    I had a single LED lamp like yours on my dual sport. On my road bike I used two 3" LEDs mounted to the forks. The 2 light setup is much better. It casts a wide beam and looks better. If I still owned the dual sport I would switch.

    The suspension is the most expensive mod, I believe that it was around $1200.
    However it transformed the bike.
    Everything else was pretty low budget.
    I got most of the items on Amazon a little at a time.

    Nice XT250. I've got that same ATV Logic bag on my XT250. I heard that you can use super tenere footpegs. Guessing you had to build your seat concepts seat since they don't sell a completed one. I see you also took off the front fender guard. I'm running that same richochet skid plate. Cheers!

  • @crispinleslie
    @crispinleslie Před 3 lety +5

    Nice. They look like relevant upgrades- I think I would personally ditch the pack on the front mud guard, looks like it compromises the headlight too much for my preferences.
    I think I’m going to complete pretty much the same package myself, could I ask what those upgrades all cost please ?

    • @louistortorich332
      @louistortorich332  Před 3 lety +3

      The suspension was around a grand.
      I would go with a led headlight instead of the HID, Easier install and cheaper .

    • @rickoberg4749
      @rickoberg4749 Před rokem

      I have the front fender bag on mine as well. There isn't a noticeable difference in headlight performance even though it is partially blocked. It's not very much weightbut with as much stuff as I haul even just moving that couple pounds to the front helps.

    So was the mid suspension sold for the XT250 exclusively or did you just find a swap out part? When I last researched this
    bike I never saw anyone who had changed the suspension which was surprising since I would guess it's a little soft? What
    about the front suspension, is there anything that can be done or is it alright? But you're the 1st that said they did anything
    w/ the suspension. Nice look, peace

    Out of curiosity, how tall are you and did that affect your purchase of this bike vs something with a taller seat? I like the XT250, but at 6'1" and 200lbs, I'm wondering about comfort level on longer rides.

    • @louistortorich332
      @louistortorich332  Před 3 lety +6

      I'm 5'7 and 200 lbs.
      The seat height had a lot to do with my decision.
      If I was taller I would have preferred looked at a DRZ400.
      The top speed is about 65mph so I stay off of the interstate.
      The bike is very comfortable especially with the seat concepts seat and the bar risers.
      At 200 lbs the new suspension is a game changer for me.

      @@louistortorich332 Thanks, Louis. That is helpful. I'm a newer rider, and I know the advice is "Just ride a bunch of bikes and see what you like." But people can learn their preferences over long periods and a lot of riding. I know the DRZ400 has a lot of fans. I'll bump that up on my options. Best of luck!

    • @louistortorich332
      @louistortorich332  Před 3 lety +1

      @@vandogtrailer6701 the DRZ has a lot more power to go with the taller seat. As long as you are careful with the throttle you would probably be ok.

    • @ngzcaz
      @ngzcaz Před 3 lety

      @@louistortorich332 I'm 5'7" as well. The bike is the perfect height. Interested in your tail tidy ( never heard of it ) ? and also and the license plate holder. BTW, your top speed should be well in the 70's stock. You should be able to do 60 to 65 on the highway with the bike singing a bit but not wound out. Problem is you don't have a lot left if need be. I've done 74 and that wasn't wound tight. If you stay off interstates you could go for a 14T front sprocket. Dollar for dollar it was the best mod I made on this bike..
      If I were taller and richer I'd have a KTM 300 2 stroke..
