I am buzzing for Sandro. All the shit that has been unearthed by classless haters about him not wanting to be here and wanting to be back in Milan as soon as he landed, all the crap about him not being able to settle in the North East geographically and in terms of the Premier League. The lad was on absolute fire and yes it's 1 game but he will never find a fanbase that adores him as much as Newcastle fans will. Don't doubt the lad. As a Brescia-ACMilan supporter it's so melancholy to see him gone away and wearing a white-black jersey. But he is a good lad and I wish him the best! He is suited to play english football so I am confident he will have a great season

Only one word to describe Tonali’s debut, WOW. He just controlled the midfield, he knows when to go and he knows when to sit in, he dictates the pace. Obviously he’ll come up against tougher opponents, but he looks a world class player. Great start to the season. Games don’t come any tougher than City away next week.
The fact that Tonali played two roles on his debut game says it all . He roamed little up front with Bruno sitting back and when Bruno was substituted he sloted into his place seamlessly.. Wilson missing such sitters doesn't suit him, he should have had a brace for himself... Exciting for the season.. and if we get something out of Man City game then we would be absolutely fine going into the season

He swapped the san siro for st James's park. And its going to be worth it. He didn't miss a single pass or challenge in that game. Great performance from everyone. What a team we have hear.

I got goosebumps watching our game last night, never had them for years. We were absolutely amazing. Tonali “wow” how did we get him, what a player he is, he took his goal exceptionally well, all the lads were enormous today ❤️❤️❤️
The thing with Bruno G. I thought he played the way he could do today. Didn’t have to get forward and supply passes. He let his teammates do the work today. Which is a great sign. You’re right though we will see more from him

I think Newcastle will be absolutely lethal this season , and dish out a few hammerings , even surpassing what we done last season . There won’t be many teams destroy Villa like that this season , Diarby looks a class act for them too .

He was our worst player by far....

Bruno , Sandro & Joelinton are gonna be a tough 3 to matchup against for any teams all season! And with city and Liverpool next we could put a real statement down plus we get two tough fixtures out of the way early in the season. 4 or 6 points is the aim
Keep going Keith no matter what. You're a class act. Gordon is a new signing in comparison to last season. Barnes was brilliant when he came on. Isaak is going to be the complete striker. I thought Bruno was quietly effective. But Tonali, absolute Rolls Royce, what a player. £52m may turn out to be bargain of the season.

A word about the Toon M/F. The evolution of Eddie Howes thinking is to move beyond the whole no. 6, no.8 midfielder profiles. Eddie wants each of his midfielders to be all things ie both a six and an eight and even an 11. He wants to transcend the restrictions of positional M/F.

Next two games very tough but after today’s performance I’d be slightly disappointed if we don’t have at least 6 points after the Liverpool game. It’s crazy two draws would be great but a loss to City and home win against Liverpool we’d be better off.

Bit surprised on The Overlap Neville and Carragar dont have Newcastle in there top six. Not to worry us against the world, where do you think we will finish?
Thank God my predictions ever since the takeover have been wrong. Here we go;
1. I've always appreciated Eddie Howe, but I predicted he wouldn't last more than 6 months. Obviously wrong.
2. Then after that amazing 2nd half of the season I predicted that he would be allowed to see out his contract, but he would then have to make way for a "big name" manager...so the owners gave him a new contract.
3. Then I predicted an 8th place finish, but that the defence would need to be sorted out before they could qualify for Europe...the best defence in the Premiership and Champions League qualification!
So after seeing this game I've given up. All I know is that if we can steer clear of injuries to our key players then anything is possible!!!

Great start and lovely to see. Eventually I can envisage Gordon switching to RW and Harvey Barnes operating LW instead of Almiron. Barnes especially gives us a dynamite added GOALS THREAT while Tonali will eventually drop back to CDM allowing Bruno move into a more forward creative role. He's absolutely wasted in that holding midfield slot IMO
