  • Hi and welcome to Pattern and Craft!
    This video will show you how to make the shaped diamonds bracelet with single color border edges.
    Its a really fun technique and I hope you like using it, you will also see how to create the starting loop and the finishing ties.
    Theres no pattern number for this bracelet, but if you follow the steps in the video you won't need one.

    Thank you for teaching me this technique I know how to knot I just didn't know how to do the diamon shape. Trying to do a very very simple bracelet from bracelet book #17403

    Thank you for this. So helpful. Let's say I don't want a loop but just ties on both sides. How do I start then?

      Pariksha10 i usually will start from the middle if I plan to do that. Similar to my other video with the 2 in 1 bracelet but skip all the thread joining stuff. Just work from the middle out to each end and finish off with a tie. I’ll need to do a video on that- that’s something I do more often than making a loop.

    • @patternandcraft3908
      @patternandcraft3908  Před 4 lety

      Pariksha10 you could also just work one end to the other, follow the same steps in this video except instead of making a loop start just leave enough thread to make a tie with, do a temporary overhand knot, start your bracelet just below it, then once you finish the bracelet untie that knot and make the finishing tie.

    Could you come up with a more neat knot than the overhead knot? My overhand knot is so big and I don't like it. Are there more options?

    • @patternandcraft3908
      @patternandcraft3908  Před 4 lety

      Pariksha10 if you do a nice knot and pull each thread tight one by one a few times like I show here then you can get it to be tighter and smaller- but also there’s always the option of using one strand of thread and wrapping it around the rest as a finish, similar to how you’d make the thread wrap on a tassel- there’s even ways to hide the knot and thread ends beneath the thread wrap. It’s a bit less secure, but you can easily replace it if it comes off. Look up how to make a basic tassel and skip to the last step where they wrap it. Hope that helps, I will sometimes do this when I’ve got too many threads for an overhand knot to look nice. Maybe I’ll include it in my upcoming ties video.

      Pariksha10 I think I’ve also done a version where I only used about half the threads and make an overhand knot over the rest- I’ll need to play around with that more and test it out though before I can truly recommend it, but feel free to give that a try too. Practicing with scrap string might help.
