Santiago Alvero takes first place in OWWA Singing Contest

From talent on the job site to talent on the stage, PFM’s Santiago Bautista Alvero clinched first place during the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration’s Singing Contest. Santiago, a carpenter from the Philippines, was hand-selected as a finalist by the Migrant Workers Office OWWA in Los Angeles to compete in the contest held on June 23 at the Micronesia Mall.
As a finalist, a video was produced about him and premiered right before he took to the stage. In his native tongue, Santiago swooned the audience with his smooth, rich bass vocals.
Picking up first place behind the grand prize, Santiago won $500 and a trophy.
