Fall garden is my favorite. I got hit with early blight harder than usual but the only rain we got all season was after the blight had set in so I couldn’t treat it properly. Like you, I decided to give myself some grace ( I struggle with that if I’m being honest ) I’m going to focus on fall because most of the market farmers around me grow an abundance of summer crops so I can always purchase something if I need to for preserving.

Good morning! ☀️ I enjoyed my first cherry tomato yesterday while watering, what a treat it was. There are a couple more on the plant but not yet fully ripe. I have 38 paste tomato plants, two cherry and one beefsteak tomato plants and the cherry tomato plant is the only one that has something ready to eat. Most don’t even have any tomatoes starting. I wonder if the excessive heat played a role in the lack of fruit starting?? We need some rain too. It’s going to be much cooler this week which will be nice for getting some weeding and harvesting done.
Your harvest and the flowers are looking so beautiful! 🌸

    • @seedandsparrowhomestead

As for things to do with the peppers... Do yourself a solid and dry them any which way you like. make sure to wear safety goggles, long sleeved shirt, the best mask you have for breathing.... and keep all distractions away for this part...
Get your spice grinder of choice out and blitz the peppers till a fine powder, add some of your favourite salt and fresh cracked pepper with some sort of green herb... Oregano or Basil or Mint or Rosemary that is also dried and blitzed.... Mix and you now have your own Pepper Salt. If you want you can also add a bit of sugar, but I don't. You will thank me....
