That is a mistake thinking they cannot shock and surprise you anymore. They just keep getting better and better every day! Every time you think that, the next view they shock you.
When Pentatonix sings darker songs, they come out so much more positive! When Scott sang ""I don't care if it hurts", I'd never heard such strength in the song. It felt like a celebration of self, which I'd never heard in Creep. This keeps amazing me and makes their music so beautiful to me.
A beginning of a new phase for them. Louder, grittier and even more complex arrangements. Seen on their last Christmas album with Kiss From a Rose and O Holy Night.
They’ve said being on The Masked Singer gave them the opportunity to explore using musical instruments more, which they have incorporated sporadically throughout their career. They have featured Kevin’s cello, Matt on drums and Scott on piano in their concerts, and their Christmas album last year with guest artists from around the world had instruments too. Personally, I think this performance signaled a new era of PTX, a post-pandemic boost in maturity that shows their passion and dedication in new ways. Yep, there is no roof on Pentatonix. At this point, who knows where they might end up? It is absolutely possible to be perfection and then get better. Who knew? You really must do their Kiss From a Rose (VEVO live). You're friend's performance was very good. Very, very, good.

I listened to this at least 30 times that first week. They have a video of it on their channel that’s just the song. Love it! Wish we got a music video for it but don’t think that’ll happen.

This was our first intro to the new PTX...I call them the new improved PTX 12.0....
If you watched the FOX show you would see that they played the entire song...as you just saw. Normally at the end of each show the leaving guest get a few seconds of their song played before the credits roll and the show cuts off. You NEVER get to see the whole song much less half of it. Fox knew that PTX was special and has a crap load of fans who would complain. So they ran over into the next show just for us fans. Thank you FOX. 😊 I applaud them for this decision.

Sorry, this whole PTX singing leaves me cold. I mean humanly cold. Kind of shiny and sparkling thing. And that is what their whole singing is all about.
To be perfectly honest here, I didn't care at all for the treatment of Creep by PTX. Sorry. Your friend on piano did a much better job imo. Creep is not a "group" song. But if it was, can you imagine a Forestella treatment? 🔥 😮❤❤❤ Thanks again! 👍
I totally get that. I personally loved it but, being honest, forgot which song it was not even half way through. It was just the tone and the guitar and... ugh it was so good. But everything's not for everybody and I appreciate your perspective. And I can't wait to have the chance to tell Kat that someone said her cover was better than Pentatonixs'!! HAHA.
