
