      "vitut" would be closer, but more demanding and not respectfull, Perkele is disagreeing but not changing the situation (going along grudginly), I think the proper would be "Juuei"

    There was once a competition which language, English or Finnish has the most difficult word to pronounce.

    Oh my goodness this made me laugh!!! As a native English speaker (steadily adding German as a 2nd language) I know that to speak "politely" in English we add so many more words than necessary for a simple comment or request.. I'm likely exhibiting this in this comment... 🤣

    Ha ha! Funny and sort of true of course. Though I have to say I live in constant fear of appearing rude to my English speaking friends, as we don't really have these polite little words and phrases in the Finnish language, and aren't accustomed to using them.

      ​@@VeryFinnishProblems lol I've noticed I use 'No niin' loads in my everyday talk. And depending on the situation, it would translate as "well", "right", "yeah", "okay".. You're right it's a most useful and versatile phrase!

      @@VeryFinnishProblems I've never been to Finland, but my family are Norwegian ( adopted this is) when i was a little 'un around about 10, I used to know a finnish song called Tuku Tuku Lampaiitanii ( well, don't know how its spelled but something like that, and always loved the sound of the language :-)
